Landed in Houston for my extended vacation. Beautiful sunny Tuesday, great foods, and having a good time in the city. Until I came to this barbershop to get a haircut(great rating in Google Maps). All that southern hospitality was gone within seconds I walked into the door. It was not clear if discrimination was the issue(I was the only Asian guy there) or a nice skin fade was too difficult. A barber took me to a chair near the door and started to conversate which I had difficulty extracting the key points so I remained quiet and the other barber told him not to scare away the customer. The whole process of getting my haircut was uncomfortable and paintful due to the roughness, i felt that way and thought the barber was doing it on purpose. Felt such a relieve when I paid the barber $ 20+10 for the tip and leave(didnt even know if 20 $ is way too much or doing everything big is just a Texas thing). I traveled to so many places before and never had such a terrible experience and hopefully not because the color of my skin.

Cliff is the family barber and has been for a few years. Call ahead of time he is one of the best in Houston so you might need to make an appointment . Prices are reasonable and his service is the same every time with adults as well as children any hair styles. I live in cypress and drive all the way here for cliff at this specific shop.

This review is from what my girlfriend told me about this place when she went for the second time but without me. Y she came back second time? Cuz they messed up her hair the first time! 1. This barber shop is 90% men, both workers and customers. Both the workers and the customer stared her down and supposedly the customer was a friend of the worker(s). Can you not make the eye rape not obvious? 2. One of the barbers asked her«where’s your boyfriend?» TWICE! As if I would magically appear in the 5min span that my gf was there after the fact she already made it known that i was at work. 3. The first time my girlfriend got a cut here, from the barber that cuts dead in the middle of the shop directly in the doorway, the barber told her it would be $ 10. She gave him a $ 20 and said keep it. When she came back the second time to have the same barber fix it, she gave him $ 5 and said thanx and tried to speed out ASAP cuz she felt like she was being mentally raped by every person in that shop. The barber proceeded to chase her down and YELL at her for paying him $ 5. That $ 5 was only for tip sir. Why is she to pay for your mistake when you are the professional she is going to to have her hair cut? And it was a 2min trim. $ 5 for 2mins isnt enough u greedy pig? SHEGAVE U $ 10TIPFOR A $ 10HAIRCUTTHEFIRSTTIME! SOSHEPAID $ 25FORTHESAMEDAMNHAIRCUT!!! $ 25 for a men’s haircut with no shave/shampoo/towel at a men’s oriented BARBERSHOP? You dont even have the fancy words of beauty shop or salon and u want $ 25 for your mistake? You want my first born and car too? 4. The same barber from #2 also told her, «once he finish cutting your hair, ima give u a trim.» My gf, taking that literally, said SURE. The barber then said, «Not that trim. The other trim.» What other trim is there sir? I’ll let you all interpret this one on your own. I think this guy is married with kids. SMH 5. The barber cutting her hair was tugging on her shirt and she felt/heard her bra popping. When are u ever allowed to tug on ppl’s clothing? Especially on women… near the bra area? 6. This area doesnt seem too safe at night in the gessner/richmond area. Dark neighborhood so it feels very unsafe for my girlfriend already and for her to have such a great experience the first time and to feel like she was gona get mugged and raped in the second visit is honestly not that shocking. TYPICALBARBERSHOP. This place needs some porn breaks and less barbers becuz clearly yall wanna eye rape every piece of ass that walks in. Can u pigs at least not make it so obvious? This was the exact reason why I did not want to bring her here in the first place becuz i already had a feeling this place was gona be that type of establishment. PLENTY strip clubs down the street WITHIN A MILE!!! WOMENSTEERCLEAR!!! Easy to act like dogs Hard to act like kings

Decent place. Lol@the previous reviewer having to state the race of the barbers. That’s like being surprised that million dollar thieves are 99.9% white.

Some days are bad and on those days you make bad mistakes. Today was such a day for me. I made a mistake and entered this place for a quick haircut. This place was filled with 99.89% african americans. I enquired a person whether they accept credit cards. The answer was NO. Also he showed me where the bank of america was(which was near by). The whole haircut ceremony lasted for 5 – 8 minutes with a machine. he cut my hair so small in spite of asking not to. This is the bad part. The person named MOE cut my hair and he charged me $ 20. I came out of the store to find a sign board that says $ 10 on TUE&FRI(FML right). They charge people by their looks. Its located in one of the aweful places in houston. My good guess is that if you go there in the evening times, you might even get ROBBED.
