I sat on doing this review for a long time. This place is in a decent location. The atmosphere and décor is decent as well. One thing that worried me was this was some NFL player, someone who was paid to exercise, talking about being a good cook. I did find out about this place on Groupon, and all in all, I will say that I would not mind giving these people another try. 3 star review does not seem right… but maybe you will see why I rated them as such. The owner can cook. Plain and simple, that NFL guy can cook. He is not some skinny, or muscle bound guy either. This guy looks like he can cook, and he did not disappoint. He even made a special fruit punch for me. If he can clone himself, this place could easily be a 5 star experience. His staff probably cannot cook as well as him, and it is his business, so they are probably not as passionate as him. I arrived at the place and came to find the scenery and overall décor is pretty. My family and I were the only one there, so I knew service would not be an issue. During the dining experience, a few people came and did to-go orders. I had a Groupon so you know showing up with 3 other people, I wanted to see how much things cost. I was seated by the owner and NFL player and he was extremely professional and courteous. He told us about the vision he had for the place as well. When asked what I wanted to drink, I asked if they had any fruity drinks, and he said he would put together a punch for me. The drink was awesome… Was given a special events menu, and when asked about food, we went straight into entrée mode and the following was ordered: Cajun Shrimp and crayfish penne pasta — penne pasta tossed in a spicy, Cajun cream sauce with marinated shrimp, crawfish and peppers. Buffalo wings kid plate Caribbean jerk chicken — served with rice, peas and steamed vegetables All in all, I enjoyed all the food, because I nibbled on everyone’s plate. This guy can truly cook in multiple food categories. HEWASTHEONECOOKINGEACHDISH! Here lies the problem… he can cook well… not too certain about the staff. My first suspicion came when I asked for the refill on the fruit punch. The server said he didn’t know how to make it! Carbonated beverage it is to make it easy on you buddy. Also, because only one person was cooking the meal, timing was off from getting the meals… but you knew the food was freshly made. On a personal note, I don’t like shrimp cooked with the tail still attached. Do not make me have to slow down my eating process. All the food was good… I can’t stress that enough. The food was very well seasoned, and I have the utmost confidence that this NFL player is just as good in the kitchen as he was on the football field. I don’t feel as though the portion size to price was lined up properly. I do not like that the staff was kind of useless to the owner. As aforementioned, going here again would not be a problem because the owner can cook… but did he get help with the overall cooking and service yet? That is what would keep me away.

Came here Sunday evening 2 meet up with friends and watch the Cowboys vs NOLA. This place is definitely hidden. The drink selection wasn’t very big but the bartender pulled it off & was able to produce any drink requested(kudos!) Anywho, it’s a nice size venue good for any type of party. The wings/fries were on the menu for Sunday & they were a hit! Verrry yum! This place def has potential but 4 the most part, staff were nice & environment was quite and laid back. I’d recommend getting a pool table. I’d return again.

This place is a great place to meet and mingle, have great food, nice atmosphere, beautiful people and listen to R&B, live Jazz .I attended an all White Affair and is what so good to see people come out and party with some good old school music. I had the pleasure of meeting Vic who is a great host, he made sure everyone was having a great time by working the room along with his waitress and bartender! When my girlfriend and I was leaving he ask where did we park and walk us to our vehicles to make sure we were safe. Will definitely come back. PS, to the reviewers who graded this place a low score, give it another chance!

3 stars for the location and vibe. The food leaves much to be desired. My friend ordered the fried shrimp basket. I waited to taste her food before ordering. The fries were decent but the shrimp… OMGEASEUPONTHESALT! It tasted like I was eating spoonfuls of salt. I ate 2 shrimp before I couldn’t take anymore. Needless to say I didn’t order anything to eat. My friend left a whole plate of shrimp and fries on the table. The place has potential.

We tried La Vie Fusion because we had a Groupon. The menu is limited, but all the food was good from the wings as appetizer to the chicken and waffles, étouffée and more. The owner was very attentive and friendly. The location is not the best, which makes the restaurant hard to see from the street. But, it’s worth the trip.

I thought this place was great! We loved the food, the music, and then the Texans game. We enjoyed talking with the owner, a past NFL player. I recommend this restaurant. There were not many customers.

Im only giving this 1 star because Unilocal wont let me give none. Easily the worst dining experience of my life. They didn’t have a cash register amongst a million other things. Thank God the food was decent and I was amongst friends or the night would have been a total loss. #regroup #startover

This place has the best cajun food! I had the seafood gumbo and the cajun crawfish pasta. Both were GREAT! Vic the owner was very friendly. The prices are reasonable as well. I’m looking forward to checking out happy hour and the Sunday brunch.

Very disappointing. Ordered chicken, came out undercooked. Expensive for one piece of chicken. Bowl of gumbo was very salty, overpriced and very small.

I hosted my birthday party here; excited & anticipating an awesome dining experience. I work very hard & have had very little leisure time so I was looking forward to treating myself for a change. The website & menu for La Vie looked great. I spoke w/the Mgr several times that week regrading party details, service questions & menu options & he was very accommodating. I knew we were going to have the time of our lives as my guests too enjoy an invigorating dining experience. I was regretfully disappointed in La Vie Fusion & Bistro Lounge. Our hosting service was sub par with a stack of spotted forks that did not match followed by one«menu» which was actually a list of food items typed on a sheet of paper of which we had to pass around the table & share. My party consisted of at least 14 – 16 people. There were no prices listed on the menu. When requesting a drink menu we were told that the Mgr would have to share the selections with us because he had them all«in his head». This too was his response to us: «It’s all up here».(Pointing to his brain) Our food took a very long time(more than 30 mins) to arrive & did so in a scattered order so we could not enjoy our meals together. I even had 3 guests to cancel their order because of the continued delay. My dish along w/others were expressed to be too heavily seasoned with salt, so it was not a Cajun/creole or seafood misrepresentation. It was merely too much salt & pepper. When it was time to satisfy our receipts we discovered the meal prices had changed from what we were previously told; both by the hostess & the mgr. The discrepancy was long, tedious & highly discouraging as the Mgr attempted to insinuate we were trying not to pay for our meals. He sat at a table w/our money scattered, the receipts & a calculator. It was jaw-dropping to witness. We also discovered via conversation w/our hostess that it was only her second day & she had not been prepped or trained for her position. By the end of the night the Mgr had fired her. When I, the customer, attempted to share with the Mgr. that she did the best she could given the lack of preparation she had he refused to listen, spoke poorly of her to me, the customer, & wanted to offer us drinks. At that point I had had all I could take. We declined the drinks & prepared ourselves to leave. It is disconcerting to see a Mgr not value the words of his customer. I was continuously cut off when attempting to defend the waitress & express details of our erroneous dining experience. To sum it up; the place has potential due to its location & the venue but to experience a Mgr who does not value the expressions of his customer & has major fundamental flaws in the structure of the business itself leaves me to resolve that this establishment may not exist very long. I wrote this review as a fellow business owner & entrepreneur. I would like to wish this business the best but sadly I don’t see that manifesting.
