The term«fine dining» gets used frequently but rarely does an establishment actually live up to the definition. However, Mo’s…A Place For Steaks definitely lives up to the implied standard. From the ambiance to the welcoming staff, you will feel bliss the moment you walk through the door. I’m not much of a mixed drink consumer, because they are often made too sweet, but the bartenders certainly know how to craft cocktails. Also, it was my mother’s birthday. The staff went above and beyond by printing custom menus for our table wishing my mother a happy birthday. It certainly warmed her heart and made her feel like the star she is. Oh yes, the food. Me and my party tried several interesting selections from their impressive menu and we were pleasantly surprised by the unique ingredient combinations gracing our pallets. You honestly can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. No complaints whatsoever and we all intend to visit this fine dining establishment again in the near future. Cheers!

My girl and I were looking to eat steak somewhere close to us, so I Unilocaled locations, and landed on this place. I suggested this place to my girl. At first she said no because of the name, and because it had only 3 ½ stars. But we eventually agreed to eat here. We ordered the Tuna Poke, and Lobster Bisque and they were phenomenal. We also ordered the Classic Wedge. With the Wedge salad I’m always hesitant because sometimes the Blu cheese is over bearing, and that’s all you taste. But this had a good combination of the cheese and bacon bits. If you ever do get the Wedge salad share it another, that thing was huge. We told our waiter to split it when we ordered it, and he came with 2 plates full of salad; so I can only imagine how big a whole is. The last thing we ordered was the Prime Filet 12oz split(so 6oz each) with Cajun seasoning, and garlic seasoning on the side. With a lobster topping, I forgot what it was called, but basically it was lobster bits on top. The steak with the Cajun seasoning was perfect. Didn’t need any sauces or dips to go along. The wait staff for friendly, you would expect that from a place like this. However there was a large party that became noisy at one point when we had gone, but that’s not the restaurants fault. After enjoying everything, I mocked my girlfriend saying, not bad for a place with 3 ½ stars huh.

Wow! What a great place! Visited last night and had a really wonderful experience. Fantastic food and supreme service! My new favorite steak place in Houston… and that’s saying something because Pappas Brothers was my «go to» steak restaurant.

This review is based on 1 networking event I attended there and 1 sit-down birthday dinner. Ambiance– There is an outdoor(cigar) patio with two large tv’s that were set to the basketball game, this seemed like a really relaxing area to have happy hour in good weather! When you walk inside the décor is formal and the lights are dim to create an intimate feeling. To the left is a formal dining area, straight ahead is the bar and to the right is a more lounge like atmosphere. We had a reservation for a birthday and proceeded to the formal dining area. There is a serious divide based on the uniforms of the employees, dining area has button down, black/white attire and the ladies in the lounge area had very short shorts on with a tank. Also black… but still a little odd for a steakhouse. Food:I’m so torn! Some items were great… some left me confused and wanting more. Bread/butter– The rosemary bread they serve upon seating was mouth wateringly delicious. They had 2 other kinds as well but nothing memorable. Spinach dip-super creamy and delicious! Crostini was okay, would’ve preferred something along the lines of a chip(pita!) to go with it. Calamari– Perfect texture, not too chewy, and loved the 2 dipping sauces(1 traditional Pomodoro/marinara, 1 lemon aioli) that accompanied. It was fried but not dripping with oil, great! Cowboy Cut Steak–(medium rare) It was… okay. It was served extremely charred on the outside so the char taste took away from the quality and taste of the meat. It was a little bit closer to medium well also. Blackened Salmon– salmon with a spicy Creole sauce on a bed of risotto. The salmon itself was really dry and not exciting. The risotto was amazing!!! The 2 items did not pair well together for me at all. I ate the salmon there and took the risotto home, which still tasted great the next day. Mo’s Cookie– SOGOOD. It’s served not fully baked so it’s gooey and warm and huge! Birthday Brownie– I always appreciate when a restaurant acknowledges special occasions. But if you are going to offer a «dessert» that is very simple and not even offered on the regular menu… it’s a little disappointing. The brownie was small/thin and so plain… I was initially planning on ordering the CinnaMo Roll but felt bad ordering something additional after the brownie was brought out. Service:Impeccable! Everyone was so gracious and attentive. I loved the touch of a small purse/jacket holder by the tables. How convenient! The meat cut display that the servers can bring to the table is great too. Our server had his spiel for each type down perfectly and was really a joy the whole evening. I would love to come back because they clearly know how to treat their guests coming in, but the food is hit or miss and it’s not a cheap mistake if you don’t like your food.

