I can not believe I stumbled into this place. Although it had no signage I was thirsty and then found out they had food. Lunch was incredible. It has a real neat feel to it sort of like a diner but more artistic. The ladies that work there are all real nice and helpful and they sell everything including beer and wine. So getting a good lunch was a bonus.

Best little surprise in Houston. I was in town for a couple days and forgot to grab dinner before 9 (when everything closes). I went here and had the BEST steak ever… And it was out of a little corner store. Great food, outstanding chef and staff, fascinating business story. This was an amazing experience and one that I look forward to next time I’m in Houston.

We are living in Houston House temporarily and was surprised how reasonable the prices are in this charming little place. We asked them if they sell eggs and they do. In fact, they will sell us anything that a regular market sell, as long as they have them in their kitchen. Good to know! I only had their breakfast taco with sausage. For $ 2.05 plus tax, it was more than what I expected. We met the owner and she told us that the kitchen and the staff will try accommodate any requests. And she got me and my partner excited because she was raving about their chicken and waffle and Saturday pizza. Which according to her is home made and delicious. Based on my experience so far, I can definitely say that I will recommend anybody to try this place. And for the residents, please support their business. That’s the only way they can keep their business and keep their prices down. You guys need these people to stay in business.

Don’t let the façade of a corner store fool you. The chef working the kitchen packs a culinary wallop when it comes to food. Everything is made from scratch and prices are very reasonable for the portions that you get. From Friday night steak night to chicken and waffles on Sunday, next time you stop here for a sundry item, order something off their eclectic menu, or ask the chef to whip you something up, I promise you will not be disappointed!

This place has good breakfast. I’m a big fan of their breakfast tacos and burritos. However, anything else you order from them is mediocre at best. It is sad because this place used to be better.
When the owners were there and cooked, they had tasty specials. Now they have random staff cooking and the specials aren’t great anymore (e.g. I paid $ 10 for chicken nachos, expecting them to be great due to the price. When I got home, it only consisted of toasted corn chips, stale melted cheese, and a couple of pieces of red bell pepper and jalapeños, and a sparse amount of chicken pieces).
Totally NOT worth $ 10 and not tasty. I actually ended up adding beans, fresh veggies, and fresh cheese to them.
I hope the owners aren’t gone for good, this place has potential with them.

It’s really a 3 star but I’m giving them a 4 in hopes that they’ll read this. This place has potential!!! The food is pretty good and the coffee is ok. But I will tell you one thing, if their coffee was a little better, and if they had an espresso machine. I’d be here e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y. With the amount of people who live upstairs and across the street at skyhouse (not to mention a second skyhouse being built right next to it and the 5 story loft being wrapped up right next to that as well) they’ve got a foot in the door when it comes to caffeine. It’s easier to establish a coffee shop than an eatery in Houston. I hope they focus on that. The clientele is there, and not just from 8 – 5 M-​F like for most of downtown. This is one of the few pockets where residential living is being built up. Capitalize on it! Not to mention you have one of Houston largest bank call centers just across the street at 1801 Main. Those guys live on coffee and drive all the way to Starbucks in midtown (yes, drive). Imagine if they knew there was a coffee shop a stones throw away. Anyway that’s enough for today.

Best Chicken & Waffles! This place is the ideal everyday hang out spot. local, home cooked, and delicious food in a friendly atmosphere.

This place has breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, coffee, drinks. The food here is AMAZING. Try the chicken salad… you’ll thank me later. breakfast tacos and burritos are Delish and the chocolate brownies are to die for (especially when they are warm) and BONUS… breakfast is served all day. Eek AAll the food is made fresh but they’ll usually have some grab and go things like salad or diced fruit in a container if you’re in a rush. I’ll attach a pic of the menu so you can see the variety of foods this place has to offer.
