I love this place but the French Onion Soup is awesome, however it is never hot enough to melt the cheese.

Rude staff when trying to order. Seemed to be bothered that we were there. Lol. Unusual ordering process and staff was aggravated when we asked questions.

These are the worst egg Benedict I’ve ever had. Lumpy, powdery, and cold. I will only return for sweets and coffee, o and quiche… Very disappointed…

Great food as always but the service sucks. There are not many people here, but it took 20 to bring out a very simple dish. And when the dish came out it was not complete.

Very very slow service. I ordered my food and it took 15 mins for it to come out. They forgot my baguettes with my order I asked for them and it took another 10 minutes. The place for quiet not many people were here. I went up to ask again for my baguette and the manger said he was sorry and brought it to my table. As I was leaving the manager did give me a gift card which was nice, but does not make up for the lack of service.

Milk tea is virtually impossible to find in the Meyerland area until today, I found it in the unlikeliest of places. I have been looking for a casual place to get some work/light studying in. The Starbuck’s nearby is crowded and always packed but I saw La Mad and remembered all of the space here so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the wi-fi here is very wanting. 1 Mbs down… 0.2 Mbs up… Wha? I had to watch online lectures so needless to say, too slow. However, despite that, and back to topic, I found the best replacement of milk in the area. Now, you won’t find it on the menu, but all you have to get is get and order of Iced tea — $ 2.50, fill your cup with as much ice as you want, then, fill ‘er up with their Mango tea. Put in some half and half about 1 tablespoon and sugar(I used half a pack of splenda) to taste. Wow, talk about awesome. I drank 2 of these bad boys! I have tried Fioza in the area but, as my review notes, the milk tea was on the weaker side and the noise is also higher. I wouldn’t come here if I have to do serious studying but I wouldn’t hesitate to come here for a very reasonable milk tea fix and when I’m not almost going over on my data plan so I can use my own mobile phones wi-fi hotspot.

Not very clean. My salad was super soggy and wilted. A customer came up while I was in line complaining about food being stale. This location needs more staff for sure.

I used to really like this place but it is getting so expensive. $ 4.49 for a lemon tart is outrageous! Even though the food is consistently good, the prices are skyrocketing. There are too many restaurants in Houston with good food and desserts that give bigger portions than this. I can get better elsewhere.

I’ll have to say the food is good but that’s it the location is extremely crappy due to the prick who runs the place the general manager of this place is a fucking lazy asshole who doesn’t do shit and wants his employees to do everything as I have observed many times I’ve came here like god damn no wonder he looks like he’s about 6 months pregnant cuz he doesn’t do shit yet he runs the place how do u run a business when your not willing to work hard he treats his employees like shit and is extremely rude yet acts like he gives a damn he’s an inconsiderate fat pig who needs to stop eating up the whole bakery before he blows up

I came for breakfast with friends and it was pretty nice, but casual. The breakfast menu is pretty limited, but the portion sizes(minus the quiche) are very filling and reasonable. The staff was pretty nice and the food was pretty tasty. However, the women’s restroom was pretty dirty(for a restaurant.) Toilets were gross and it seemed disheveled. I’m not really sure how that got ignored, but it was nasty.

I really hate this location. They mess up my order every time. The first time I ordered a Turkey and Brie sandwich but was given a turkey provolone. The second time I ordered a box of almond croissants and was given chocolate croissants. This third time I ordered the same turkey and Brie sandwich and was given a turkey provolone again. I don’t understand what they are thinking. Brie and provolone sounds nothing alike. This 3rd time was Togo however and I don’t really want to drive all the way back. I called the manager and he didn’t even sound apologetic. I’m just tired of this place.

I have been at this place total of five times. I must admit the atmosphere of this place is quite calming. The prices are fair and the service is good. Unfortunately, the last two times I’ve been there I’ve got food poisoning. First time it was the afternoon sandwich for lunch after which I had to stay in bed for 2 days. Second time it was the French breakfast after which I was throwing up for the whole afternoon. I do like the atmosphere of this place, but it’s not worth my health.

