The guy that runs this place on the weekends– awesome, efficient, courteous, friendly. Up until today, I would have recommended this place to anyone and everyone. Came here for the first time during the week, and it’s totally different. Waited an hour, and my car still hadn’t been taken back. The guy running the show continued to tell people that they weren’t busy and could handle more work which left more and more people grumbling in the waiting area. At least give me a heads up so I know to leave and come back. One poor guy got a phone call his car was done, showed back up to pick it up, and waited an additional 40 minutes. Only go on the weekend…

If you are looking for a shop that gives poor service, lies to there customers, and has the rudest employees this is the place to go. They assumed I was somebody that I wasnt. I watched them lie to a customer that they need to drive there car on the hwy to get rid of a abs light. Ha ha ha ha. They left a drain plug loose at another midas and they won’t give me a receipt that they fixed another midas work. They sure know how to cover another stores mistakes. Man up is all I can say. Steven you are a rude guy. And clean your restrooms and put some paper towels in there…

Their «corporate office» did nothing to address my problem, anyway I had to go back in because my car was leaking oil turns out the 2 hour oil change was not done right the first time this location is a joke

Very friendly staff! Had oil change done on my Tundra only took 20 minutes! Waiting room has comfy chairs with a million magazine and TV!

Have take my personal and company vehicle here several times but never again. My company vehicle’s A/​C stopped working so I took it in. One of the office personnel quoted the fleet vehicle company with a 100% markup on parts which totaled $ 1,700 for a new A/​C compressor kit. The fleet notified me and I decided to get s second opinion at Goodyear. Goodyear completed the repair and another for less than $ 1,000.
Couple of weeks later I took my personal vehicle in for squeky brakes and had the rear pads and rotors replaced. I selected certain brake pads from their options and come to find out their vendor did not have them in stock. I went to the garage to find out why the repair was taking so long and saw the box that my brake pads came in which was not what I purchased. I brought it up to the mechanic and confirmed. I decided to see if the the person inside would adjust the price at checkout and wouldn’t you know he tried to get away with it. I don’t trust these guys and do not recommend this shop.

Went in for my check engine light. Was told that there was a leak somewhere and another test costing $ 80 was needed. And that it would cost more to fix the leak when they found it. Told them no thanks and took my car to jiffy lube who read the check engine light for free and told me my gas cap was loose. Tightened it up and problem solved.

DO NOT GO HERE! By far the worst experience I have EVER had with a mechanic. Not only did they haggle me and make up problems wrong with my car… They caused more damage to my car!

Went on a Tuesday mid morning for an oil change and waited for the car, it took about 30 minutes, tops, the waiting room has TONS of magazines and a tv so it wasn’t boring at all.
They were not busy and did ask me what kind of oil BEFORE changing it, I don’t know about the other reviews, when you check your car in they ask you what you want. Prices were fair for full synthetic, they gave me a $ 20 off coupon (which is always available) so total was $ 69.
They were informative when it was time to go, let me know exactly what was done to the car and how much it cost and showed me the fluid levels, etc.

Went to get an oil change and battery checked. They did a free check on the battery that showed it had to be replaced; just as I thought.
Good prices and friendly service.

I wish it was possible to give zero stars. Mine is a classic story of penny wise, pound foolish. I went there because I heard a funny sound whenever I pressed my breakers. Went there, they dismantled the car and told me I needed new pads and rotors on my front wheels. About 400 bucks later I went about my way. Two weeks later I started hearing a sound again only this time it was louder. Took my car back there and this time he told me the ball joint and control arm cracked and needs to be replaced. They also lied that they must have mentioned it the last time I was there but I ignored their advise. Flat out lie. Gave me another quite of about $ 800
At this point, I came back to my senses and drove my F-​150 to the dealership. I paid for a full diagnostics and the dealership told me the rotor and pad installation was really bad. The driver side was installed very lose and the other side was too tight which explained the sound. They gave me two options — either take it back to Midas and have them replace and install it correctly or have the dealership do it all over again with new blades and rotors. Well, ofcus I went with having the dealer fix it. It’s been over a month now and my car is good as new. I should have just gone to them in the first place.
So yeah, avoid this place at all cost. They are incompetent. See attachment for the f

Went in for an oil change, was told the estimated wait time and it was done before that. Fair pricing. Also I had been having some issues with my window washer fluid not working properly. A man named Kelly kindly offered to take a look so we put it up in the air and discovered the tube had come off which he fixed gladly. Best customer service I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend this location.

