Staff is rude, even to regulars. They insisted I was too drunk to order after I had only had one drink. I’ve come here weekly for over a year and ordered one to two drinks tops every time. So disrespectful. As someone who frequently used to recommend this bar to others, I will have to recommend friendlier places like underdog or ladybirds from now on.

If you’re looking for good service TURNAROUND. The short haired brunette bartender basically made fun of my friend out loud because she didn’t know what type of drink she wanted. which caused the people at the bar to laugh & give her shit about it. Totally made her feel uncomfortable, I get it. It’s easier for people to know what drink they want, but don’t make fun of the ones who don’t. She also walked right past us along with several other people multiple times, only to grab her phone from her purse behind the counter & head into the back. I’ll be calling the owner of this restaurant later to further explain about our experience.

I’m giving this 4 stars because it was a great place to watch MNF with 4 $ karbach, 4 $ Rebecca creek & steak night. I ordered Rebecca creek with water and tasted like water. I couldn’t taste the whiskey at all. A couple of people around me got food(burgers, sandwiches, etc) that looked amazing! Service was pretty prompt. Good low key bar on Washington but nothing exceptional.

It’s a Wednesday night and I want a burger. It just so happens to be Burger and a Beer(pint) night for $ 10 at Little J’s. Unfortunately, it also happens to be one of the worst and definitely saltiest burgers I have ever consumed. The burger tasted like ground beef rolled in salt and a few other spices. I’m not picky, and I was happy to finish this burger even though it was torture eating it. It didn’t have any tomatoes, onions, pickles, etc that a standard burger comes with, just cheese and some lettuce. The fries it came with were also heavily seasoned and salty, but otherwise were a nice cut and tasty. I’m not sure if it was a particular chef or this batch, but all five of us that got burgers agreed it was unbelievably salty. Little J’s is a really cool bar with a good vibe. They have the outside seating and cornhole area, with a nicely air conditioned inside. The service was great too, and I’ll continue to come back, although I’m hesitant about the food.

This is a great place for food and drinks! It was very full when we got there but still found a table. They have plenty of tv’s and great specials! I ordered the mushroom and provolone burger which was HUGE! And the karbach Oktoberfest draft. Both were delicious! The burger was a little salty but I could only eat half. My boyfriend ordered the mother daughter(chicken sandwich). He said it was incredible, but also got salty after the first half. All in all, wouldn’t mind spending a Thursday night watching football here!

I love this place. Today is football Sunday and Jacqueline has been wonderful. She has taken good care of us from being sober to being drunk. Most bartenders are all about getting you a drink and nothing else. She has gone above and beyond. Btw that«Spin the Bottle Shot Wheel» really comes in handy with friends and strangers :)

I came for the connection Little J’s had with veterans, but stayed(and came back) for the great service, and awesome food. Little J’s is a bar that caters to military veterans, as can be evidenced by their wall of tributes to fallen vets. They host lots of events for veterans, including monthly cigar nights. As a Marine girlfriend, I’ve had a few occasions to stop in. My last visit to Little J’s was on a Monday night steak night. And while the steak looked awesome, I opted for a slightly healthier, lighter meal of their«Do you even lift, bro?» tacos. Just yum! Two chicken tacos with a yogurt sauce and a side of rice pilaf. I can’t wait to try the other things on their menu. And the owner(Josh) and all the staff members are super friendly and pleasant to talk to!

Met some friends here after a work out on a Saturday. Staff is very friendly and accommodating to large parties. Tons of games in the front and the back. Really awesome burger menu and decent priced drinks. Food is big enough to share. Feels like your friendly neighborhood pub! I will be back to try more burgers!

I started coming here for Geeks Who Drink trivia on Wednesday nights(top notch host!), and the frequent drink specials kept me returning on other nights. The place that does the food inside the bar is also solid.(Who doesn’t love a bacon menu!?) Highly recommended. Tons of games to play. Great dog friendly patio.

This place is within walking distance from mi casa, and I had never been here. Why? Who Knows? On a Sunny Saturday I decided to pop in for some crawfish and good old fashioned day drinking. The parking is kind of a B, but welcome to Washington. There is additional parking in the back. It has a small patio in the front, and some games like jenga, ect. The layout inside is pretty darn big, with flat screens and lots of tables. It has an open concept, which I like. Service was super friendly and on point, and the crawfish were decent, but not huge. Actually, they would have stood to be bigger and more spicy. But the beers were cold, and cheap, and the sun was out, so all was right in my world. They do also have a pop up restaurant, Bourbon and Bacon that looks pretty tasty. For atmosphere and service, 5 stars, for crawfish, 3 stars, drinks and price 5 stars. Without a doubt I will be back, especially since worst case scenario, I can stumble home.