I love the atmosphere. It’s great for a meal by yourself or catching up with friends in an intimate setting. There’s also a fireplace, which adds an excellent touch to the ambiance. Service: You order your food at the counter and they’ll give you a spoon, which acts as your table number. There are also quick options that you can get right away while waiting on the line(soups, quiches, desserts, certain pastas and sandwiches). Once you order, you have a self-service fountain drink station, utensil station, and coffee station. You would seat yourself wherever there is a table available and the server will bring your main order to you. When you’re done, you may leave your plates at the table and someone will bus it for you. Food: Love their choices. They have a good variety of healthy options.(They will even notate the dishes that are under 600 calories). Many soups, salads, gourmet sandwiches, and pastas. This time my friend and I ordered the turkey cranberry risotto off the holiday menu and the cordeu blue chicken bowtie pasta. They each come with a slice of garlic/butter seasoned toasted bread(which was delicious and goes pretty well with the entrée). The turkey risotto was tasty but it wasn’t hot, but it was warm. Good blend of flavor and seasoning. My cordeu blue chicken pasta was delicious! You have a plate of bowties sitting on a mild mushroom creamy sauce(I was so glad it wasn’t too heavy and thick), balsamic seasoned chicken, tomatoes, peas and a bed of mozzarella cheese. The portion was pretty generous. I had left overs and to my relief the sauce didn’t harden up over night(hardening of the sauce tends to happen when restaurants use crazy amounts of butter/lard). I’ve had their desserts in the past and they have never failed. I recommend their fruit tarts — yummy and light! Not to mention, you can sample their specialty jams with a side of bread(free). I’ll be back in the future to try something more of their amazing dishes. Tips: They also have takeout and patio seating. They even have La Madeleine wines. There’s a mini gift section at the front.

I always enjoy eating at La Madeleine! Delicious food and good prices. Healthier choices too. This is one of my favorite places for lunch. Really love the Turkey Bistro sandwich, Turkey and Brie sandwich, the Chicken La Madeleine dinner, and the Spinach Salad with chicken. Oh, and ALL the desserts. :) I’ve also had breakfast here a few times and it’s wonderful! This La Madeleine tends to seem frantic(regardless of how crowded they are). When it’s crowded, of course, I understand. But sometimes there will be like 3 people in the restaurant and the staff will act like they’re rushing around. Or maybe that’s just my impression. Regardless, the staff is always friendly, the place seems clean, and the food is always good.

Went to breakfast after church. The line was very short and moved rather quickly. It is cafeteria style where you order, grab a tray, move down the line, and find your own seat! I created my own egg white omelette with bacon, spinach, mushrooms, and tomato’s. This came with a croissant, which who doesn’t love buttery bread. Lol I also ordered a potato gallette and a lemon tart. Potatoes, cheese, and onions how can you go wrong? It was yummy and not overly cheesey. Now I love lemon tarts. This one was creamy, not very tart at all. I could have gone for a little more tart. The whip cream was good… but there was a LOT of it. I will definitely go back.

Great Cesar salad! It was 6.95 which was a tad pricey considering there was no meat on it. My husband had the chicken friand with sauce on top of it which he enjoyed, and my kids ordered the breakfast platter which they finished and loved! Good food and speedy service. No complaints except that’s it’s a little pricey.

Definitely one of my regular spots for something quick and comforting. My top recommendations are the potato soup w/extra bacon, tomato basil soup, chicken caesar salad, chicken friand, and potato galette… For breakfast, the french breakfast always hits the spot. They have a pretty good menu, and there is something for everyone. The flow of the place is kind of weird and it does take some getting used to. When you walk in there is the to go and dessert counter. Past that you queue up in front of a chef station where someone will take your order— assuming you want an entrée they need to cook. Past that there is a salad station, baked entrée station(chicken friand, quiche, potato galette, etc etc), then a soup station. Its confusing if you don’t know the flow. But once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy to navigate and get in and out in a reasonable timeframe. Parking can be a pain since both this place and escalante are heavy hitters for lunch. You might need to drive around a second time, or park a little farther… Oh— and if you get a quiche or chicken friand, etc. from the warm entrée section, you can be picky and tell them exactly the one you want. Always get the fresh poofy one!