Don’t go to this place. These guys will upcharge you for synthetic without even bothering to get your consent. They will take an hour to do an oil change even when it’s not busy. For $ 90 you will get no confirmation of what they’ve done to your car, or what brand of oil they used. And when it comes down to it, $ 90 won’t get them to put air in your tires (but they’ll say they did on the paperwork that they hand over to you). These guys are sloppy, lazy and couldn’t be a better example of maintenance mechanics to avoid.

Very poor service. Told me that they can do it much cheaper than dealership but wasn’t that much. Told me can get parts within 30 min and then get the job in 1 – 1.5 hrs max… waited almost 3 hours for the parts and another 45 min for job… wasted my whole day… there is a reason and well worth to pay a premium to go to dealership and get it done efficiently!

The worst auto service ever! After moving to this neighborhood, I had my oil change 2 times at this location. The 1^st time was ~10 months ago and went very smoothly. The 2^nd oil change was ~2 months ago. I drove to there and asked for oil change on my Honda Civic. After a routine checkup, the mechanic guy suggested me to renew the fluid brake and I accepted that. The guy who took care of my service was a foreigner who couldn’t speak English at all. I had a question from him, and because he couldn’t communicate in English, asked me to type my words on his cell phone. Anyway, I left the store and I smelled the oil inside of the cabin. However, I though it was normal because the car was sitting inside of the mechanic store for 45 mins and everything was oily there and I should not be too picky. Since then, 1 – 2 friends sat in my car and they also pointed out this weird smell. I planed to open a time in my busy schedule and go back to the store. However, something happened and I had to come back again earlier than my plan. Although I had changed the oil engine & brake fluid recently, after ~1000 miles which was ~ 1 month after my 2^nd visit to the store, the brake fluid alarm went on. I came back to this store and explained them.
Again, the foreigner mechanic took care of my service. When I was sitting inside and waiting for my car, I saw that the service guy pulled out my car outside (in front of the entrance of the store) and used some kind of liquid with pressure inside of the hood. After ~0.5−1 hour waiting there, the car was ready to go. They explained me that the oil had spilled out during the oil change and after a while covered the electric sensors so the sensor warning went on. Therefore, they just cleaned that area. I was very suspicious that the oil change is a very routine task for car services and why it has spilled out?!! Why they couldn’t change the oil smoothly? Anyway, I accepted and left the store.
My car has started making some noise inside of the hood since then. I am a lady and I don’t know very much about these little warnings. The noise came on and off… I kind of forget about that, until my fiancée and I were on road outside of the city at the weekend. The noise started very badly. Fortunately, my fiancé was with me. He knows a little about cars and mechanic. He opened the hood and noticed that the drive belt has wore off! The noise came from the part of belt that was wore off inside of the hood. Anyway, early this morning we found a car service nearby based on reviews on Unilocal.We called them and got an appointment. We drove there, and a gentleman mechanic guy checked it for us and he said that the belt needs to be replaced. It was very weird for him why the belt has wore off after just 38K miles on the care. He said that the belt needs to be fixed to find out if there is any problem with my car that caused this. He replaced the drive belt. Then, he told us that inside of the hood was very dirty with oil. Based on these facts, he suspected that some kind of chemicals were used inside of the hood to clean up the oil and that chemical was not safe for the interior part of car and has reacted with the belt. He also pointed out to the rubber of the hood. The rubber on the left side of the hood which is close to the oil cap was worn off too! Honestly, I am very angry at this Midas store! I don’t know if their mess may cause more problems on my car or not! I just wanted to warn customers stay away from this service store. Also, I highly suggest the Midas manager to pay more attention in hiring their mechanics. I don’t know if I can complain about it to Midas manager or not! I just believe such simple task, i.e. engine oil change, should be addressed very smoothly. This simple task should not cause more problems on car performance.

I brought my 2002 Subaru Outback to this Midas location when I noticed the car seemed to be getting louder. My usual shop is too much of a hassle to get to on a weekday and this location is close to home.
Anyway, it turns out my exhaust was rusted through and about to come off. I was quoted on replacing everything behind the catalytic converter. Wanting a second opinion, I took my car to my usual shop over the weekend where they told me if I was getting that kind of price on a replacement (not just a repair) that I needed to jump on it. I am very happy I did. The exhaust had to be special ordered but once it came in, everything was installed in just a couple hours and I am happy as a clam. The staff at Midas was completely professional throughout the process. They even showed me the places where my exhaust had rusted out (from living in the Midwest with all those salty roads for years). I have since taken my car back for other basic maintenance items and am consistently happy with the work, the price, and the professionalism.

