District 7 Grill

We came day before Christmas eave before a show downtown, so there wasn’t a lot of people.
I ordered a burger which was excellent! My wife ordered the paella which was ok but not great.
Very good and quick servcie! Wonderfull ambiance with a very inviting patio.
If the paella was better, I would have given 5*s

My first stop here so I let the woman at the counter choose what was great. She suggested the Blackened Mahi Mahi Picatta and that was a good pick. The fish was cooked to perfection and the noodles were perfect al dente. One part I wasn’t thrilled about was the noodles were just firm enough to keep flicking the sauce onto my shirt and I am not accustomed to wearing a bib. The flavor of everything was great but I would have a thicker sauce as not to decorate my shirt with splatter marks. At $ 14.07 for a lunch entrée it wasn’t a bad price for the quality of food, but they don’t really have waiters except to bring you the meal once it is done, the rest is self-​serve. That does seem more and more the norm which is sad, but I can manage.

The food here is delicious. Everything is was seasoned really well. If I was going to make any kind of complaint, it would be that no one’s food got to the table at the same time, so everyone wound up eating alone. Otherwise, the service was good. I’d definitely eat here again.

This place is a hidden secret! I work downtown and when I found out they had another restaurant on the East End I was Happy, Happy! They always have great food and service! They never disappoint! Try anything on the menu and it will be tasty! Guaranteed.

I came here because it was close to the convention center, where I was for a conference. This is a place where you order, pay, sit down with a number, and then get served your food (aka no service). I ordered the special of the day, which was salmon with pasta, along with the soup of the day which was asparagus soup. The soup was pretty flavorful, and there was decent amount. The main course was not as good. My pasta was lukewarm in some areas, hot in others, and the salmon was either not fully cooked or almost raw. Some of the fish was not entirely hot either. The first bite was delicious, but it got worse as I got to the thicker areas. Bah. The pasta flavor was light, and the fish definitely could have used more flavor and/​or sauce. The meal was expensive for the quality, although the quantity is good.

District 7 has always been a favorite! Tonight my husband and I shared a Naan Pizza, Spinach Artichoke Dip and the District Salad. Great food and great service. They have an incredible patio. It’s also a great place to go for a small party either inside or out. If you haven’t been here you need to try it!

Yummy burgers (I got the Kobe and my husband got the bison), big and really cute outdoor patio. You order at the counter and they bring you your food, I thought service was really great! Seems like a good place for a group too, they have a few big tables and it wasn’t crowded when we went (Thursday evening). We will return.

I went with a group of 5 people and everyone loved their meal except for me, unfortunately! My friends let me share their meals and I was prepared to leave a happy camper, but the waiter saw that I didn’t finish my food. He asked me if it was ok and I said I didn’t really like it, but that it wasn’t a big deal. Before I knew it they had delivered a delicious slice of red velvet cake to our table! We enjoyed the cake and we’re still relaxing in the great atmosphere there, when they brought me a new dish to take home with me! I was thrilled with their customer service and all the dishes that my friends ordered, I will DEFINITELY come back!

I had the Mahi Mahi Salad. I didn’t care for the pita/​croutons but the Mahi Mahi, salad, vinaigrette combo hit the spot. I will definitely be back.

None of the regular staff were working tonight and what a horrible experience. I had to repeat my order 5 times before it was entered correctly. Then when the lamb chop arrived it was over cooked to the point of being ruined. The re-​fire was no better. The dish is supposed to be served on risotto, but I got the dreaded ring mold rice pile. My advice is if you see that the regular crew is off, turnaround and leave immediately.

Girlfriend and I came in at 12 (noon), just beating the lunch rush. I ordered the Original Moof, she ordered a chicken and pesto flatbread pizza. The food took about 10 minutes to prepare.
The environment is diner style. Order at the bar, find your seat. The tables are obviously from Chilis – any foodie will recognize them.
The crowd got larger closer to half-​past the hour, which we were expecting. It got loud but you didn’t have to raise your voice to converse with your table.