Little J’s needs to get with it and fully embrace their kitchen counterpart, Bourbon & Bacon. They share a space in which the former operates the FOH and the latter the BOH. I recently reviewed Boubon & Bacon after my experience at Little J’s(thinking they are one and the same) and after being contacted by B&B’s owner, Little J’s customers would be well served reading that review and the updated review, both of which follow. ORIGINAL Bourbon & Bacon/Little J’s Review: Bourbon and bacon… Yes technically this is true, however misleading. The logo includes both«premium» and«popup eatery & libations,» while the name alone connotes gastro pub and craft bourbon cocktails. The reality is that this is a sports bar with bacon forward food. On the upside, they make an attempt to provide a basic amount of craft beers, not just domestic crap. They have decent food(decent sounding, as in I have not tried it) and different specials all week long, including all you can eat wings on tuesday. Also, bartenders are friendly and welcoming; Bar is clean. Bottomline: good wateringhole, misleading name UPDATED Bourbon & Bacon/Little J’s Review: Star rating remains the same, but I was contacted by the owner and would like to provide an update. Bourbon and Bacon wants to be what I first suspected it was: gastropub with bourbon and bacon fusion food and craft bourbon cocktails. However the sports bar they are sharing space with does not have this same vision. Bourbon and Bacon is only providing food for Little J’s bar: think food truck parked inside Little J’s kitchen. So they have no control over drink menu. This is an unfortunate situation. A tiny bit of effort from Little J’s with a few nice craft bourbon cocktails would go a long way, surely increasing sales and customer base for both businesses.

I enjoyed every second at this sports bar. We went for a dear friends birthday on a Friday. The place was packed & the music was jamming(old school hip hop) that night(not sure of other nights). I love a place where I can eat, drink and then dance to burn off the calories. Smart concept J’s! ATMOSPHERE: Best part! What I loved most was the DIVERSITY. There aren’t many bars/clubs in Houston where races«co-mingle» this is my opinion based off of residing here for over 15 years. To walk into a SPORTSBAR in the WASHINGTONAREA where OLDSCHOOLHIPHOP is playing and seeing faces of all colors dancing, singing, laughing and partying together is what is SHOULD be all about. Thumbs up! FOOD: Everything contains bacon! Which is a good thing if you like bacon. My group no so much. but you can get it without bacon. MUSTTRYS: «Freight Train Fries» and«The Mother Daughter! So good! They serve REVERSEBRUNCH starting at 9pm on Saturday! PARKING: Horrible. Street parking. Figure it out. Be aware of street signs.

Little J’s is a sports bar that wants to pretend that it’s a gastropub… Here’s a bar that offers your normal drink options, and they try to entice you with their interesting menu. The menu touts bourbon and bacon, so naturally it’s heavy on the pork. In fact, almost every item featured has a pork product in it, which I feel alienates a lot of people. I ordered the truffled fries, and they came out cold and undercooked. I immediately asked for them to be fried more, and it came back to me still cold, and now soggy. That tells me that the fryer isn’t hot enough(so the kitchen doesn’t know what they are doing), and they left it out for a while to let it get cold. There wasn’t anything special about the bar and their drinks, and service was just nothing to rave about either. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a horrible place to go, it’s just that with SO many options along Washington, you would expect that any place would want to bring their A game to get more customers… Little J’s failed at doing that.

So happy to have Little J’s in our neighborhood! It truly has the feel of a neighborhood pub. Love that we can walk there from home. Love the back door entrance off of Nett. The staff is always always always so friendly, helpful and are always checking on you without ever being annoying. We have started going on Wednesday for trivia and there seems to be a pretty regular crowd of trivia players as well as just bar regulars. They have a selection of arcade games as well as a basketball shooting game. They have a decent size front are for your corn hole toss. Plus some bucket game out back. The food is done by Bourbon & Bacon and holy cow! It is the BEST bar good I have EVER eaten. EVER! The French fries are a masterpiece! If you haven’t been to Little J’s you need to. We are so happy to have a true neighborhood bar!

Love the new location. At first I was a little annoyed that the parking wouldn’t be as good as the previous location, but I typically come for happy hour so I’ve always found a spot in the back lot. Having a larger patio is a nice addition too. I still love that this is the only place in town to watch a TXState football game, Eat ‘em up Cats! The beer selection has been great lately and also Bourbon and Bacon is there full time in the kitchen now! This means I stay and drink longer, because I can also eat! This is good for me AND the bar. LOL.

I’ve only come here on Sundays with my niner friends and what a scene it is. If you are not a niner fan then definitely avoid coming on Sundays. I love this place. The drinks well beer is great. I usually get the Saint Arnold’s Elisa brew and the parmesan fries that were absolutely amazing. The patio is spacious and when the weather is nice it’s fun to chill out there and play the games. A highlight for me was whenever the team would score the staff would come around with jello shots. How fun is that. Parking can be tricky so pay attention to the street signs. Again pay attention to the street signs.

The official spot for Niner Empire fans in Houston to watch the games! If you have a problem with that… oh, well. ;-) The food here is really good, and there are a few things on special on Sundays. I had a chance to try their tacos and they didn’t disappoint. I’m not much of a beer drinker, so I can’t comment on that. Well drinks are $ 4(I believe), and though I could’ve used more vodka in my vodka and cranberry, I couldn’t complain because of the price. The bartenders are nice, energetic and attentive despite it getting massively crowded. One suggested that I try their watermelon shots(1800, watermelon Puckers, sweet and sour and something else I can’t recall), and they were delicious and strong. Also $ 4. My only complaint is that it feels like there is absolutely no air in this place. It was so hot and thick. They either need to install a {better} A/C system or invest in one of those industrial fans from Home Depot because this place seems pretty popular, so it’s going to be crowded with folks all the time. And the only onions I want to smell should be on my food.
