Had the burrito & nachos. Nachos were not good plus the chips were stale. Burrito wasn’t good either ewwwl. Won’t be back

Went here for the first time today, my mom has been raving about it so I checked it out. The atmosphere was definitely not what I expected but I liked it, very«young/hip» styled. What was a little disappointing was the size of my fish tacos for a 7 dollar meal with two tacos and fries. Although they filled me up perfectly I know they wouldn’t have a bigger guy, or probably any guy. Still very yummy and worth a visit!

Clean place. Superior to the more popular Taco chain. I hope they will expand. Good service and the food tastes good for the price. Wished one was closer. The sauces are good. Great selection.

So glad Del Taco is now in Houston! They are absolutely the best Mexican fast food chain. Love the chicken soft tacos and the red burrito.

When craving some great fish tacos this is the place I visit to fulfill my craving. It’s fast, convenient and good. I’ve never dined inside so I wouldn’t be able to give you a good review for that but the drive thru is great. Staff is always friendly and respectful. I think this is the only location in Houston and they seem to be doing very well. I’ve heard that these are also based in California which makes sense since the taste is fresh and it goes a level higher than your regular fast food. I always order the same thing(fish tacos) but maybe will venture and order other items. I’ve also had their beef tacos which were also good and you have to try their Caramel cheesecake bites!!! They are fast, quick and good… they are open 24 hours for those late nights too.

I mean, it’s totally a little slice of home, as a Californian. Now if only they’d get it right. The fries at this location taste freezer burnt, or over done or something. I can’t put my finger on it… it’s just not quite right. My order? ½ Bean and Cheese burrito, green, bold, with extra secret sauce. BTW Texans. Bold means adding french fries and their secret sauce(And if I remember correctly extra cheese, but I could be wrong.) It’s an extra 50 cents, and it’s worth it. Problem is, that I never had back home, when I ask for this, I get extra green sauce usually. Secret sauce is what comes on your chicken tacos/burritos, guys. Get it right. ;) $ 1.50 a piece means great lunch. And their medium drinks are giant. It’s not quite home. But that’s how Texas In-N-Out was. I think they’ll get better over time.

Amazing… Del Taco’s chili cheese fries and quesadillas are absolutely my favorite. I’m a SoCal Native so it’s nice to have a little piece of home here in Houston. 5 stars all the way!!!

I’ve heard so many good things about Del Taco that I decided to give it a go. I pulled up to the drive-thru and glanced over the menu. I ordered a #8 combo — two flatbread tacos, fries, and a strawberry lemonade. The drive-thru took awhile. Everyone says it’s so fresh, so I assumed they were making the food fresh. When I finally tasted my food… it was not what I was expecting. The steak in my tacos was very, very bland and there might have been four or five cubes of steak in each taco. There were a ton of diced, watered down tomatoes though…*shudder.* I ate my tacos though and tried out my fries. Very odd tasting. I don’t know if the grease was old, or what. But normally I never throw out fries but I ended up throwing out the whole large order of fries. The strawberry lemonade was delicious however. Maybe I should have gotten the burritos everyone seems to love. I don’t know… it just wasn’t what I was expecting. Everything had an odd taste or flavor to it. Not going to be back again.

Del Taco. hmph! More like Del MuthaF*ckin’ Taco! This shit is good. Why the hell does everyone compare it to Taco Smell(See what I did there)? Oh, you mean you don’t like fresh ingredients? That’s too bad, here you go… www.myblog.com — cry about it elsewhere. Now where were we?(Alliteration kids) Del Taco is the shit. If you don’t like it, move to Zimbabwe and you’ll be running for this taco. What do you mean you dont have the money to move to Zimbabwe, go sell your ass on the streets and go!!! Jeez Louise wet Tee’s! Try the fajita burrito, that shit is bomb! I highly recommend it.

I’m originally from California and when I ran into this place I got excited! The food and service is just as average as I remembered. They are definitely a value restaurant and depending on when you come, you might get above average food. I usually order fries and two crunchy tacos, you can’t go wrong.

