Superrrrr cute boutique shop right in the heart of the prime location that is rice village. Nice customer service and lots of cute dresses, skirts, shoes, and jewelry. Love how the clothes are organized by the different vibrant colors. $ 10 sale rack in the back and $ 10 sale on some sandals in the front of the store. Planning on visiting this place again in the near future!

I can always count on Em & Lee to find the perfect outfit for every occasion. The girls who work here are always so friendly and willing to help. My only complaint is that there aren’t mirrors in the fitting rooms. When I go shopping alone, I don’t want to have to go out of the fitting room to see the garment. Other than that, no issues! I will definitely continue to be a loyal customer. One more thing: you can only do returns/exchanges for store credit.

Terrible return/exchange policy. You only have 14 days to return/exchange/store credit. I shopped here about three weeks ago and purchased a pair of wedges ½ size smaller after being convinced by the sales associate they looked good. Upon arriving home they were uncomfortable and looked ridiculous. I desired to exchange them for the exact shoe in the appropriate size and I was told no! Not even store credit. I spent nearly $ 300 in their store. I planned on shopping for an upcoming wedding dress there but they just lost me as a customer. *The policy on the receipt states«Returns allowed within 14 days for Store Credit Only» No mention of exchanges. The sales associate attempted to track down my size at other locations after I complained. With my size being unavailable I was told No, No, No. If something isn’t in stock for an even exchange the store credit should be honored.

Love shopping at Em & Lee! I can always walk in here and leave with at least one item. Quality of clothes is good. Prices are good. They usually move clothes to clearance pretty quickly making room for new stuff. This is good and bad. Its good because you always have new things to purchase. Bad because one week you will purchase a shirt at full price only to find its half price the next week :-/. Oh well, its all about timing. Either way, prices are still affordable IMO. Happy Shopping

I just started shopping at Em & Lee this summer. Almost every week you can find me at this clothing boutique; week days after work I am at the Rice Village location, then on the weekends I am at the Sugar Land location(Town Center). I ALWAYS end-up with something. Their prices can be somewhat high depending on the brand, but overall the prices are good along with quality. Sizes and stock are LIMITED, so you will NOT notice another girl having what you are wearing.

I have 13 weddings to attend this year and there’s only so many times you can recycle a dress, especially with the same circle of friends attending the same weddings. A girl’s gotta maintain her image and her checkbook. Em & Lee was a great solution for cute cocktail dresses at a reasonable price. I came here upon the recommendation of Allie N. and I’m glad I listened! I had previously spent a bit of time browsing the sales racks of various stores(both department and independent retail shops) and couldn’t find anything under $ 100 and wasn’t skankified. I purchased a pale pink/nude-toned dress that was a poly-chiffon. It had a rouched top with a pleated skirt. It was $ 76(regular price!) and an appropriate length. They also have a variety of cute tops and casual dresses. It’s trendy but not too much. Although, the sizing is more like junior sizing so you may find yourself in between sizes. I appreciate the coupons they have on their website and facebook page. I got $ 10 off of my purchase because of that.

Located in the midst of Rice Village, this is a great place to stop and shop for that Saturday night date or Wednesday wine time with the gals. Prices range from quite affordable to a bit pricey and just vary by item. They have a great stock of dresses, but they also have accessories so it’s a complete outfit in here. I went with my mom and sister and we all enjoyed a good 30 minutes picking up fun ideas. I will definitely bring friends here in the future and keep it in mind for my fun outfit needs.

In my opinion, the River Oaks location has better inventory, but there are always a couple cute dresses here. I think this place carries a strong daywear selection and has a pretty decent variety of shoes, but lacks more«special event» outfits. Not a great selection of jewelry, but the ones they have are very reasonably priced(most of their necklaces are around $ 20). If you’re looking for something cheap and on the go(a la Forever21), this is not the place for you. However, if you’re looking for a more unique cute and casual piece to add to your wardrobe, check Em & Lee out. Like Gretchen P. said, Hemline still exists, but moved a couple doors down. Em & Lee and Hemline are under the same owners, so it’s a bit confusing why they’d choose to operate within the same block as each other.

In the ashes of Hemline, a new Em & Lee has sprung up. Hemline is still about, it’s just moved. I really like Em & Lee. If you’re looking for a last minute dress, top, shoes, or scarf for your night out, avoid University Drive and just head here. The clothes are affordable, but aren’t genera-hip(ie bland) like some other, cheaper shops a block over. You’re not really going to run into someone else with the exact same dress. And you’re not going to be wearing much polyester. The cotton to poly-fiber ratio is about 5:5 here which is saying something, especially since the clothes are relatively inexpensive and relatively well-made. Again, this sounds mildly negative, but last minute is last minute and I wouldn’t want you to waste your time either paying too much or getting a sub par outfit somewhere else. In fact, the last time I was here, I almost got a really cute, yet edgy strapless dress. Creamy white with a graphic silver, gold, and bronze pattern, and a fullish, layered skirt. Super cute, but I’m not certain how chilly or blazing hot New Years is going to be. Hmm. There are now five Em & Lee shops in town. Of the ones I’ve been to, including West Grey, I like this one the best. It’s the warm wood interior. I’m not certain if that’s left over from Hemline, but well, it’s more inviting. Also, there were no sixteen year old River Oaks prima donna wannabes flitting about.
