I’ve been here twice and twice the food sucked. They seem to cook only frozen food, which in my book is a big no-no ESPECIALLY when you put the term«eatery» in your title. They could maybe(maybe) be forgiven if they were a pub that served food as an ancillary part of their business, but that’s not the case here. If you’re hungry, don’t waste your money!

First thing I noticed when I walked in was how clean it smelled. Which is so weird for bars. Other than the fabuloso smell the service was great. Sara is my favorite bartender ever!

It’s very hard to recommend this place. Service is extraordinarily slow, and the bartenders seem to make a game of playing hide and seek from their customers. I’ve honestly never seen anything like this before. I kept expecting the camera crew from one of those«Pranked» shows to pop out and reveal the joke. I ordered the Shrimp Rangoon as a appetizer and wished I had taken a picture to show on Unilocal.Five star-shaped rangoons were delivered… four of them absolutely burned to a crisp… we’re talking seriously incinerated here, folks., and one of them looked seriously undercooked. I cannot believe a restaurant employee would have the courage to serve something that looked so awful. The place does serious business hosting college alumni groups during the fall, but I can’t imagine anyone coming here otherwise.

Cool place, the food wasn’t bad, good atmosphere(the Texans are beating sea). The bartender was somewhat absent minded though. I will come back and I suggest you check it out

One star for the location, another for their trivia. But their beer and service are both terrible. I’ve been there twice now. The first time, all their beer taps were down. The second time, their taps were on but several of the beers ordered at my table tasted and smelled«cheesy» or like cider. Both times, only one server was circulating throughout the bar, slowing down service considerably. When my table complained about the beer, the bartenders tasted what was on tap and agreed. We tried another beer and it came out just as rancid. The server genially admitted that as she brought it out, she could smell the cheesiness, but«wasn’t sure.» No apologies or comped beers arrived with our checks. Also, all of their items are overpriced. $ 6 for draft Saint Arnold’s? $ 11 for a thoroughly mediocre sandwich? Go elsewhere.

We came here to watch the Texans/Bengals playoff game. Food: I only had an appetizer, the HP Peppers. They are chicken breast-stuffed bell peppers that are fried and served with a ranch-like sauce and a sweet chili sauce. These were really good. Drinks: They have beer towers that hold 128+ ounces. Stays cold with the frozen cylinder they drop in. Also recommended. They also have a decent selection about 20 beers on tap, with some local favorites. Service: Service was good. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the different beers on tap. Rec: Good place to hang out with friends or watch the game. Admittedly, I had been to Hendricks before right after they opened and didn’t like it because of the service. I recommend it now, especially because there is plenty of parking.

Saw this place passing by… gave it a shot… FAIL. The Bartender(pretty, but not bright) was not up to par at all. There were 24 selections of drafts & she was not knowledgeable of any single beer besides only being skillful at pouring them. She even admitted«oh, I am NOT a beer drinker» & she was not able to multi-task. Really??? Not what you want to hear at a PUB!!! However the waitress was very nice & helpful. Choices of «eatery»…same ol same ol… wings, fingers, fries, etc. Overall, if waitress had not been so nice, this place would’ve received only 1 star. My advice… see this place; keep driving.

Came here last night for a Happy Hour that my company was throwing for a customer. The bar tender was super accommodating when we walked in and said we’d have about 20 people coming. He quickly pushed together some tables for us, told us the specials and got us our drinks. Granted, the place was dead on a Thursday evening, but he still did a great job. Throughout the evening as more people showed up, he kept up with our drinks and brought out a few appetizer samplers — wings, fried pickles, and HP peppers. The wings and pickles were pretty standard, not amazing but still pretty good. The peppers, I’m still not sure about. They tasted like tofu more than anything to me, but supposedly had chicken in them? All in all, it was a good night and the total price was pretty low! Nothing stellar here, but not a bad place to stop in and check out.

This place has pretty damn good food for a bar. I got the Chicken Quesidillas and my friend got a burger(don’t remember which) but we scarfed down all of it! I also ordered the fried pickles and was disappointed that it wasn’t the chips. Will definitely come back sometime to watch a game and enjoy some more good food.