Why did Greg F. have to review this place and mention cheap tacos on a Tuesday? Why did Carola M. mention Macho Chicken Burritos? I don’t even know what that means in regards to eating, but I do want to be macho! Why the heck is this place located in such a crazy location?!? Let me start buying saying this place is frugal meter approved. I now know why Taco Bell is currently testing a new value menu in a couple of cities… it was because of these guys. They have a real deal value menu with items starting at 50 cent! There is a nice variety of things on it to that ranges from a plain mini quesadilla to shakes. What really sold me on this place is that is when I read up on this place, it was Tuesday, and they had a great special on Tuesday: 3 Regular Tacos for $ 1.09 A crunchy corn tortilla is layered with warm, seasoned beef, crisp lettuce, and freshly hand-grated cheddar cheese. 3 Classic Tacos for $ 2.09 The Regular Taco with fresh tomatoes from what I could see. I could not see me paying an extra dollar for cubed tomatoes, so regular tacos were good enough. I actually thought 15 regular tacos were good enough. I was certain that they would be about 3 bites each, so in my mind that made sense to order that many… and I did… along with a mini bacon quesadilla, chipotle taco and a strawberry lemonade. I asked for all 3 of their sauces(regular, medium and hot) to go with my cheap goods… all that did not even cost $ 9! First of all, I must say that they forgot to put the hot sauce in the bag. The two sauces that I did eat cannot compare to the flavor of Taco Bell. The quesadilla is not all that either. I will order it again, because I like the price(75 cents), plus I need to make sure I don’t think it is all that. The chipotle taco was tasty and fresh, and at 75 cents, I may just get one every time I show up to this place! The strawberry lemonade was as refreshing as it was tart and sweet intermittently! I liked that there are fresh strawberries at the bottom of the cup. Last, but definitely not least, the tacos themselves. Well, darn it, they are tacos! I must say that those 15 tacos did not come out right away. They were definitely made when I ordered them, and they definitely tasted very fresh. FYI, they also have a Thursday deal to whereas you get 3 chicken soft tacos for $ 2.09. You can also get 2 free chicken grilled tacos for joining their e-club, along with other freebies for liking them on Facebook. Just go to the company website for details on all those offers. All in all, I will be back, because I am a fan… especially of cheap eats, plus I need to taste chicken tacos, shakes, and that macho burrito that Carola spoke so highly of! I only did the drive thru so I am uncertain of the conditions inside, but maybe that is an adventure for another day… especially considering that it is a journey just to make it there! All in all, I just wish it was not located in such an odd location!

Oh Del Taco — how I wished I could visit you more! Sadly, you are the only one in Houston, but I am glad you are here! Most people don’t realize how awesome your food is, that your beans are cooked freshly every morning, or that you have some of the tastiest taco’s!!! Here’s the value though: Tuesday is Taco Day: 3 of your yummy taco’s for $ 1.09. That is right — THREE regular taco’s for just over a dollar. You want 6? no problem, $ 2.18 plus tax :) I’d be massive man if I ate here all the time, but the food is really tasty and filling. And super inexpensive. Stop in if you want some really awesome fast food taco’s: don’t get me started with the chili cheese crinkle fries!!!

My Husband called me and said that there is a Del Taco in Houston! He has traveled to different cities, and he would always tell me about Del Taco on how the burritos were amazing. When he found out that there was one in Houston he made sure to take me. We arrived to Del Taco and he already knew what to get. Two Macho Chicken Burritos please! I have never seen someone so excited it was cute. Once I got the burrito it was huge! Fries with Burrito? That is weird! I never seen that combination well I never tried that combination. The location of Del Taco in my opinion should not be in this area. It should be further down westheimer near the galleria area. They need to open more locations! Anyway, back to the burrito. The first bite was mouth watering it was delicious. I have had burritos from different restaurants, but this one by far is the best that I have tasted. It is heavy too hahaha. Wow! It was a long drive to get to this place, but it was worth every mile. I really hope that they open a location near me. it is open 24 hours so this place is THEPLACE to go to for that craving midnight snack. Happy Unilocaling!

I think I just threw up. Thank you Del Taco. Yuck. Maybe I accidentally drove through the Goodwill and they were giving away tacos, but this place was so bad, I couldn’t even stomach the two chicken soft tacos I had. Weird sauce, cilantro that was brown and LOTS of onion with a sad corn tortilla does not a taco make. and fries with tacos? Um… I’m confused. This place is NO way shape or form measures up to Taco Bell, or any other taco I have had in my life. $ 6.43 cents I will never get back.

