I can’t get enough of this chicken although there are some menu items missing from the pollo feliz restaurants that are in Mexico. Wish they would open up a closer location to Katy but this is way better than the other chicken place by voss and westheimer.

It’s crazy how they make you order more then you need for delivery. They should have a min less then what they have $ 25 plus $ 7 of delivery cost? For cheap bad quality fast food. Pretty fancy price I will now order something else and get better food for $ 32 plus tax $ 37 dollers wow. I am one person.

This place used to be really good but over the last few years has really gone down hill. I ordered the soft chicken tacos which were extremely dry and over cooked and one of the tacos had a bone in it. Nice job Pollo Feliz! This and poor customer service is why I’ll never be returning. I’d award it zero stars if I could. Avoid at all costs!

I’ve had Pollo Feliz(a gazillion times) in Mexico(where it originated from), Guanajuato to be precise. I was ecstatic when I found out we had one in Houston. Yes, I know I’m only several years late. Lol I was however very disappointed, the Houston location is not up to par. I gave it three stars only because I know it can be sooo much better. I went on a Saturday for lunch and I was pleased to see the menu and concept fairly similar. Nothing fancy but the service was very good, quick and friendly. The prices were affordable and the menu options were more than expected. Now to what it really boils down to, the food… I got combo #1 which consists of a breast and a wing, 2 sides, drink, tortillas and«salad» for about $ 8. They have a salad bar which basically consists of different salsas including pico de gallo, purple onions, tomatoes and limes. The tomato salsa was good and the green salsa had a nice kick to it. For the sides you can choose from, charro beans, nopalitos, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, French fries, Spanish rice. I went with the typical Spanish rice and charro beans. The seasoning on both tasted ok, they tasted a bit better after I added some salt. The chicken was dry, tasted bland and it wasn’t fresh. I didn’t hear it popping and sizzling over the coals like other Unilocalers did. Pollo Feliz didn’t feel and definitely didn’t taste like a fast-food restaurant until today. I will continue going to Pollo Feliz… only when I visit Guanajuato.

Waited 25 minutes for food in drive thru with one car ahead of me. 3 piece combo and got it wrong and pieces of chicken so small I couldn’t believe it. Wing had nice piece of hair. Never again!

Great food! It would be better if the wait on food is shorter… I was the only customer there and waited for 10 mins for a burrito…

Decided to try this place for lunch and went through drive thu… the lady then told me the credit card machine was broken and if I had cash, which I don’t carry cash on me… so I couldn’t reverse bc there was a car behind me and the two cars in front had the same problem which we had to wait for the car in front to get their order. So I basically wasted 20mins of my lunch time stuck in their drive thru. If u decide to eat here call first to see if their cc machine is working… waste of my time.

The chicken is not nearly the quality it was when this location opened. Most of the sides were never much to rave about. I live and work nearby but do not intend to return.

The presentation of the food is not the best, but it’s fast food so what can you expect? The chicken though, is very well seasoned and pretty affordable. I have driven by this place for a long time never giving it a thought. My husband told me one of his friends turned him on to it & it hits the spot in a hurry. I am not sure what marinade or spices they use, but it is a good combination. Since it’s fire-grilled it seems like it is a healthy choice. The mac n cheese was kind of bland, but the Charro beans has a nice flavor.

The location may look a bit sketch but the grilled chicken is the best I have had in a quite a while. The meat is extremely juicy and it’s marinaded in a great sauce. Highly recommend trying out Pollo Feliz, even if it is picking up the order to go.

I saw this place and decided to drop in for a quick lunch. Usually these Latin chicken restaurants are great. This one was terrible. I had the breast/wing plate with 2 side dishes. The chicken was dried out and tasted like cotton. It looked like the typical backyard grilled chicken cooked by someone that doesn’t know how to cook chicken. I had vegetables and mashed potatoes as my sides. The vegetables were cooked perfectly but had absolutely no flavor. No seasoning at all. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes with too much water. I will never return to this location.

Very good chicken. It has a nice citrus marinade flavor, similar to El Pollo Loco(for those who are familiar with that chain). The sides aren’t bad, pretty decent for fast food actually. One thing to be aware of is that this is an actual MEXICAN chicken restaurant. They have over 500 locations in Mexico, and operated there successfully for about 25 years before opening their first store in the U. S. Come here if you want Mexican food, NOT Tex-Mex. In Houston — and all over Texas really — you have to learn to take locals’ reviews of Mexican food with a grain of salt. It’s not because they aren’t telling the truth, it’s just because Tex-Mex is the barometer against which they measure Mexican food. And Mexican food isn’t all that similar to Tex-Mex, which results in very mixed reviews. If you believe that any real Mexican food can involve yellow cheese — or the terrible Tex-Mex abomination of putting nacho sauce on a burrito and calling it «queso» — this might not be the place for you. If you know that queso actually means cheese, and that in real Mexican food it refers to something like queso fresco, there’s a much better chance you’ll enjoy this place.

To be upfront my review is only on the chicken itself — since I love chicken. They could definitely do alot better on their sides and service. But the chicken is outstanding its very delicious. If you haven’t had charbroiled chicken before I would recommend at least picking up the chicken but possibly picking up sides from a store.

Wanted something different while visiting from the Dallas area. Reviews weren’t stellar but thought is give it a try on an empty stomach(most appreciative and objective then!). Got the Mexican bowl which was chopped up grilled chicken on top of lettuce, pico de gallo, rice, whole beans, sour cream and guacamole. Very tasty. Good spice kick and the whole beans gave a nice texture. Could’ve used maybe a side of salsa and chips but I’m on vacay so what the hay. Combo came with 16 oz drink for $ 8.04.

The chicken is the best thing there. It Is so good and juicy. I am definitely coming back for that. The sides wasn’t that good but the chicken made up for it. The meal portions are also extremely small

I have been eating here since it first opened. Such good chicken! You can hear it popping and sizzling over the coals when you walk in. I like this so much better than KFC because it is healthier. Their sides are awesome too. I love their charro beans. I usually order a pint and save the rest for another day. The chicken is really tender and flavorful. They use to have a macaroni salad with bits of corn and ham in it, but they no longer make it. I was so mad! It was really standard mac salad but something about it was super delish! If you are ever on this side of town and want something moderately healthy, this would be the place to go.

The grilled chicken was very tasty, but the sides and the rice pudding dessert we ordered were very low quality. Plus — no ketchup?

This is the 2nd Pollo Feliz we’ve eaten at, the 1st was in Cd del Carmen. The chicken seemed better in Carmen, but that might just be US vs Mexico chickens. Still very good, very inexpensive, very fast, efficient service.
