When we lived in Houston 15 years ago we would frequent Iguana Joes. This location is new and happens to be on our way to Austin as we travel. Even with it being a different location, it still brings back great memories from days past. The food is just as good, the service fast, wait staff friendly, and clean as I remember. The entire experience was great and the food delicious. We will come back next time I drive through Houston.

Very friendly staff! Had chips with salsa and a green sauce. Loved the red sauce. Chips were average not bad for being free!!! I had the 2 margaritas one with big red and orange crush both were yummy!!! My husband had a cadillac margarita it was yummy but on the strong side for me personally. Then he had a micheladas very delicious! Over all had a great experience for our Sunday night!!!

Red sauce is consistently inconsistent. It was wonderful till they changed their recipe.

Went there today for lunch We were sat in the back, which is fine. The problem came from the other patrons and their crying children. We sat nearly the entire meal with 2 separate families near us just allowing their children to cry at the top of their lungs while they sat there and did nothing. When we told the waiter about it and asked for the check, he just said«I’m sorry, I will bring you your check.» Not to mention that we only saw the waiter 3 times during the whole meal. Once when he took our order, once when he brought the food, and once when he brought the check. When my wife approached the manager about it, he seemed apologetic and agreed that the server should have offered to rectify the situation. That would have been great, had he been more attentive. Needless to say, this will probably be our last trip to Iguana Joe’s.

Food is decent but the best thing at any of the Iguana Joes is their queso. Bad service is a usual, you can often find managers cooped up in the office with the door open. Yes, you can see it.

Only been here once for lunch but had a great experience. Awesome family friendly atmosphere, huge kids menu and free soft serve ice cream for dessert. Good was tasty and fresh.

Our service was great, very attentive. I got the piña colada and it could definitely use some more pineapple taste or something, very bland. And the food was mediocre. Probably could make our dishes 10x better at home. Kinda disappointed.

Decent place. Decent food. Nothing remarkable or exceptional about it. I doubt anything is actually cooked at this place. everything seems to come from page and taste kinda pre-made. Great drinks. cool atmosphere.

Ordered Joe’s burrito with beef. The tortilla was hard the steak fajita meat was small and diced. No side of rice or beans and for price was a little surprising. Good point was the chips and salsa.

Food was too over priced. My boyfriend ordered cheese enchiladas and his plate was too hot to hold but the enchiladas were cold to the touch. we told the waiter and we’re given a new plate and given a discount. Probably won’t go back.

I come here often for lunch, they have really good lunch specials. Friendly service and addictive chips and salsa which they are always refilling for you with their handy salsa jugs. Their tortilla soup is really good. I also like getting their shrimp brochette. Don’t forget to get your free ice cream after your meal.

Come here with tex-mex on your mind. They do have some«authentic» Mexican plates on the menu but I’m insure of their actual authenticity. I had the lettuce wraps — a tex-mex twist on an Asian dish. It was delicious! However, my girlfriend ordered stuffed avocados, and got a plate of what seemed like melted cheese. We saw some green in there so maybe that was the avocado? But it was definitely unappetizing. It looked more like fried cheese with a couple of chunks of avocado in it. The service was great. We were even provided with salsa refills, which was also great. Oh and they micheladas aren’t half bad.

Love the chicken enchiladas with the amazon sauce(which is made of cilantro). Beans were great! Rice was meh… gets the job done to soak up the beans. Cons –no real hot sauce on deck – they offered tobasco –chips are so bland … And just plain weird. –free ice cream tastes like it has more ice than cream. Im tempted to try their burritos but that enchilada just hits the spot every time!

It’s not good. Not good Mexican food in specific. Not good food in general. Will not go back.

An overall great experience. Upon walking in the hostees greats you with a smile on her face and directs you to your preffered seating location. Shortly a bus lady will show up and drop off the tradiotonal chips and salsa. The staff overall is very attentive and helpful. The bartenders are really good and will make any drink requested. Last but not least the food offered comes in great vatiety and offfers some dishes unique to the location.

Honestly so gross. I personally prefer the more authentic approach to Mexican cuisine but I do the tex-mex thing every now & then but the food here is just, nasty. I have no clue why I went back the 2nd time. it’s cheaper than most tex-mex, maybe that has something to do with it? I don’t know. Wouldn’t recommend this garbage to anyone.

I went here with a group of 3 on a Friday night… they were busy of course. We got a pager and waited for 15 – 20 min or so, and then when it went off we walked back up to the hostess, and she gave our table away!!! I think her name was like Mary or Mari… i forgot. Our waiter was nice, and the plate i got was pretty good. It was some sort of chicken stuffed with spinach i think.

#Caution# I have been a vegetarian for over 20 years– was very irrate to find out their menu labeled«Vegetarian» menu is not– it has lard in the beans. I guess somehow the corporate guys gave the green light as it «does not have visiable meat» beats me– but it needs to be corrected.

I’ve eaten here several times with my co-workers and for the most part I would say this is an OK place for lunch or dinner. The theme is unusually interesting with cartoon lizards plastered all over the walls, and they offer complimentary soft serve ice cream on your way out. Appealing enough, right? But every time I come here, I order something different and yet for some reason I feel like I’ve been eating the same thing over and over. I think it’s because all their dishes re-use the same type of ingredient: Nacho cheese, re-fried beans, seasoned rice, chips, sour cream, chopped lettuce, and then even more cheese. Same stuff, different combination and choice of protein basically. Overall, their gloppy & crispy concoctions are pretty tasty and filling but will sure leave you feeling gassy and bloated after wards. Real typical side effect of Mexican food I say. The free chips they give you to start off with comes with two sauces: red and green. The red one(salsa) tastes terrible and nothing like salsa, but I can’t seem to stop myself from eating the green«guacamole» one. I don’t think it’s made from real avocados though because the texture is almost like old milk but without the skin and is too brightly colored. The service is usually a hit or miss. I’ve had a glass of water spill on my lap from a young waiter and he didn’t seem too apologetic nor empathetic — though, I won’t base my opinion on that instance. Usually they do a good job of taking orders and getting food out on the table. There just seems to be a lot of young inexperienced waiter and waitresses working here straight from high school. Personally, I think if you want really good Tex-Mex, just go to Papasitos. Iguana Joes is nowhere near close to their food or service. The only advantage they have is the cheaper price.