In two words: Just no.
Or how about these two: How unfortunate.
My back left tire shredded on the freeway and I drove it with the spare to this spot simply due to proximity to work, and ended up getting both rear tires changed for the sake of balance. I asked about a warranty (the roads here in Houston are extremely rough and full of potholes with construction happening everywhere) and they said it covers wear and tear but nothing else (ie if you he a nail in your tire it’s not their problem). I had to ask several questions to get them to even admit there was a full warranty available and went ahead and got it for $ 300 total. They had asked me how many miles the car had and I said a little more than 120K. They wrote down 120K and promised they’d go back and adjust it on the invoice since I knew it was actually quite a bit more than that and the warranty is based on mileage. When I picked up the car I was rushing back to work so I didn’t take the time to look at the actual invoice.
Cut to the next day, my boyfriend and I are leaving the grocery store only to discover that the rear right tire is completely flat. Once we got back to Midas we weren’t even greeted with a hello, and were treated very rudely. When I pulled out the invoice I realized that it was under someone else’s name, with a different address, different telephone number and they never updated the mileage like they said they would (129K). So basically if I had lost the invoice they wouldn’t have even helped me. They went ahead and changed the tire, but when I asked to update the information so it could actually be under my name, they said they couldn’t and I’d have to call when the GM was there. The guy seemed totally unconcerned and almost inconvenienced that he had to deal with me.
Total waste of time and money with no apologies. I will be going back to use the warranty if needed, but never again will I spend money there.

I purchased a muffler for a used pickup I bought about a year ago. The muffler failed and I brought it back for replacement. I came in twice on one day, first time to have them look and second time to install. However, they received the «wrong» replacement. I then arranged to come in the next day (today) and to be here at opening so they could replace the fist thing in the morning. I had explained to the manager of the store that I was having to leave on a trip the next day so verified that if I got in early they could turn the vehicle quickly.
I got to Midas shortly before opening and provided my key. I has TRUSTED that they would promptly start work as promised and expected my car to be done in about an hour. They put my vehicle on the lift and I sat in the waiting room.
After about an hour I went outside to look into the bay to see if the work was finished. What I saw was that nobody was doing anything. Instead the old muffler was still attached and the new one by my vehicle. The technicians were all working on other vehicles.
I expressed my surprise with the manager. The lead mechanic said it would take ANOTHER hour to finish and I could either just wait or come back another day.
Midas asks their customers to TRUST them. But given this experience perhaps what they are really saying is to trust that they will not be honest about their commitments.
FOLLOW UP: after expressing my frustration, the lead mechanic did start to replace the muffler and I was able to get out about 30 minutes later. So I do give them credit for doing this but only wonder how long I would have really been there if I had just trusted them and not verified.

I stopped here several weeks in advance to get a quote on several major areas on my car that needed to be replaced.
I was totally impressed with the professional way I received a written quote and the Midas Rep took the time to explain and answer my many questions
Yesterday I called to see if they could take care of my car per their previous written quote! After hearing yes, I dropped my car off for the day!
I was extremely pleased with the service & the outcome of my car repair!
I highly recommend Midas! I feel they are trustworthy and do a great job!

I took my car in after having been rejected by two other tire stores at service capacity on a cold rainy day. They took a look at the ominous screw in my tire (thanks, San Felipe for that gift nugget!) and assured me they could patch it fast. Shouting something to his technicians that sounded vaguely pirate-​like, he cashed me out for a cool $ 15 with an only slightly condescending «Sweetheart» epithet.
But, it’s fixed, they don’t mess around with triaging and up-​selling and staying in customer order. You get the old fashioned service you need, when you need it if there is a spare hand, and that’s it. Well, and a Houston 002 magazine from 2010 too for the wait, you’re welcome.

I went into this Midas looking to have my muffler replaced on my 1997 Saturn with 45,000 miles on it. Not a big deal… I thought. They put my car up and told me I needed the entire exhaust system replaced and told me it would cost $ 970! Luckily, I had a bad feeling and got my car out of there, only AFTER they tried to charge me for the estimate. They were obviously just hoping I was stupid, because when I protested they let me walk without a further argument. Oh, but as I was about to drive away they stopped me and told me not to drive around with it because exhaust was going to get up into the cab and make me sick. Which was a lie even based on what they were telling me was wrong.
I called a friend of the family who sold me the car and owns a few car dealerships in Chicago. He told me he doubted the whole thing needed replacing, but that if it did it would cost $ 500 (yes, including labor). I went over to a place (
) in little Mexico and they looked at it and told me I only needed a few parts replaced and that it would cost…$ 175. You know, only EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS less than Midas.
Never again Midas, never again. They are dishonest and try to rip you off. Go to Mayco on bellaire, or go to little Mexico. Pay cash and get a deal and great work.