I had the fish tacos. THey were like something I would throw together from leftovers in the fridge — nothing to write home about. I liked that they were loaded with cabbage. I haven’t been eating enough vegetables on this business trip to Houston. First place I ever had Mirror Pond pale ale. I liked that beer — it’s a typical pale ale. It’s also the first beer recipe I brewed. It’s too loud. Turn the TVs down. You’re not missing anything important when baseball is on. It get’s a star for the $ 1 pool table. In 2012, that’s a bargain.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to go anytime I’m in the UKD(for anyone who isn’t aware, thats Upper Kirby District.) Not only because of the area, especially during Christmas-time, but because of the atmosphere. Its definitely not the bar you go to on game night, but a any-other-night kind of night. Possibly my favorite part is the patio outside, its smaller, but it looks right onto Kirby, and I also met Andre Johnson as he got out of his car to go into Roak next door. I’m assuming this is why Hendricks became my favorite place. I never know when I might run into AJ, or Foster, or JJ Watt…

Ugh, not a very good place to come for a drink or food. Two stars because they try to have a good beer selection. The front part of the pub is typical with an island bar and booths/tables scattered about. Several TVs turned to sports. The back is a little strange. An arcade, really? Anyway, you have to walk back to the arcade area for the bathrooms. The kitchen is semi open as well, with a bucket piled high with old discarded food visible. Kind of nasty. The service is slow, and the food takes forever. Speaking of which, just very below average pub grub. The chicken wings tasted frozen, like something you would buy from the HEB frozen section. The burger tasted like the grill has never been cleaned. The beer list was good when they first opened, but now they are basically out of everything of interest. Don’t come here.

Such a great bar. Lots of seating and the bartenders have always been friendly. It’s never that crowded here and the clientele are always smoking hot. It’s filled with trendy hot girls. Think of a hot Miami club but a little more casual. It seems like all the hot girls come to this bar. Mind you, that attracts a lot of deuchy guys but it’s always been fun when I drink here. The prices are reasonable $ 7−8/liquor and they have lots of beers on tap. Definitely one of my favorites!

Went here on Sunday, terrible, three out of the three things that I attempted to order they«did not» have. But wait, they did actually have ginger beer as the new shift bar tender later told me, I guess the guy we had just didn’t want to make the drink. FYI, it was dead, time was not of the essence. It just sucked and I left there unpleased! Ambiance: Affliction shirts and trash that goes with it!

Chill Bar with friendly Bartenders… especially Jet! A group of us stopped by for pre-party drinks and food. The pizza was OK, but the fish n chips were really good. Lots of tap beer to choose from, as well as seating/TVs. It didn’t hurt that 2 of the Texans were there… Barwin and Reed! They kindly took pics with us, then we left them alone to hang out =) Will be back, it’s pretty casual like most pubs.

Must admit, Hendricks experience started bad but took a 180 and ended well! I admit, it was my bad valeting on a Friday or Saturday night. $ 20 in case you were wondering; but that’s due to the hot spot next door. As we walked in bewildered at already being down a 20 spot, we found seating outside the bar area,(we weren’t trying to talk over the live band). Our server took a minute to greet us, but she was so cool and helpful that it didn’t matter. So many times I’ve tried to eat at gastropubs or other bars that claim to take pride in their food only to walk away feeling cheated. That was NOT the case here. Hendricks has the best cheese fries I’ve ever encountered: Melted aged white cheddar cheese, crumbled chorizo sausage and garnished with chives. They were FANTASTIC! Plus they had some tacos that were like $ 1 a pop; and decently sized. This«Pub and Eatery» provides more than lip service with regard to their food. I love the location, the staff, and their pricing(they could charge higher prices and get away with it). I’ll be back. But next time I’m not valeting.

This is one of four new bars that’s housed in a building that I think used to be a funeral home. Morbid ;) I think what was funnier was when I would drive by here at 2am and see hordes of the beautiful people spilling out of what still looks like a funeral home. As for Hendricks, beer here is pricey with most drafts on the beer menu cost 5.50 or more. Food was more reasonably priced and I enjoyed a margherita pizza, even if the crust was harder than I am used to. My bartender Barbara was very nice and chatty. We talked about styles of beers and how she likes to rave about something new when it impresses her. Heh. Temperature was freezing especially during the day when people are coming in from the hot summer in t-shirt and shorts.
