1. I was hungy. 2. I had the bibimbap, 3. and found myself satiated.

We tried lots of Korean places and this one is actually really good. Just decided to try this place because we wanted to get seafood tofu soup. It came out hot and stayed hot the whole time we ate it. Taste was good, just wanted it a little bit more spicy. We had the seafood pancake too, as an appetizer and it came out fresh and crispy as if it was just cooked, not sitting in the back somewhere like other places I’ve tried. Then we had the marinated beef ribs. So flavorful and tasty. The meat fell off the bones. Only down side was it was really fatty. We also complimented our meal with a couple bottles of peach soju. Really good combination. The side dishes were plentiful and whenever it got low, they refilled all our side dishes when requested. If you’re in the spring branch area of Houston, you have to try this little hole in the wall Korean restaurant. We are definitely coming back to try more dishes.

My favorite place. We love the waitress and bulgogi dish, kimchee chige, yuk gae jang. Pretty consistent most of the time lol. Love the shike after meals. So refreshing.

I’ve been wanting to try korean food for the longest time and saw good reviews about this place and its authenticity and decided to dive in! The atmosphere is not anything special, I was welcomed by a young guy by the door. I took a look at the menu and decided to order the bulgogi combo and kimchi jeon. It took about 30 minutes to make my order, a woman gave me some rice water which was surprisingly good! The bulgogi came with 7 sides; cucumbers, kimchi, seaweed, sticky rice, and some other sides unknown to me. all I know is that they were delicious! The kimchi jeon was good as well! I definitely want to go back and try something a little more adventurous! (Spent about $ 40, but you get a TON of food!)

Excellent food! The server made several suggestions and explained how to eat the dishes properly. My waitress said the think of her like«mama» as she fixed my lettuce wrapped bulgogi with bean paste. We will definitely go many more times!!!

This place was confusing to find like other reviewers said. It just says«Korean Restaurant». But we doubled checked the address and knew we were at the right place. The waitress was super nice. The good was good and spicy. We got the spicy seafood. It came with rice and 7 small dishes. We also ordered the oyster pancake. That was good but the oysters were really small couldn’t really find them. We weren’t sure what to order but the waitress made a suggestion of ordering some meat rib and soft spicy tofu soup so good. Very full at the end and plenty of food to go home. Spicy too

I was a little worried when I walked in and the owners did not understand what I ordered in Korean, but I got my order in and it was great. Prices are great and the food did not disappoint. Whenever I eat Korean I always order WAY too much food so we had many items on the menu. Flavor was great and they have the best Korean pancake I have ever had. Pan chan was good, no daikon but you can buy it next door at H mart if you need it like I did(it is a must for me with jajangmyun– noodles with black bean sauce). Stews were not watery and were perfectly spicy and salty. Korean BBQ meats were aggressively seasoned which is how I feel it should be done.

Not sure if this place has a new owner or what, but my last visit to Go Hyang was awkward and kind of lackluster. The food wasn’t as good as it was previously and the waitress was really terse; felt like it was due to my husband and I being a white couple. If this is the new standard of business here then that’s a shame. I’ll be taking my business down the street.

This place is amazing! The service is excellent and the food! Oh the food is delicious!!! We had a kimchi pancake, jap chae, bulgogi, miso soup, and all the yummy side dishes plus some soju. Everything tasted great and the staff was really friendly and nice. The wait was not long. This restaurant is officially my Korean go to!

Service here has gone way downhill, a year or so ago the service was great, I always had this guy waiter but in my last three trips it’s been this one older lady. I’ve come to believe that she will only treat you well if you are Korean because every time I come here I’m ignored while she helps her Korean clientele. Fine fine but she never checks up one party or even looks at us when she’s taking our orders. Today was extra special, she was watering the plant next to us while taking our order. To top it off she slams our receipts on the table without so much as saying a word. Won’t be coming back.

I was excited to try the dishes here and was unfortunately disappointed by the food. Maybe I have my own mind made up about what I like, but after trying the foods I usually like here, I was left feeling flat. The depth of flavor was just not there. It especially was not there for the price point. Now, the people were nice and I cannot complain about the service, however I don’t think I will return here.

All my korean friends always complain that Houston doesn’t have any good korean food, but after going here, I would disagree. This place is GOOD and you can tell it is different when you begin eating. It is right across the street from Super Hmart so great place to go pre/post grocery shopping. Things to order: — tteok guk/tteok-mandu guk: the rice cake or rice cake + dumpling soup is so good, really because of the broth. So delicious — pajeon: the seafood pancake is SO good and huge! I split it with 3 other people as an appetizer of sorts to the dishes we each ordered, and we walked out with leftovers. But freshly made and great balance of pancake versus ingredients. — banchan side dishes are good and a bit different than the ones you find in other Houston restaurants. I would say, I think the side dishes are fresher if you go in for lunch as opposed to dinner. — soondubu was solid. Their hours are a wide range, consistently filled with people for lunch and dinner even on weekdays. Service is pretty good too. I also like the feel of the restaurant, feels established but also worn because so many people come and go. Like a childhood teddy bear you always come back to and have fond memories of.