I really wanted to like this place I really do. It had a lot of great things going on for it. Great pianist, attentive hostess, good service for a party 17 ppl. I enjoy the lobster bisque and Mac and cheese, they were good, not great. However as soon as I got my bone in dry age steak, it went down hill. * I order medium rare, it came out to be medium well almost well done. *the taste is an overpowered charred smoked flavor. It is like I am eating burnt bits *I know my steak very well, and I don’t see how this is considered dry aged. Unless they count leaving it out an hour dry. No nuttiness or more flavor. *yes they were nice enough to bring me something medium rare but this time they seared it. Concept was good but It had A LOTOFGRISTLE. For those who don’t know what that is, it’s the connective tissue mainly around the shoulder and legs. Nothing turns me off about steak than gristle. Seriously fire the chefs and head chef. I blow money on food like a crackhead with cocaine. But I want good food for a place in this price range. 143.94 cent for bone in rib, filet, Mac n cheese and get this a full charge if you get caeser salad not house salad. A 9 dollar charge for something a small as a Wendy’s side salad. Like can’t you charge the difference not the whole thing. In my opinion, people who come here are here for drinks and smoke cigar. God that cigar and cigarette smells is already off putting as soon as your step outside your car. SINCE I was at a big party they sat us by the patio entrance. Big mistake. Everyone time the waitress goes in and out, I get a big whiff of cigars. The only reason I gave this two stars is for service and the pianist other than that this place is a glorified Dennys or IHOP. This place is for old white people/cougars. Another small issue for me is the girls uniform. It pretty much club bartender scantily outfit. Meaning this place is cater to men.

Went here for an event last week — the service was amazing(you were never left empty handed/without a drink for longer than 1.2.3.). The food they provided(buffet style finger food) was incredible — meaty sliders, tasty short rib, fresh sushi, chicken, etc. all of it was very tasty. Would love to come back again for a dining experience! Overall very impressed.

Gosh, I really wished I liked this place, because my boyfriend kept talking about it and wanted to bring me here. For a place that has fine dining prices for food… you sure don’t feel like it’s fine dining. Let me point out a few things that are wrong here: 1) The outfits. Really? The girls are all wearing skirts and low cut shirts meanwhile the bussers look like they’re the one who should be serving. The bussers have the uniform that compares to that of Vic& Anthony’s or Pappabro’s if even. The girls? NOOO. Also, you guys should tie your hair up. …but all were pretty. 2) The menu… judging already from the font of the business. You can already tell it’s like«just a place to hangout…» 3) The system was down the entire time we were there. which is okay because our server brought everything/coursed everything out at a manner of time… This is what we got: Ahi tuna poke — too little of tuna for on the tortilla strip. the seasoning wasn’t bad though. 3 stars at most. The tomato soup… La Madeline over it. . Oh, and it wasn’t even hot… We got the bone in NY strip and the filet… BOTH medium rare. HIS came out medium well to well done.inedible.who wants to eat steak that’s medium well or well done… might as well toss it… but he’s too nice to send things back. Mine was raw. NOT even rare. i’m talking about RAW. It was like, they seared it for 20 seconds on each side. It wasn’t even seasoned. It tasted charred and raw. I sent it back for medium rare(asking nicely, of course.) It came back to be rare in the center. like a LITTLEPARTOFITWASRARE. and the rest was well done. LIKEAREYOUJOKINGME. I’ve never seen my bf pissed. they wanted to give a complimentary dessert just bc it was Valentine’s day. he passed. He even wrote a note on the ticket. I’ve never seen him so… pissed enough to do that that he just wanted to get the hell out of the restaurant. It wasn’t the server’s fault. The service was like 3 stars. It was okay, wasn’t great or anything… I feel like this place is meant to be a place for cocktails. looks like a high end hooters for the girls. THAT’S confusing as hell… On that note. bill came out to be $ 179… $ 179 that we can never get back. I’m sure the bf still tipped her 40 bucks. We weren’t amateur diners. We go to steakhouses and eat out a lot. so this. THISWAS A HUGEDISAPPOINTMENT. Oh well, nothing alcohol can’t fix… PS. The blind piano player was amazing though. very inspiring. It moved me. Listening to her sing and play was the highlight of our meal.

