Within 4 minutes of my arrival, the manager came to the table & introduced himself. Great start for this place. Earned an extra star. Fried alligator is fried well & seasoned well. Sauce is tasty. All foods came quickly. Servers were attentive. Waffles were soft & tasty. Eggs prepared softly with intentions of you seasoning it to your taste. Chicken was well seasoned. Overall, a good dining experience. Not ashamed to have this establishment have my home town’s name. I noticed that the website is down, and they have items on their menu that is no longer available. Minor hiccups in the grand scheme of things. One thing that has to be mentioned, New Orleans is known for big portions at low prices, and this place really does not have that aspect of New Orleans.

I never notice this place until one day I was trying to watch the game and have some chicken wing @ buffalo wild wings. So I walk over and inside this place is decorated all New Orlean style. I’m a Texan fan so I would never come watch the game here for sure. I order the wings and waffles of course and it really didn’t come out special. Not much flavor to the wings all. Just fried :-/The waffles are to thick and to much flour. As appetizer I order alligator so my kids can try it. Of course I trick them and told them it was chicken. They didn’t like cause it came out chewy. Over all it something you can try but for me I probably stick with breakfast klub. Oh yea the waiter was pretty cool…

We went to this place about a month ago and ordered a Shrimp Po-boy, Fried Alligator, Crawfish bisque and Chicken and waffles. The fried alligator and Poboy were so salty, I had to send them back. I’m not the type to do that so it must have been really bad. The waitress acknowledged the batter was too salty and offered another dish to me, so i ordered the bisque. That was also extremely salty and inedible. My son said the fried chicken wings and waffles were good but not worth the price. We left feeling very unhappy and nauseated.

First visit not very impressive. Kind of disappointed. Hostess very nice though. Took 10 minutes before we got drink orders. Food was so, so. Calamari portion was small for the price. Sauce was excellent. Seafood court bouillon was so spicy that it was difficult to enjoy. Refills on drinks came infrequently. Server was very kind. Might be a while until we return.

Really wanted to like it but was subpar. If you are gonna be called chicken and waffles then I’d think you’d have it featured in variety on your menu… nope. tons of food choices but just the one waffles with 3wings chicken choice. seriously!!! Well the wings were ok but overcooked, the waffles were pretty nice but too much cinnamon and not crisp. Shrimp étouffée was loved by my husband but for those items and 2 sweet teas to be $ 35 was not to my liking. will go back again and try different items to give it a fair shake but if we get the same quality and same slow service we won’t come back. its tough to open a business but even tougher to get people to be repeat customers so hope they read these comments and do what needs to be done to succeed.

Being from Louisiana, I really wanted to like this place. The restaurant itself looks quite nice. The food, however, is another story. I went here a few months ago for dinner, so I don’t remember the name of my entrée. I do remember that they were«out» of my first two choices. That was the first bad sign. The food was not prepared or seasoned well. My fish was topped with a bland étouffée sauce which did not taste authentic in the least. The shrimp were overcooked. The side of jambalaya tasted weird. Unfortunately, I won’t be back. My search for good, authentic Louisiana restaurant food in NW Houston continues…

So had a bad experience Sunday spoke to the owner he wants to make it right. The first time we went there when it first opened we were impressed with the food. Since the owner wants to make it right we may give it another chance.

There is so much potential here. Unfortunately, I spent almost two hours of my life here that I will not get back, waiting. We were seated almost immediately. Then we waited, and waited, and waited for someone to take our order. The restaurant was busy with one waiter hustling all over the place and two young girls standing around. Once one of the girls came around to take our drink orders, she had to excuse herself to «go get the iPad.» Yes, an iPad was needed in order to process our drink order. Then we waited, and waited, and waited for our orders to be taken. The menu is expansive and very hard to read. Lots of choices. I had the shrimp po boy which I thought was really good. I tried to chalk the issues up as new business stuff, and that maybe they were just having a bad night. Maybe they needed another chance. Then we waited, and waited, and waited for our a refill and eventually a check. By the time our server asked us if we wanted desserts, we were ready to get out. There were several other tables that were waiting as long as us as well. Purple in color, the walls are large and barren. Some art from New Orleans can really make this place stand out. There was also a large juke box playing some R&B music. While I enjoy R&B, perhaps some jazz or other type of music would bring more of a NOLA feel this restaurant. On this night, the juke box was loud and very bassy. Lose the iPad. Paper and pen works much better – it’s cheaper, works and more efficient.

Crawfish and shrimp ettoufee was nasty. It was frozen and not fresh. The portion was small for $ 15.99. The kids chicken strip and fries was small portion too. The table next to us ordered the waffle & chicken and they sent it back because it was undercooked. Not going back here. I usually don’t write bad reviews but people need to be warned! I’m disappointed! The waiters take your orders from an ipad. They need to spend more money on the quality of the food and not buy frozen shrimp and crawfish.

Save your money! The Beignets are horrible – not truly a Beignet. The gumbo roux tastes awful. Beware of the $ 2 extra charge on the ‘to go’ orders. If the Beignets and gumbo are any indication of the rest of the food then I would say stay away. What a waste of money! For great Beignets try Crescent City Beignets near the Galleria Mall. It is totally worth it.

