IHOP

The food wasn’t made to the order. The location was not busy. However it took 30 mins to get pancakes! the thing they are known for. Wow then the customers next to us are informed by the manager that their car was broken into. He didn’t bother to call the cops nor go outside with the paying patrons. This is why IHop is constantly on the decline list for me. Best part of the experience was when it was over!

I am writing an update on this IHOP because somehow they have managed to keep the improved service and cleanliness consistent over the last couple years. I have yet to pop in for the pumpkin pancakes this year when I had to wait more that a couple minutes for a table or had a bad waitress. It’s nice to let fellow Unilocalers know places can keep me coming back and do not let things go bad after making it better.
I go here usually when the Waffle House on Westheimer is packed and I don’t feel like waiting too long for a table. And I go here for the pumpkin pancakes during the holiday season.
The menu remains the same as always. It’s IHOP. You get the same everywhere. So just get whatever eggs, bacon, pancakes you want. It’s breakfast. (I never get anything but breakfast here.)
They do have some weird airplane beverage cart that comes around now to get you your juice. But I do want to commend the management for keeping the place clean and the service staff friendly and on point.
There are a lot of hotels right here on this section of the tollroad. If you stay at one of these. Go to this IHOP during your stay.

Note to Management: Staff do NOT take their breaks on the floor! I should not be trying to have a meal listening to your staff sit in the booth next to me when the whole restaurant is empty talking on his cell phone. Calls should be taken in the break room or outside. Shoot or even in an empty section of the restaurant. So unprofessional. Training is essential. This should be common sense.
Besides that our waitress was great and the restaurant was clean. But the unnecessary personal conversations on their cell phones in front of customers is unacceptable.

I made a decision to stay in on Halloween and have a breakfast sampler and watch scary movies… I did NOT regret my choice ! I got it to go (even its better severed there) but the person who look my order was nice !

IHOP, IHOP IHOP… Breakfast was good, nothing spec about it but, on a lighter note it is IHOP. Hot cocoa was quite tasty, visit overall satisfactory.
Meal: (2) Omelettes hearty ham&cheese and the other had steak/​mushrooms w/​sides of blue berry pancakes& hash browns warm syrup.

Late night breakfast. Our servers name was Leah she was incredibly awesome! Very friendly and kind. The food was very quick, fresh and good. It was late at night so the place was empty. Only complaint I have is the temperature it’s super cold in that place!

Worst service ever. The server had a toothpick in his mouth while taking our order.
I thought it would be a good idea to order from the new crêpe menu they got. So I ordered the crêpe combo with ultimate bacon platter.
When the plate came to the table my ultimate bacon plate consisted of one bacon, hash, one sausage and two eggs so this is what IHOP calls ultimate.
And why do IHOP still use canned fruits it’s not like they have McDonald’s pricing.
Overall food was horrible, service did not make the experience any better. Just disappointed.

Super slow service… I ended up walking out. The host said she’d be right back and didn’t return. Several employees came and didn’t acknowledge any new people waiting to be seated. First and last time at this location.

I love coming here with my mini-​me. Regardless of what the other reviewers may say. It depends on the time of the day and day of the week you go that makes all the difference on the restaurant operates. The peak times, you’re going to have some mix-​ups (excusable unless the waitress spills an entire pot of coffee or a plate of eggs on you) and some wait, because they do get busy.
This location is so close to my house and my daughter also picks the Chicken and Waffles for her breakfast. During the peak breakfast and late night hours, there is a wait of usually 30 minutes, but honestly that’s way better than waiting on LePeep during Sunday Brunch. Portions of food are congruent to what you pay for and they really do try hard to make sure your meal is cooked right and the service is speedy.
Beware: if you come close to 1am and especially on the weekends, you’ll get a crazy atmosphere of drunk, impatient, obnoxious and rude customers. Some of the servers will look stressed, and the restaurant atmosphere will change, as well.

