The reasons why I have a distaste for GameStop generally are legion for those familiar with one of my favorite need-a-chuckle light reading sites, . And I mean chuckle in the traditional lol sense, not the Stone Mountain sense you would be familiar with from Liz Lemon’s order of Carp Po’ Boy with Extra Chuckle from the roadside Fatty Fat’s Sandwich Ranch. However this one experience at the West U GameStop on my lunch break has definitely reversed the downward trend of what I think about GameStop. A partner at my firm kindly gifted me a Wii. I had never played a Wii before. So of course I owned no Wii games. I tried Target first since Target has hooked me up in the past with deeply discounted xbox360 games; but their Wii section is pathetic. I got on the Amazon to think about plan B but I didn’t want to wait a week for free shipping to happen. So I grudgingly decided to brave the 30 minute traffic filled journey from Greenway across 59 into West U so I could have a game in hand today. Keith is the man. He was super nice and provided the best customer service I have ever received in a video game store, the type of which store I have been visiting not infrequently as a consumer since Atari. This is a pretty small GameStop storefront but it was not arranged how I was used to, and I was also looking for the Wii section which I had never actually visited before in any other franchise. Keith kindly asked if I needed any help and he was then on the case looking up in the system if they had what I wanted. He tracked it down for me and as he rang it up we discussed Fallout 4 and other Bethesda properties, which was one of the most pleasant vidya conversations I’ve had with anyone in real life. Almost like how things used to be back on /v/before LamerGate and their acolytes tried their damnedest to ruin everything there was left to ruin about vidya that the studios hadn’t already destroyed with the concept of DLCs. But now I have The Force Unleashed I &II for Wii in hand so when I am not admiring my photography skills underlying my photo selected for inclusion at the Winter Street Studio’s photo exhibit on Saturday afternoon, I will be having a coveted gentlesir’s weekend replete with binge drinking and vidya. I hope GameStop Corporate sees this and gives this guy a medal for outstanding customer service. Thank u 4 the nice, Keith.

Came to trade in an old Xbox for a PS4. Sam, who was by himself that day, handled all 4 of us(who had walked in at the same time) very well. He was cordial and helpful. I was impressed how he was familiar with every game each customer had a question about.

Decided to come to Gamestop to purchase a Nintendo 2DS and a game. Being a novice when it comes to portable consoles(purchasing for charity), I was pretty clueless as to what game an 11 year old would like. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and helped me decide on a game(Super Mario 2) that would be suitable for any age player. The space is small, but well kept and clean. Prices were similar to other retailers and if I decide to purchase a PS4/XBOX ONE I would make sure to visit Gamestop first.

Worst GameStop. Their gaming selection is for crap. My boyfriend and I brought back the two games we purchased only an hour afterwards. The two guys working there seemed to be okay but we didn’t get a receipt when we purchased the video games so they were giving us shit for that. Never returning.
