By far some of the best techno music I’ve heard in the city they seem to be bringing in these big artists from around the world and I got a new sound system is pretty killer the whole room is on fire the crowd was nice the staff very courteous I can’t find anything bad to say I love this place!!!

I’ve been there twice to hear the live band«Klock work» which is a really good funk band, I can agree that it is small inside but I still on both occassions had a great time. They have drink specials for people like me that’s on a budjet. Drinks could be stronger but what do you expect if the drinks that I choose are on the drink special menu. The same band is playing this Friday for Valentine’s Day. Yay! If you can, come oput and party. The are charging 10.00 at the door though which is quite much I must say but I had to realize that I am partying downtown. Chow…

I can’t speak for ‘prime time’ — I was there after hours. A nice long bar runs adjacent to the dj/dance area, and behind the bar is a semi-private area with tables and couches. I liked the layout — there’s was a little something for every occasion: music, bar lurking, or socializing. The music was good, with a steady flow that easily fades into the background as you move away from the main area. The crowd was mixed, with all types, if a little rough around the edges — you gotta use them elbows sometimes. Overall, it was decent. It wasn’t «omg can’t wait to go back», but if someone suggested heading over there again, I wouldn’t object.

This place was on the small side. And the Patio was tiny too. I had an ok time there but I was only there about 1 hour. That is short for me. If I like a place I will be there atleast 3 hours. The performers on Sunday were rappers and the first group was cool. I did enjoy them some btu the next person performing I could not get into any of his songs. I know that does not effect the score for this place tho but just something to think about if going. The cover was $ 12 per person the doorman said but a big sign on the outside said NOCOVER tonight. I was confused and pissed about that. False advertisment made me feel like someone was pocketing the cover. IDK I just know there has to be better places to go on a Sunday night. My cousin that went with me was not dressed up and some places require dressy attire and by it also being Sunday my choices where limited. …

This place sucks. It’s so small. You walk in and feel like everyone is looking at you small. Outside area is a joke.

Drum & Bass every Tuesday night! Plus great drink specials! I was, however, disappointed when Drum and Bass became Electro, Techno, Breakbeats, and House music… I was there for the DnB. Maybe they’ll learn the difference one day.

This is probably the worst experience I’ve had yet as a promoter in Houston. Bands, DJs, anyone who is looking to book a show. Don’t do it unless you get a contract signed by the owner of the club. This was my mistake but since I had the confidence of working with the owner in the past I made the mistake and didn’t force a contract on them. The staff will end up pointing to each other blaming each other for the«miscommunication». If there was an apology in there it wasn’t enough still no one has come forward to apologize or try and rectify this issue. Stay away from Jet Lounge if you support local music and respect them for their trade.

Owners double booked two separate gigs on the same night and screwed over a friend of mine who was set to DJ — beyond not cool. Forget professionalism, such lack of simple respect does not deserve your business!

Would get 4 stars if had more than one beer on tap. I wasn’t even there to drink that night, but it just seemed strange. Hope they are getting something under the table from ZiegenBock. I actually like the split nature of having the bar in the middle with the wall on one side, it makes for a nice place to hang out if you are not specifically paying attention to the band playing. It is a little bit of a walk if you are coming from the GRB or even the Toyota Center, but I suppose that just keeps the people I don’t want to see there away. Bit of a bonus, and I don’t mind the walk if I’ve already parked somewhere for the evening.

I’ve been here multiple times for local shows, and I can recognize that this place definitely has potential, but it just isn’t cutting it. First of all, it is such a small space with the bar located in the middle that there really isn’t enough room to dance or even enjoy the bands. There is a lounge area on one side of the bar where no one really ever sits because you can’t see anything from there. Secondly, it seems like the a/c only works about half the time at half power when it does. In Houston, air conditioning is a must! I’ve also noticed that some of the staff there tend to be a little rude to patrons. I’ve sat and watched as a bartender kept picking at a patron until the girl(who was drunk and shouldn’t have been served that long) finally lost it. That is just on one occasion, I’ve noticed other unprofessionalism with some of the women that work there. Finally, the drinks are a little too overpriced. While they do have specials the times I’ve been there, they’ve either been something totally strange or they run out early. I’ve had fun here, but would I ever choose to go here on a night without a band? No way.