Yes Yes, I like the pasta and the lasagna, not a huge fan of the foie gras bread but everything else was super good.
You come in, the menu is on the board and also paper menus, you can order at the counter. Grab your own drink, and wait for the food. It gets delivered and you eat. It’s a pretty nice place. Very convenient.

The Bison Burger was top notch and the sweet potato fries were pretty decent. The staff was polite, and I was able to get a table immediately. The food took a while to come out, but I am okay with that as long as the food is good.

Such a great place! Food is phenomenal! Perfect spot to relax inside over a glass of wine and tasty salad… or grab a pizza and chill on their awesome patio with your dog. Highly recommend!

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review of this place yet! Each time I’ve come, I’ve ordered something different and have yet to be disappointed! I just wish they delivered (minus 1 star)
Over my past few visits I’ve had the Asian Seared Salmon, Toga burger, and shrimp salad. Their Salmon is great; it’s not too «fishy» and not too «slimy» underneath. If you don’t know to what I’m referring, then good for you. You’ve had good fish before. Their burgers, as mentioned by other reviewers, are delicious! This particular burger has pesto in it! It just takes it up a notch in classiness! And, their shrimp salad was perfect; I didn’t feel shortchanged on the shrimp or the leafy parts, which was nice.
Also, free soft serve ice cream for those who need it.
This is a great place to watch a game, have some good fast food, or grab some take-​out. I hope to be back!

One of my favorite pasta places in Houston. They service a delicious array of pastas burgers and sandwiches. My favorite thing to get is the Salmon Pesto Linguine. It gets quite busy during lunch so I suggest going early or later in the afternoon. They also started doing dinner service Tuesday — Saturday.

Reminds me a lot of Beck’s Prime. A place where you have the broad choice of all kinds of tasty dishes. They’re not all perfectly executed, but well enough considering you can get a foi gras topped burger, seared ahi tuna, artisinal salad, pasta, or fried saefood all at the same place. If you’re with a group of people looking for a good lunch that covers everyone’s cravings, you’ll probably be safest heading here.
Exterior of this District 7 again reminds me of Beck’s Prime, with a good sized outdoor patio nestled underneath a large sprawling tree. Inside is smaller and more casual compared to the downtown location. You walk up to the counter to order and take a number for your food. Table tops are tiled and laid back.
Service was prompt, but you don’t get waiter service after the food shows up. There’s a station for utensils, condiments and drinks, so it’s pretty straightforward.
All in all good quick lunch spot with a wide variety to pick from on the menu.

Ive been several times. Usually the service is fast, the food hot, prompt and correct. Today I visited in a party of 3. We ordered a Kobe burger, wagu burger and sushi tuna burger. Woman asked if I wanted fries, I asked if it was included and she said yes so I got sweet potato fries. Turns out theyre not included and cost an additional $ 2 each. Way to lie.
We got our number, grabbed a table, and proceeded to wait 20 min for her to arrive with a wrong order Angus burgers instead of kobe and wagu. So we waited another 10 min for them to fix our order. Then she appeared and realized the 3^rd order wad wrong. She had a tuna salad instead of tuna sandwich. So 2 of us had our food while the 3^rd waited another 10 min for her food. When it arrived, the portion of $ 2 fries were tiny. Very disappointing.
After dinner, we wanted some of their free ice cream but it was empty/​out of mix. We asked the service about it and they said its not filled on saturday which is a complete lie because a table was eating some when we arrived. Fail.
Last, we noticed they had messed up at least 2 other table’s orders. Overall, disappointed we tipped well before getting service or food. Lesson learned, dont tip til its earned!

I have been to district 7 several times and really enjoy the food each time. I will say that this is by far the best location (midtown is weak). The outdoor seating is really nice on a pretty day.
Be warned for those of you who don’t like animals are bugs that there are stray baby kittens that may appear every now and again but they are harmless and just want to look. There are also flies. I mean you are outside so hopefully you are freaked out by nature. If you are just sit inside.
The food is always great and I usually just get a salad or the Parmesan crusted chicken sandwich with pesto and sweet potato fries.
They now offer free, self serve ice cream cones for those who like ice cream. I don’t so I passed.
