A definite hole in the wall, in the shopping center directly across hwy 6 from discount tire. I was able to take advantage of their lunch special which is 6 days a week from 11−3…it includes a gyro, fries and a drink. Apparently, they no longer have fresh cut fries, because mine were frozen ones you would find anywhere. The gyro was a good size with ample meat and tasted like many other gyro around town. It wasnt too saucy or too dry. Overall, I wasn’t blown away by anything.

Amazing chicken gyro. Two gyros, two fries and drinks for two and it was under 20 dollars. I believe this place has been around since the eighties. The place is a dump, in a sketchy but safe shopping strip. Yes, food is better than the overrated Niko Nikos. The pita was ever so soft, stuffed high with chicken, and decent fries. I will certainly go back. We left a nice tip to the guy who took our order we were so pleased. Great food that doesn’t break the bank. Delicious!

I love this place. Hands down the best gyros in Northwest Houston, and for the price and quality, kicks Manny’s Cafes ass. Lunch special at Manny’s(gyro, fries and a drink) is $ 12.98. This little gem it is $ 7.95. What? And the lamb is so much tastier. The salads are great as well but come here for the Gyros. Yes, it is a mom and pop place and bless their hearts for making such wonderful food. You even get a 5% discount for paying cash. It’s in a small shopping center but so well worth your time and the drive if you are in the Northwest Houston area and craving some friggin awesome Med/Greek food.

I’ve been coming here since highschool and this man is amazing! Food is delicious!!! It looks run down but this mom and pop shop will be better than any other gyro place you go to. I’ve gone to many different places near me and I still drive 20 minutes just to get his gyros. It looks like he gets no business but Beware during lunch hours though, this place will be so packed that you’ll have to wait. I usually order ahead of time for Togo and he gets it done quickly for me!

I was VERY hesitant with coming here. Being pregnant kind of makes you worrisome of mom and pop places. Is the food fresh? Will I have to worry about e-coli? Well, the food here is VERY freshly made. There was a constant stream of customers starting at 11am. I guess I’m not the only one who takes an early lunch. The fries are perfectly crunchy and seasoned. The gyro was still piping hot when I arrived to my destination. I will definitely be back.

Been coming here since I was 15, and it is the best gyro in town. I have been disappointed with every other gyro because Aboss makes the best. Don’t be fooled by humble appearances, everything here is the best. And remember«It tastes better when you pronounce it ‘yee-roh’!»

Been here a couple of times, and it’s definitely a hole in a wall, super easy to miss. I gotten both the lamb and chicken gyro for after workout meals, and they scrumptious. However, the chicken can be a dry so some extra sauce helps(extra 35 cents). I also order the philly from here it doesn’t compare to the gyros. Reason being, it is quite oily and the flavor is unbalance where you can’t taste the mushroom, onions and cheese. Tl;dr enjoy the gyro that are amazing! :]

Stumbled upon this gem. The food was prepared fresh and was seasoned to perfection. My husband and I ordered gyros, fries, dolmades, and baklava. Everything was so good! I live in San Antonio but I lived in Houston I would take advantage of their lunch special.

Love this place! This is one of those perfect examples of a hole in the wall place that tastes amazing! They put a lot more of that lamb meat in their gyros than niko nikos. The fries are okay, not bad. Don’t let the appearance fool you because the food is mouth watering and pretty cheap.

I really wanted to love this place because of all the excellent reviews. At first glance I had to drive around a bit to find this place because it was hidden in a rather sketchy parking lot. Aside from that, calling this place a hole in the wall is a bit of an understatement. It looked pretty run down. There was absolutely not a single person in there when I went in to order which was a little odd. I did not like how the guy that made my food had no gloves on and it didn’t look like he washed his hands after I paid. Aside from that, I noticed that they cook their food really close to the register, so I could almost see everything that was being done. I noticed that they weigh the amount of meat put in every gyro. I thought that meant it’d be a small amount of meat per gyro but I was pleasantly surprised that they were overloaded with meat. I give my Gyro a(4⁄5) it was huge and delicious. The pita bread was soft and the tzatziki sauce was yummy. My fries were over cooked to a crisp so I wound up throwing them out. One of my main gripes about this place is that they have such a tiny menu. I wanted a lot more options! If you’re in the area and craving a gyro… it’s worth stopping here because they’re yummy and definitely not expensive.