I really like this place, not much seating and the décor is not the best but they always have the new upcoming local and touring bands play there. The sound is good and the stage is good height for everyone to have a good look at the musicians. I’ve played several times and I’m surprised how this place is never fully packed. It’s close to Toyota Center, so after a game you can check out a band just a block away but Houston peeps don’t seem to like the«obscure» locations, more bar popular places with TVs and beer jugs :/ p. s. Their cosmos are very tasty

I give Jet Lounge props for still trying to make it after being open forever. The design of the place is terrible the bar runs length wise down the middle of the room backed by a floor to ceiling CEMENTWALL which makes trying to see a show a giant pain in the ass if more than about 25 people are there. If you do find a decent place to see the sound is actually not something to complain about. The biggest reason I will never go to this place again $ 4LONESTAR and $ 5WELLS!?! Are you kidding me this isn’t Toyota Center, House of Blues or Warehouse Live its a crappy old building with a decent paint job and rude and clueless bartenders. Good Riddance to this place.

I’ve been to Jet Lounge a few times to support friends of mine who are djs. It’s right beside the old Engine Room in south Downtown. Not a bad location but a bit out of the way. There is plenty of parking in the area considering there are very few other bars around. A definite plus on cold nights as you’re running to your car! The layout of the bar is major disappointment. The second you walk in the door you are given the choice to walk left or right. Left takes you to the front of the bar and the stage where the headliner is. Right takes you to some couches. The problem is there is a wall separating the couches from the other half of the bar. It’s as if you were being punished for sitting down and hanging out since you’re completely cut off from the other side. The designer should have thought about this beforehand. Considering I’m fine with the drinks and sound system, all we need is a demolition man in there to break down the wall! Think Berlin!

No cover on the sign outside, walked in and was told a ten dollar cover! There was no one in there, skanky guys outside; and smelled like ass inside.

I know, I know. My beloved hometown is a bit behind the curve. In other city, they have these things called«lounges» where they have DJs who spin electronica, great ambience, and a chill atmosphere. You’d think with how many million people in the surrounding area, someone would have travelled to foreign lands(outside of Harris County) and said wait, I bet we could use one of those funky«lounges.» While this is a venue for all sorts of music, I came specifically to hear a real live DJ spin wax(or its digital equivalent). I was not disappointed. No bouncer. No line. No BS. Just music and a chill atmosphere. What they could use? More extensive bar, for sure. No diet coke? If I can get a diet coke in China, would it be so much trouble to ask for one in Houston?

So jet lounge was only going to get three stars but the art work won it another. I went on Sunday to see the band«Make Your Escape» play, which by the way was awesome! It’s not typically the music I listen to but I was pleased by what I heard! The art work here is Awesome and a must see, they even have reward posters up for stolen art work so my guess is this stuff is pricey and they all look like one of a kind pieces. The bartender was acting like he had a million customers and not enough hands! I dont know if he was new or just not that great of a multi-tasker but he was actually giving me anxiety watching him. His heavy handedness made me up for it though. The vodka selection could have been a little bit more up to date, but overall I was pleased with the night. Great atmosphere, not overpriced and great show!

Went to Jet Lounge this past Friday and was pleasantly surprised. I went to meet my friend who was shooting a video of a band performing there that night. I was a little hesitant given there was a cover, and the name of the bar made me think it was a generic downtown trendy lounge that had no flavor and probably had a bouncer at the door who had a traumatic experience with tennis shoes at one point in his life. But much to my surprise, the bar had more of an Austin-ey divey feel to it. The cover was only $ 5 and it was because they had a showcase of about 5 or 6 bands performing that evening. Some good, some insanely horrible, but nonetheless, it was pretty cool. Very nice bar staff too. When I asked to change the channel to CBS to watch the NCAA tourney, they did it with no problem. Drinks were relatively cheap also. I only give it four out of five starts though because the location is not great. It is not really near too much except for the Toyota Center. It is more of a destination bar, or you would definitely have to have a plan for a taxi or DD to take you somewhere else after you are finished at Jet.
