Truly dependably great restaurant. Great service, great food, nice setting, wonderful evening. This restaurant deserves more recognition than it receives. Never disappoints.

5 stars for the staff! We held a meeting of about 60 people & I couldn’t have asked for better help, especially from their server Shawn. He helped move things around, got everything technical in order, & was super fast & friendly. I could tell all the wait staff waited & watched for our break times & change in speakers to come out & bring food, drinks, etc. They looked at our agenda & worked around us. They even accommodated to let us start our meeting at 9:30 am well before they opened. That is customer service! I would give 4 stars for the venue in the area we held our meeting because it was near the bar & kitchen area. You just can’t help the noise from machines & dishes, so not much they could do. Other customers had to walk through the back & a few were loud & distracting. The venue was remodeled recently, so I would have closed off the whole room. Other than that they have several other really nice meeting rooms. Also, they do need more bathrooms to accommodate large meeting groups. However, I will definitely come back & plan more meetings there. The owner/chef is very hospitable & the food was amazing! Definitely worth the cost.

5 Stars for the place 2 Stars for the staff, 5 stars for our new waiter Armando when the other was just terrible we had to replace him. The Post Oak burger was DELISH, with fresh cut jalapeños and ranch on the side, but our waiter was on it, Armando… he certainly wowed us, and was a perfect help to enjoy our lunch. Enjoy !

The service was so bad, all the manager could do is keep apologizing. Table had a hard time just getting water. I asked for water and he only brought water for me. Could never get a refill on my coke. Food came out a different times for the table. We had to find the waiter to get the food that was not served immediately… they apparently forgot the orders that were not delivered initially They booked a wedding reception and could not handle the restaurant and the reception. Half the food was served cold, but since not waiter was available, we were forced to eat as is. All of this is the fault of management. They are the ones that overbooked. They were more concerned about getting the last dollar than their cliental.

Visited over the weekend for restaurant week. Double date and it was not the restaurant to be at. This place cannot accommodate HRW and a wedding reception on the same night. Waited forever just to get menus, to have our order taken, to have food delivered, they skipped an entire course, main entrée was cold and steak was like from a frozen Night Hawk dinner! Manager was apologetic but needless to say we left to go eat dinner somewhere else at 10’clock at night! Not all restaurants should participate in HRW if they truly know they can’t handle it…

We were hesitant to come here after reading a bunch of bad reviews, but I’m glad we came anyway, we had a lovely time. Parking in the garage in back was easy, with well-lit entrances to the venue from the garage. The décor is a mix of heavy dark wood and light airy space… the description sounds odd, but it works, and comes off as classy, but not oppressive… a good place for conversation rather than hushed whispers. There was a mix of couples and small groups of friends/family, and even a wedding reception in the back. The style of food and service is very American. There were a series of attentive waitstaff, filling water, delivering courses from the kitchen, clearing dishes the second you take the last bite, fulfilling requests quickly, etc. The food came out very fast(we thought the first course must be for another table, because it came out about a minute after we ordered… we did HRW menu, so I’m sure they had some of the cold dishes pre-prepared) All of the food was nice, fresh, and flavorful, without being challenging. The lobster bisque had very strong black-pepper flavors, which wasn’t to my wife’s taste. I picked the wrong wine to go with our meal, remembering it as more food friendly, but it was too sweet… a few words of description for each wine on the wine list would have helped me not make the mistake. I don’t know if it will wind up on our regular rotation, but I can’t say anything bad about our experience. If you’re looking for nice, contemporary/traditional Americana, this is a good pick.

Went for dinner during Houston Restaurant week. The portions were a little small, but the food was pretty good. The salmon was my favorite dish.

Wasn’t impressed. Took clients there for lunch and had a 15 min wait. I had the salmon salad, the lettuce didn’t seem fresh and the salmon was average. The bread was good. Disappointment.

This place is terrible! The manager is awful. We ordered a bottle of wine off of the menu and they did not have it. They brought something else we did not like and the manager refused to take it back. We will never come back here again.

Came for lunch during HRW. Soup of the day was red pepper with crab meat(and shell). I was especially disappointed with the bread and butter. The should have been crispy baguette had been run through the micro to warm it up, leaving it gummy wither a chewy crust. The herb butter(basil, garlic, onion, and lemon juice) had a green tint, but that was all. After eating the lovely crispy baguettes last week at Kris Bistro, these don’t even deserve a rating. The entrée was lobster tower? Salad. I didn’t see a tower, only half a roasted lobster tail perched atop wilted greens with slivers of mango, strawberry, and candied pecans. The pecans were the best part. Lobster was overlooked, dry and flavorless. The berry chocolate cake was just okay. The coffee flavor of the butter crème icing was stronger than the chocolate. The cake was soaked in berry juice which just made it soggy.

Service at Post Oak Grill is always excellent. The entire staff is very attentive and aim to please. I love to come here during lunch, so decided to check out dinner during HRW, which offers a 4-course meal for $ 35 — a great deal. They didn’t have the initial wine that I choose(wanted a spanish rioja), but were able to recommend a good argentine malbec. I was happy with the wine, but please consider updating your wine list more often. Started with the tuna tower which I thought was very good. The tuna may have been a little over-seared but flavors were great. Next course was lobster and crab bisque which had great lobster flavor but don’t expect large chunks of actual crab/lobster meat. Main entrees included land and sea, which was good. The chocolate mousse dessert was nice, but I wish I would have been able to try the bananas foster too. Overall I thought the food was good and I will continue to frequent Post Oak Grill for lunch.