Absolutely delicious cocktails, appetizers, and steaks! FOOD(5*s): The ahi tuna appetizer and beef tenderloins were very good. The Kobe steaks(although pricey at ~$ 60/steak) are so tender and juicy. I got the 8oz and it was cooked perfectly. The sides we got were fries(hot and fresh and served in a metal basket), creamed corn(so good), asparagus(pretty typical), and broccoli(steamed and plain). DRINKS(5*s): blue cheese stuffed olives(hand-made in house and absolutely amazing) with grey goose on the rocks. I also got a John Daly(Firefly sweet tea vodka with lemonade) not too sweet and mixed perfectly. SERVICE(5*s): would give 6 stars if I could for the service alone. When we arrived at our table a purse holder was set beside me. The napkins are replaced every time you leave the table with a fresh one. Every server works together to keep the entire restaurant happy. I would take a sip of my water and they would refill it almost immediately. ATMOSPHERE(5*s): quiet, romantic, and perfect for a business meeting or nice dinner with your date. The lighting is just right. Tables are not too close together. PARKING(3*s): you MUST valet here, they block off all the parking spots with cones. It is complimentary valet but obviously tipping is recommended.

Was there last weekend. The place was empty so we thought that the service would be more attentive. Our waiter disappeared for at least 15 minutes at a time. He over charged us for a bottle of wine we did not drink. The icing on the cake were two of the steaks ordered that were rotten — sour, smelly. We had them returned with new steaks brought out that were still rotten and undercooked. For all of this trouble they gave us a free dessert. Please be careful with what you order and pay close attention to the bill. Its a shame because the place use to be so nice.

My wife and I took my daughter here to celebrate her 28th birthday. I can’t say enough about the food and the service, it was exceptional! We were there to celebrate as well as listen to the great music provided by the Guzzler’s. During the festivities, my daughter tipped over her wine glass and spilled it all over her dress. It happens. The owner, Mr. Vassallo, attended to her personally and was very helpful. I thought it was very, very, nice of him to be so kind. Thank you sir! As an appetizer, we ordered the Fried Calamari with lemon emulsion and pomodoro sauce. The texture of the calamari was perfect, the batter very light, and I love both sauces. For our entrees, I enjoyed a medium, 8 oz., Angus beef sirloin that was perfect. My wife had, the Kristine, a sushi dish of Tempura crusted spicy tuna roll with cream cheese, jalapeños and avocado. My daughter enjoyed the Maple planked salmon filet and her friend had the Grilled breast of chicken infused with rosemary and garlic. Everyone had a marvelous dinner and except for the wine mishap,(certainly no fault of the restaurant) a great time was enjoyed by all. Thanks to Mr. Vassallo and the great Mo’s staff her birthday dinner was finished with a candle lit dessert of which we all enjoyed a taste. A bottle of Zinfandel, a nice appetizer, four entrees, and a nice dessert came to $ 196.00. I was pleased with my choice of Mo’s for our celebration and look forward to a return visit. In the mean time, I will be sure to visit Mo’s Irish Pub, which is closer to my home. I understand the same quality of food and service are here as well. Thanks again!

The service was fantastic, the food was excellent, everything was very good. We had the Kung Pao Calamari which was awesome, then the beet salad which was also fantastic, then the blue cheese encrusted short rib with asparagus horseradish risotto which was to-die-for. We had night caps at the bar and the live music was good too. All in all, a night to remember.

I visited the place on a Friday night after my friend visited the bridal shop in the same center. Hostesses were not too friendly. Our wait staff was not very attentive. Took over 15 minute for us to get drinks and bread. Bread was good though. We also started with a dip, which was fairly delicious. However, for the price we paid, quality of our entrée was just ok. Most likely will not return.