I need to update new review. I was very disappointed today… the restaurant is Not the one used to be. no idea what happened. Me and my friend ordered«cold noodle(Neng-myoen)» and«sashimi rice(whoe-dot-bap)». Shockingly, the cold noodle was really bad. The taste was very artificial. The soup supposed to be based on beef broth, but tasted soy sauce and some other sauces. We both agreed it was worse than an instant cold noodle. The sashimi rice bowl was like ‘you can cook better this’… Sides are tricky because it looks fine and tastes ok. However, when u know other korean restaurant, you can tell the selection are nothing special. I have no idea why. I am wondering if the previous owner is not working any more, or if I was super unfortunate experiencing bad food(?)

I saw the positive Unilocal reviews for Go Hyang, which prompted me to check it out, only to find I’d been here before but forgotten about it. Maybe that’s because I wasn’t THAT impressed? I split the bulgogi with my friend. The meat was fairly flavorful and tender, but didn’t seem like the best quality meat. I liked some of the banchan – particularly the cabbage, cucumber, and potatoes. The fishcake was pretty tasty. But overall, it just seemed pretty pricey for what it was. And when I asked for more of the banchan, the waitress gave me a look of… displeasure. It’s not bad, but it wouldn’t be my first choice for Korean.

Small mom and pop Korean. Very family friendly place. Lots of families dining… great place to bring the kiddos. Stopped in for lunch with hubby… first time here. We were going to try one of the meat dishes but I already pulled out some gorgeous rib eyes we’ll be having later on for dinner tonight so we decided on keeping lunch light. Which is extremely difficult with the wonderful aromas wafting our way, from the other tables, while we’re waiting for our Tofu and Seafood Soup. They are taking their sweet a** time getting the soup. Sorry, but I’m getting crabby from hungry… Ok good. Got the soup. Was it worth the wait? Yep… Hot, flavorful not too spicy yumminess. The assorted veggies we ordered to accompany the soup was equally good. Service was very attentive and in all actuality the wait was not long at all. Just a hungry girl getting a little crabby… hubby & I will definitely be back to partake in the bbq.

Since one of my best friends is Korean, of course that qualifies me as an astute judge of Korean Restaurants! What I like: it’s definitely 100% authentic Korean. The selection is large, and varied. The English description is complete. Service is fast. The kimchi selection served with my Bulgogi was generous and the waiter offered refills. What I didn’t like as much: The bulgogi comes to the table already cooked. I was hoping to grill it myself. But in fairness it seems most of the Korean places here operate the same way. The atmosphere is more diner than I like. Will I come back? Yes.

I had visited this place a long time ago… I’m not sure if the owners were the same. As for the recent visit, I gotta say I was very impressed. I’m still learning to appreciate Korean food so my expertise is limited. I ordered the Dolsot Bibimbop and I enjoyed it. The portion was big, the meat had good flavor and the rice was nice and crispy in the bottom. Our table got Japchae(glass noodles) to share and those were pretty good. However it was not as good as some of the other versions I’ve tried(my favorite Japchae is from Seoul House on Bellaire Blvd) All the side dishes were good. My favorites were the kimchi and some sort of savory egg custard that I don’t recall seeing in other Korean joints. The service was a bit slow and our waitress was a bit absent-minded(had to ask for plates but otherwise I really enjoyed this place. I want to come back and check out some of their other dishes.

This place is definitely at the top of my life of favorite Korean restaurants in Houston. Go Hyang would be a place I would recommend people to go try Korean food for their first time. In fact we did that recently before a Halloween party. The first thing you’ll notice is how nice and clean the restaurant is. Most of the Korean restaurants in Spring Branch are located in old strip mall buildings. Go Hyang still have a nice clean feel. The menu is extensive as it would have just about the basics of all Korean food. Their rotations of the small side dishes have been fresh tasting and delicious. The price is fair as well for Korean food. I have tried their mixed rice(bibimbap), their pancakes, the seafood tofu soup, and even some of the family portion share food. All of the visits I have been here have not disappoint me. The service is also attentive and they are gladly to refill any of the side dishes when you request for more.

I would say this is so far the best Korean restaurant I’ve been to. I’ve been to Tofu village, Jang Guem Tofu & Bbq House, Korean Garden, Seoul Garden and on and on… These places are not bad, they serves nice food. But I felt Korean Restaurant food are the most authentic and delicious one. Here is my brief review: Environment: Small and neat, they have these classic décor stands to separate tables which gives you more privacy. Service: You know how some Korean restaurant waiters/waitress would be nicer to Korean speaker and kinda mean to non Korean speaking customers? Well it’s not the case here, everyone is nice and they take care of your need, they refill our side dish plates very fast and always smiling, big bonus. Food: We tried their pancake, grill chicken with special house sauce, cold noodle, noodle with octopus, mmm, everything is fantastic! They are so flavorful, chicken meat is tender, pancake is huge and not oily. All dishes come with rice, soup, mine come with seven side dish, I’m not huge fan of kimchi, but fish cake is so good that I have to ask for more refill! Only Downside: It may because they are mom and pop shop and they make everything fresh, so the food is not going to be served super fast, but it’s still reasonable wait time.
