Mary Gibbs and Jesse H Jones Reflection Pool

I really enjoyed walking around this park attraction. There is a nice path that circles the entire reflection pool, and if you keep following trails it will lead you through various areas of the park around lakes and the outdoor pavilion, and eventually the entrance of the zoo.
The water seemed clean and there were many others enjoying the pool. I thought it was a great spot for pictures, as did many others (even professionals).
My only complaint is that there were a few homeless people milling around or sleeping on benches that could’ve been used by visiting patrons. I know this is a tricky thing to mitigate but sometimes bothers me.

I love wandering around Hermann Park when the weather is nice in Houston (aka between October and March). The reflecting pool is quite beautiful — you can relax on the law beside it and read a book on a blanket for a great afternoon! If you’re planning on spending a few hours in the park, don’t miss the reflection pool!

When seeing the Mary Gibbs and Jesse H Jones Reflection Pool for the first time my wife and I both agreed that it looks oddly similar to The Mall in Washington DC.
However instead of crazy people in the water at The Mall, here you will find a fun place for kids to run around in the water as it’s only a few inches deep. Take off your shoes and enjoy.