I may be biased, because I am now an employee. However, my employers did not request for me to write this review, so it is my honest opinion. Take it for what it is… a review :) FOOD. I have tried several items on the menu. The following are what I personally recommend: + For starter/app, I prefer the sushi — Godzilla is my fave + The Kobe is a perfect right size(4oz, also available in 8 and 12oz), and is extremely tender + You can’t go wrong with the onion rings, shoestring potatoes, or adult mac and cheese. I’ve heard some people add lobster instead of bacon in the mac + When desserting, opt for the cookie(half-baked and made fresh) or the cinnamon roll(comes with ice cream too and is made fresh as well) MUSIC. Tuesday nights we host The Guzzlers. It does get loud; it’s a live band. Dance floor is available to swing around the floor a couple times. However, every other night(except Mondays) we have a live pianist playing in the lounge. She plays a variety of songs. ATTIRE. Business formal. Typically many come over straight from work to hang out at the bar or sit on the patio to enjoy a cocktail and a cigar VALET. $ 5 cash or $ 6CC

We didn’t want to go to our favorite places tonight so we found somewhere we had never been before. Mo’s. What a great place!!! Drinks were awesome, bone in ribeye was on point, and the dessert cinnamon roll melted in our mouths. Live piano too! Definitely a go-to place for us. GREATEXPERIENCE!!!

Mmmmmmo’s. Yum! Not like THE best steak in Houston, but they do a good job. Any time I’ve been I eat and lounge on the patio. It’s a nicely tucked away in the Galleria and you can just get lost in conversation with your friends here. Like I said, the food is pretty good but I don’t have favorite dishes or anything like that here. My favorite thing about this place is that I can puff on a nice cigar and drink an old scotch. Can’t beat that.

Very tasty! Outstanding service. Went for restaurant week. The steaks were good, snapper was very good, appetizers were fabulous! It’s pretty formal but not too stuffy– we had a good time & didn’t feel that we had to whisper. Only reason it’s not a 5 star review is because there’s not much parking so you’ll probably have to valet & the drinks(we had 2 different kinds of Mojitos & an old fashioned) were really not impressive. They were prices like handcrafted drinks at boheme, captain foxhearts, or anvil but weren’t of the same quality. Otherwise! Great!

I can’t help but be a good fan of Mo’s since not only do the serve up a darn good big as Texas(12 oz. filets) steak with choices of dry aged bone in New York(sorry Texas) strip, but also choices in Wagyu meats. More than that, a darn good seafood as well as sushi selection, being one of the few steakhouses in which I can start off my meal with a ceviche. It’s also rather nice in that they will arrange to host large party events. During my most recent visit I attended a cocktail party of approximately 80 people and surprisingly for group that size, the service was speedy, exemplary in quality as well as impeccably polite. Also, since on weekdays they remain open until 11:00 o’clock PM and on Saturdays until midnight one is never rushed. Also, on Saturdays you can linger on after a late meal or party event as the lounge remains open until 1:00AM.

Famous for steaks and I did not have a steak(seriously)! So, maybe that is why my rating is so-so. :/ I came in last night to meet a friend for dinner. When driving up I noticed there is really only valet parking as an option but I was able to find a spot not blocked off by a cone fairly close to the entrance. Score! My friend was seated at a cocktail table and there was a live band very close so we could not talk or hear each other. We asked to sit out on the patio and our server was more than happy to move us and serve us there as well. Looking over the menu there is a variety of dishes from seafood, steaks, sushi, and pasta. I was not very hungry so I ordered two appetizer dishes the Lobster Ceviche and the Tuna Tartar which was recommended by our server. My friend ordered the Kobe Beef 4 oz. Filet and Mac and Cheese. We both decided to have wine and ordered cab by the glass. The Lobster Ceviche was bland and did not offer much flavor. The Tuna Tartar on the other hand was flavorful. I could taste the sesame oil over any other flavors here. I sampled the Kobe Beef Filet and it was very tender and packed full of flavor. The Mac and Cheese was defiantly a hit as well. We ended with the Godiva Chocolate cake which was okay. The ambiance of the restaurant is decent. It looks like an upscale steak house. The patio was a great option for us with the perfect weather. Our service was great! I hear this is the place to be on a Tuesday night if in the O&G industry. But, I can’t help but think this is more of an older crowd hang out for 50 something’s ++. I wouldn’t mind coming back for a nice steak. I defiantly wouldn’t come here to snack on appetizers again. It’s a place for steaks and I think I got the memo now! :)