I really love the gyros here more than Niko Nikos. The gyro is very filling, flavorful and NEAT. It doesn’t completely fall apart and I’m not getting the yogurt sauce all over myself. The French fries are good too! They aren’t really crispy but I’m okay with that. I do think it’s a bit pricey but it’s worth it for the quality.

If I have a gyro(yee-row) craving, I always come here to indulge. Its location isn’t in the prettiest but don’t be fooled. It is a mom and pop type of establishment that may need some finer furnishings. It is comparable to Niko Niko’s in my opinion. It probably took a good 10 minutes before I got my food. Gyro(4⁄5) meat is crispy on the edges without being dry. There is a lot of meat stuffed in the pita bread… To the point where I had a few meat slices fall out. Fries were freshly cut, and the Greek salad is pretty good. I just wished they cut the olives into pieces. Pita bread is soft with ample amounts of tzatziki sauce and onions. Everything was seasoned well. If you are to-going your order, then ask for them to separate the salad from the fries and gyro. For my recent trip here, I decided to to-go my order without separating the salad. I came home with a soggy pita bread. Bleh. Menu is pretty limited, but there are only two workers at Gyros & Shish Kabob. Lunch special with a drink and gyro platter costs $ 7.99, 11AM — 3PM. It is 5% off when you pay in cash. In conclusion, great value for the money. If you’re looking for gyros, this place is it!

Okay my first time and I was kinda sketchy since it’s a whole in the wall they have maybe 6 dining tables. not good for big groups. The lady at the front was nice. I’ve been wanting to try this place out for a while now but decided to try today since I had time to spare waiting for my awesome nail lady Julie to be available next door at Amber nails. I ordered a chicken gyro and salad with a bottle of Ozarka water for around $ 10. I took it to go and ate it at my nail appointment. The food was packed nice and neat but I wish the dressing for my salad was put in a separate container. it kinda spilled out of my salad a little when I opened it from the styrofoam container. The gyro bread and chicken were seasoned well as well as hot and fresh. The tiziki sauce was plentiful and so were the onions and tomatoes. I definitely will be back for another gyro in rhe future.

The food here is good, especially for the price. The aesthetics of it is nothing special. Just a hole in the wall place with a couple of tables. I’d definitely order to go next time. I got the regular gyro with fries. The meat was nice, not too crispy. Pita bread warm and toasty and the sauce that comes with it really pulls the whole thing together. I rated it 5 star because of the food and price. If you want a fancy atmosphere, this isn’t the place to go. But I will definitely eat here again, and probably get it to go.

Visited this location for our weekly date night off of the recommendation of another Unilocaler. This particular part of town has a few Mediterranean options within a few miles of each other. We were in the mood for gyro and had already recently visited Mannys which was up the street. This location is very easy to miss off of Highway six. It is in a very trashy looking shopping center and I almost missed it because the sign was not very prevalent. Walking inside you can definitely tell that this is a mom and pop type of establishment. There was a gentleman in the front who took our order who we told we came here from Unilocal and that we heard he was better then Mannys. He immediately told us that his food is way better but I’m a tough critic when it comes to good Mediterranean food. Their menu options were very limited and they did not have a highchair for our daughter. We ordered the gyro and were ready to pay for it. What was interesting is that when we told him we were paying with cash I saw our total immediately adjusted. I scratched my head and asked him do you charge more if you use a credit card? He nodded his head quickly and changed the subject. I hate when businesses charge more when you use a credit card versus cash. That is a violation of the terms of their credit card machine contract. Because they are charged that surcharge for the convenience of offering their patrons the ability to use a card instead of cash but that surcharge is not supposed to be passed on to the consumer. Our food came out within 10 minutes and the french fries looked a bit on the greasy side but were very good. The gyro was a nice size but it could’ve had more lamb meat. All in all we may try the chicken Gyro if we come back but I give this place 1 ½ thumbs up out of 2. I think Mannys has this place beat if you were looking for gyros that are nice portion and the restaurant is much cleaner and less seedy looking than this place

First visit I would have given five stars if it wasn’t for the wait, but I probably deserved it. I got there at 19:30 and they continued to serve the steady stream people well after 20:00; which is their closing time. Falafel sandwich was massive! They put a lotta falafel on their sandwich, with lettuce, tomato, and homemade tzatziki sauce. I am sure their falafel is homemade and fresh, but I didn’t ask. French fries were great too.