The Louisiana atmosphere was right on the money, but their famous chicken and waffles was somewhat disappointing. The chicken wings lacked cajun flavor and the waffles weren’t crispy enough. I tried the Who Dat Burger and thought it was somewhat dry. The menu has a wide selection, but I thought the prices could be lower.

So many good ideas followed by such lackluster implementation. I came here with Nhut L and the rest of the bunch for a Saturday Brunch. The ambiance is nice, the jazz music playing in the background and the décor was reminiscent of a Mardi Gras parade. We ordered a lot of food so be prepared to read. Appetizer Deviled Eggs. A Cajun twist on an old recipe. The egg mixture was not full of mustard, which is something I enjoy and the fried crawfish in the middle was a nice twist. I did enjoy these. Entrees Gumbo with a side of Fried Catfish — The gumbo was a bit strong with the herbs and spices, as if it was trying to be something it shouldn’t. The catfish tasted as if it had been sitting for a while. Catfish is already a pungent fish and I could taste all of it. Who Dat Burger with a side of Regular and Sweet Potato Fries — I had some of the Fries and I do like the mixture. I did not have any of the burger but Nhut L’s review does cover it. Chicken and Waffles — The chicken wings were slightly greasy and not crispy. The spices were there but I think it needed more flavor. Nothing exciting there. The waffles, despite some people’s opinions, I did enjoy. They were still crunchy when I ate them and the batter contained many different flavors, including some nuts, some cinnamon, and a few others I couldn’t discern. Service Our waitress was average. Attentive to most of our needs but she did forget a few items when we requested it. I do believe our order was also messed up because the time it took to get all of our food was a bit longer than expected. We got the burger and gumbo quickly but it took anothe 10 minutes or more to get the 3 orders of chicken and waflles out. Price A bit high in my opinion, especially when the food wasn’t up to par with the cost. The gumbo was 9 bucks and the chicken and waffles were 12. I doubt I’ll be coming back to try this place again because of the price and unexcited food I had this time.

I loved everything, but the wings. I need to taste the flavor and seasoning in the wings.

Went there for Sunday Brunch. Food was outstanding. Just 15 bucks a person and all four of us left there happy. Chicken Wings, Catfish and Okra were my favorits if I had some fried green tomatos I think I would have never left. Brunch consisted that day waffles, french toast, grits, sausage, stuffed mushrooms, potatos, pan sausage, eggs, gumbo, and a few items I am sure that I failed to mention. My waitress forgot her name short hair and big loop earings was the perfect server. Great New Orleans vibe going on there. They didn’t even get mad cause we all were wearing or Texans gear. Will be back for brunch again. We needed a place like this in our area. To many bland breakfast places(Chains)and Taco stands in the area. Loved the music. Wish you guys all the luck.

It was good, but the chicken needs a little more flavor. The Waffles were great and are served w/either eggs or potatoes. I had the eggs.

New Orlean’s Famous Chicken & Waffles is a welcome addition to the 1960&249 area, which is sadly lacking in good non-chain restaurants. The atmosphere is nice enough for a date but not stuffy or fancy at all. There were 2 TVs that I’m guessing usually get tuned to sports games. Everyone was really friendly(and accommodating to my mom’s taste buds, which are not accustomed to cajun cuisine) and helped us get out in time to catch our movie. I had the chicken and waffles(of course) which set you back something like $ 12, but definitely come with a generous amount of food. I liked the chicken better than the waffles(they were a little mushy). The chicken had just the right amount of spice and was so good with the maple syrup. Definitely get the breakfast potatoes. I’ll be going back for breakfast and beignets!

This place is in the set of shops where AMC Theater and Fingers Furniture are located with their restaurant across the parking area from BW3s. We saw their new sign up and decided to give them a try. They décor inside is simple but nice. Purple walls and white table cloths on the tables. There was New Orleans jazz music playing. They have a good selection of New Orleans classics on the menu. And it took me a bit to find the chicken and waffles on the menu as it was in the Breakfast menu portion but is served all day. We started with the crab balls which were very good. Tasty and cooked the way I like them. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and my wife ordered the Seafood Court Bouillon. When the food arrived, you could certainly tell there was plenty of cinnamon in the Waffles. I was surprised the waffles were soft and not crisp like a Belgian waffle. But they were good. The wings that come with the waffles(3 of them) were okay. Not bad but not spectacular … that sort of that. My wife’s Seafood Court Bouillon was similar to a thick gumbo and it was very VERY good. Great flavor in the sauce. I am anxious to try out some of the other items on the menu and will keep this place in mind for Breakfast the next time we head out for that.

We were pleased and excited to see this place open up near us. we had dinner on a friday night just a few days after it opened. The décor is nice, and the live cajun band was great. The fried chicken and waffle was fantastic! They’re still working out a few kinks, but we’ll be back…

The«coming soon» sign was still up when we went to eat breakfast there. They are open for business, but there are still a few hiccups to be worked out. The waiter was very nice and kept us updated on our food order, since it was taking a little longer than expected. The chicken & waffles were good. The waffle was big and wish I had 1 or 2 more chicken wings. It came with 3. The french toast was tasty as well.