As former Southern Californians, we had to make the trek to the boonies as David puts it(anything outside 610 qualifies as the boonies) for Del Taco. Which was in Houston when I lived here in the 80s — I remember one at Bellaire & Ranchester — but then disappeared. Ah, crinkle cut fries, we missed you. I got the chicken burrito and chicken soft taco combo. The burrito was ok; the chicken soft tacos have always been my favorite Del Taco item and they were just as good. The little nodules taste almost like chicken. David got a macho burrito combo. His burrito was enormous, and where the picture showed lettuce, tomato and sour cream, his burrito was almost entirely beans and hamburger. The enormous burrito proceeded to explode and David was left trying to cut it up into pieces with a knife and fork. I hope he didn’t eat any of the wrapping. Other than the mess he liked it. The people were extremely nice. I hope Del Taco makes a go of it in Houston this time around.

Another west coast fast food joint that made it’s way to Houston. I love it. Brings back memories of my Cali times. I love the macho combo. Definitely not healthy but delicious. The chicken soft tacos are great too.

Decided to check this place out since I was starving and noticed that it had finally opened. I was going to use the drive thru but opted out to go inside instead since the line was so long. The inside was awkwardly small, I could see this place not having enough seats for customers during peak time. I decided to get two chicken soft taco, which ended up costing a little over $ 2. The chicken was pretty juicy however they might need to tone down on the secret sauce as my taco was smothered in it. They also have a condiment counter and you can try whichever salsa to your liking. The wild salsa(I think that was what it was called) had a nice kick to it, and because of that salsa I gave it a 4 star instead of 3.

Oh my glob — it is finally open! This review will prominently feature Adventure Time, since it is amazing. And if you don’t think so, then you may lump off. First things first: I really disapprove of their location this far out in Westchase. This was a ridiculous drive for a taco. I did it. Without remorse. But this thing would be much better suited in Montrose, Upper Kirby, something closer and easier to get to more often. It makes me think that as a cosmic joke when In N Out finally comes here — they are going to put it out in Spring or Conroe, just to spite me. I will still drive to that too — but I am also still going to complain about it. The location is really awkward, like it comes out of nowhere. So just be on the lookout for the place. It is a stand alone structure at the edge of the strip mall. It is a pain to make a u turn(oh a Weeds reference too — holla’) on this part of Westheimer, so just don’t miss it your first time around and everything is set. They only have one drive-thru lane. And it is a short distance from Westheimer through the lot into the lane. So if you come here at a peak time, I imagine you will be camped out on Westheimer with traffic backed up. When I was here there was only one other car, so all was fine for me this time around. Eating at peak times: it is not righteous. It is wrongteous! … stupidteous, even. So … bros are supposed to tell bros everything all the time. So after I ran five miles this afternoon I felt the best way to celebrate would be by eating five pounds of tex mex. After an early morning scare on Unilocal Talk where the corporate website had not been updated at 10am to reflect the store opening, that had been remedied by noon. So late lunch plans were set in stone. A review of their food in three acts. Crispy fish taco: Finn, what the cabbage? There is a lot of cabbage on this thing and I like it. There is also a lot of salsa. And the secret sauce — they poured it on there. I like that. This is good. The fish nearly takes a back seat to all of that. Which is okay. It is different than how Ziggy’s Downtown and Guadalajara del Centro tackle the fish taco. But the secret sauce here, man, tasty. This was definitely the highlight of the meal. And when I come back this is what I want. Badly. Chicken Spicy Jack Quesadilla: meh. It is smaller in size than Taco Bell. There is much less chicken than Taco Bell. The tortilla is more tortilla-ish than Taco Bell, which means there is a lot of bread in here. Not a ton of cheese. It seems like the tortilla is the main event here — and it is just not a stunning tortilla variety that can carry the weight of the quesadilla on its shoulder. Good experiment here. Probably will not ever get it again — I hardly ever get the quesadilla at Taco Bell either. Chili cheese fries: this is the part that really brought out my inner Lumpy Space Princess. I ordered the deluxe. That came up on the little order screen. That is what I paid for. But I got the regular old chili cheese fries, the box was stabbed with an X under that one. I hate when that happens. So they still have some things to iron out in their system, they just opened, so I took it with a grain of salt. But oh my glob you guys, drama bomb! The chili cheese fries were okay after I got over my fury and rage quitting the entire package for a brief moment before I realized fries are better than no fries. There is a bunch of chili in there. Not a ton of cheese. Would probably not order it again to be honest. All in all three stars is generous. They just opened so give it some time. And check your order in the lumpin’ drive thru lane before driving off so you don’t get rickrolled like me on the deluxe-ness of your fries. Now after eating all this, I want surgery to make my body hot.