S L O W service w/​no explanation from wait staff/​manager. When the manager did come by I felt unheard with no offer to compensate. My bacon was HOT, my eggs were not.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars! Worse service I have received in a long time.
Came here on my birthday, with the intent of using my birthday email (first mistake)
Waitress (Tiffany) sat us with an attitude.
Took forever to come back to the table.
When I tried to use my email she told me no it has to be printed (get with the times IHOP)
When I spoke to the manager (Thomas) was rude, kept rolling his eyes and could care less about my lack of service.
The waitress hand the table off to another waitress unknowingly.
Now I will say that waitress wasn’t bad. (Mariella)
The food was typical ihop nothing to rave about.
If you can DONT choose this location. There are other ihops in the area. Save yourself from the unneeded eye roll and bad service.

Went there around 12:00 am wasn’t extremely busy probably each server had about three or four tables to tend to. Was brought to table and gave our drink order. Then we were never asked what we wanted to eat. Took twenty five minutes for a young lady who wasn’t even our waitress to feel bad becuz we looked starving to take our order. The manager noticed us looking crazy too. So the attentive girl took over our table and we still got shorted one soup and silverware which I went and got myself. But at that point our waitress was overwhelmed. She still got a great tip but we PROBLY won’t be back there anytime soon the food was burnt. But better that than undercooked. Boooooooo!

Love their Chicken Florentine Crepes. Listening to oldies on the speakers… I must say that I had excellent service from Jessica. Refreshing to be attended by a very pleasant, cordial, and prompt and excellent waitress. Be sure to come here and have Jessica attend you.

Just another ihop restaurant… service is ok, food prepared nicely, environtment of dining area was also good.
Overall it was just like other ihop restaurant…

Not sure what it was but the cook did not care about his customers. I had to have two omelettes made over because either the meat inside was cold, cheese not melted or he had placed so many onions inside that I thought I was biting into a raw onion.
Manager offered to have it remade a third time but I didn’t trust the cook to do right. I ate my pancake n left.

I’ve been to this location a couple of times and it’s a hit or miss on the service.
I’m talking COMPLETE WRONG ORDER, to the point that I just got up and left.
BUTTTTT…I have also been here where i had outstanding service!
The food is just as good as the ihop closer to the galleria beside Bubbles car wash.
I love the fact that they have a fresh and fit menu! Hits the spot for sure.

This is my second time here. Both times for breakfast. I was greeted both times by Alejandro who also took my order. He is very courteous, friendly and accommodating especially since it is morning time. The food is fantastic, they make it fresh to order so it takes a bit to come out. I love going to Denny’s but they have been seriously slacking. I have found my new spot. IHOP is it!!!

I’ve been coming to this location for years, and it used to be pretty reliable. Over the last year, it has really gone downhill. Service has been terrible, we sometimes wait 45 minutes for food (which is wrong when it comes out), and the quality of the food has also been questionable. There is no reason why eggs should feel crunchy in your mouth. So gross.
If you want breakfast, try Buffalo Grill or Egg & I. They are way better.

It’s an IHOP so food is pretty standard. I appreciate how you substitute things without an additional fee which is rare. I went at around 9:30 AM on a Saturday and it was starting to get filled up, but since my party was small (2 people) we got a table quickly.
Our waitress seemed a bit tired and didn’t really engage in conversation too much which was fine. She let me order from the kids menu without a problem so that was a plus. She never came around to ask us how we’re doing or if we need anything so we had to call out to her to bring us our bill.
Before she brought the bill I asked if she could split it and she said «We don’t do that anymore.» I have learned that whenever people refuse to split your checks it’s usually because they themselves don’t want to deal with the hassle, which can be understandable when it’s like more than 5 people who ordered a bunch of stuff; however, I was just there with ONE other person. And we both only ordered one thing so it wouldn’t have been that hard. The service overall wasn’t that attentive and the staff did the bare minimum but I guess they still completed their job so it was fine.

I agree with another reviewer who wrote that the day crowds and service crew is totally different from the night crowds and crew.
Over the Christmas holiday, they seemed to have a ton of people working during the day. Everything moved like clockwork. Good food, fast waitresses, speedy table clean-​ups. The couple of times I went here during the day, things buzzed along. We were seated immediately, and the food was delicious. We still miss Norm.