Wasn’t hungry but didn’t want to not eat since all my friends were eating. Ordered a side Caesar salad for $ 7.95 and waiter said, «would you like to add some chicken». I thought sure, why not. Well the bill came and I got charged $ 18.95 for my stupid salad. That’s crap. For damn near $ 20, that was the crappiest salad I’ve ever had. Not worth it in my opinion. Flavor was good, croutons were stale, overall it was mediocre. Perhaps it was mediocre for the price. Regardless, I won’t find myself eating here again.

For the service alone I think this place gets 5 stars. I had the shrimp pasta and still craving it today. I highly recommend the crab cakes and the cookies are a great treat. Can’t wait to visit again since I can get the pasta out of my head. Yum!

The restaurant was overrun with flies. Cold food, drinks had to be sent back for being far too sweet, etc. Absolutely disgusting what they charged for such terrible food and mediocre service. I’d only recommend it for the story you’ll have about eating at such a terrible restaurant.

This is a delayed review but I definitely wanted to share my experience. I attended the Thanksgiving brunch and was extremely underwhelmed by the entire experience. I have heard about this place and always pass the billboard off 610 and westheimer marketing it as «fine dining.» I figured it would be a great candidate for a holiday brunch. I made reservations and waited about 20 minutes to be seated. My party of 3 was crammed in some wine room with barely enough shoulder space. Then there’s the décor… Very outdated. The ambiance here is not reminiscent of «luxury dining.» It just gets worse. Apparently they were remodeling the kitchen, so I watched as waiters scurried in and out of a portable placed directly infront of the entrance. It was clearly very inconvenient for servers to use the main entrance to tote massive containers of food to the buffet on the other side of the restaurant. I saw mounds of dirty dishes in containers outside the portables, too– huge eye sore and disgusting. Again, this is definitely not luxury dining and the price should reflect that. Now to the food… Very subpar. The buffet was not versatile in any form. For it to be considered«brunch» there wasn’t even an omelette stand– a staple of any luxury buffet brunch. I will say the lamb was very good, but the tasty dish was outshined by my lackluster experience to bring me back. At $ 50 per person, this brunch was OVERPRICED. The buffet line was literally one table, and I didn’t even bother with the desserts. This business should have lowered their prices after considering customers would be dealing with a half functioning kitchen. They were clearly very eager to make some $$$ during the holiday regardless of their limited kitchen capability.

What an incredibly disappointing experience. Post Oak Grill advertised a New Years party with«LIVE» music & free champaign. What we got for $ 220.00 is pure garbage. The service is horrible & painful. While my appetizer was yummy, the shrimp on it tasted weird, old, force feed, and yucky. Tasted like the refrigerator. That’s just one thing. Again, the service is so poor & rushed. It was so awful & depressing. I welcomed the new year in my living room with my husband bcs we had to leave. There was no live music as advertised. A DJ does NOT count as ”live music.” How dreadful that there was only one 80 year old couple dancing when the main reason I went there was to dance with my new young husband. The lady that served me was rushed & she answered none of my questions about the menu items. The hosts were not welcoming, warm, nor inviting. This experience was dreadful. Instead of a law suit, I’ll just tell my story & recommend no one goes to the Post Oak Grill of Horror. Waiters were jogging in the isles; yes, in the tiny isle we were isolated in. The service was slow. The décor is ugly & the valet brought me a van that was absolutely not mine. My husband eats his meat well done &, yes, he got raw meat. The meat & lobster felt funny in my belly. And their decorations are old. I’m not coming here again & neither should anyone else. Enter at ur own risk bcs their negatives out weight the positive s. Just saying.

I came here a few weeks ago to celebrate an anniversary. We came in on a Friday night and our reservations were for 8:30 pm. I completely understand that this is supposed to be a staple Houston place, but there are soooo many better places you could go. The food and the service was mediocre at best. The best part in my opinion was the free biscuits. To top it off, the group I went with was aged between 22 – 25 and we were by far the youngest group in there. Being a minority in there due to age and race, we spent the entire evening getting a lot of funny stares. I always say, you can’t knock it till you’ve tried it but this not a place I would waste my time trying if I were you.

Dined here last night(a Wednesday) for Restaurant Weeks. To my knowledge the only option was valet only. Its only 3 dollars, but i dont like strangers in my car bc, i «smoke» before i eat. We had reservations, & we got our table immediately. 1st course: I had the tuna dome. Its more like a mini ant pile. BUT its restaurant weeks so I expected small portions. It was very very delicious. My gfs had the spring roll and they loved it. 2nd course: Crab bisque was less than. And the croutons on top tricked me! I thought it was lump crab meat. Ohh well. 3rd: Stuffed flounder it was pretty delicious. one of my gfs had the salmon & said it «melted in her mouth like butter» of course she said this after she was done. Probably so I wouldn’t put my fork in her plate. My other two gfs had the surf n turf and they enjoyed it! Dessert was ummm blah. I had the peach crostini and it wasnt that great. The chocolate cake was good, and the banana fosters should be called«seasoned bananas in a bowl». The service was good. The food flowed well. There are many older people but hey, it didn’t smell like Geritol in there.

Came for HRW last week because their HRW options looked pretty good. Overall, it was just a little bit above average for me. My choices were as follows: Course 1 — Tuna Dome — This was a great way to start of the meal for me. Fish was fresh with good Citrus notes. Portion size was small as expected. Course 2 — Lobster and Crab Bisque — I was disappointed in this dish. There just wasn’t much lobster or crab pieces in my bowl. Maybe 2 pieces total. The worst thing was that I had some tiny pieces of the shell in my soup. A restaurant of this caliber, i just don’t understand how they can make mistakes like this. Course 3 — Crabmeat Crusted Flounder Filet — Fish was under seasoned just a little bit but overall i still enjoyed this dish and the accompanying risotto. Course 4 — Banana Foster — I didn’t enjoy this at all. i’ve had much better Banana Foster at other places(Eddie V’s in particular). Wish they had flam’be this table side.
