They wanted to charge me $ 3.99 just to mix my two crawfish flavors together which was one pound Cajun and one pound garlic butter. I’m not paying that. I mixed them myself for $ .Free. Crawfish was okay. Lotus Seafood on Veterans Memorial is long wait but better than just okay. I didn’t like the service or inaccurate weight of crawfish. Maybe I’ll give them a chance to be in my good graces at a later time.

This place has some hits and some misses. Visited here on two occasions. The first time was great. The restaraunt is nicely decorated and inviting. I ordered the gumbo, cheesy crawfish eggrolls, and a pound of crawfish with garlic butter. I thought the gumbo was delicious, the cheesy crawfish rolls were really good and I liked the crawfish though they were on the small side. They have a good selection of drinks including a hard to find Strawberry Passion Minute Maid drink which I really appreciated them carrying. I was loving this place and soon found myself craving it, so I hit it up again with a friend. The second time was a little disappointing. I ordered gumbo again, 2 pounds of crawfish and chicken wings for my daughter and beignets. The best thing about the meal was the beignets! They tell you to let them know when you are ready for them and then they fry them fresh for you. So they were hot and delicious and topped with powdered sugar and drizzled with honey. They were amazeballs! Unfortunately, the chicken wings were just okay, the gumbo was good but not as good as the first time, and the crawfish was horrible. They were small, mushy, overcooked and not fresh. They tasted like they had been frozen and then boiled. Many of them I could not eat because I couldn’t even peel them they were so mushy. I will probably go back when I am in the mood for a bowl of gumbo and some great beignets, but for crawfish I will stick to Tailgators and Wolfies-Cypress who have consistently good crawfish.

Only went here because we were shopping at BB&B next door and it was late so we thought let’s give them a try. Being from Louisiana I am always looking for a good place to eat. When we tried to order, at 1:45 on a Monday, they were out of crawfish tails, which immediately tells me if they HAVE crawfish to boil, yet DONOTHAVE tails, then the tails are not freshly prepared. I was also taken back they charge $.50 for each potato and something else I don’t remember for corn(because I was so taken back being charged for corn). There were about 6 other people in there, all eating boiled crawfish. They looked decent sized. They were $ 6.95 lb. We ate a shrimp poboy and fries. The bread was some of the better poboy bread I have had in Houston and impressed they actually butter the bread like a traditional NOLA shrimp poboy, rather than ruin it with mayo or ketchup. They have a ‘spread’ but I had them put it on the side. I was not too impressed as I mentioned I am a traditionalist. It came with fries the order taker said they put ON it. Do not get that, so again they were on the side and had a lot to be desired! Someone with us had buffalo chicken bites which they said had a great taste. The restaurant dining area was clean and they do hand out plastic giant table coverings for those eating the boiled crawfish to help with the mess. I may go back if I am in that part of town, but can’t decide yet if I would make an effort to go just to go.

Ok, so the first time I’ve been to LA Crawfish it was at the one in 99 Ranch and that one was bomb so I was expecting the same from this location. I think it is a franchise though so I didn’t get the same experience I was expecting. Granted that crawfish season doesn’t normally start until February, I was still expecting medium sized ones from them at least. We ordered 4 pounds and when we received them I could tell it was a small bunch. These were definitely frozen and all dead. Flavor was lacking majorly. Friend got the lemon pepper wings and fries and my other friend got the fried batter basket. They said it was actually good compared to the crawfish. We also got all of the different types of oysters — Thai Lime, Korean and Japanese. These were just Ok. Overall ratings: Food — 2 Environment — 2 Restrooms — 1 Service — 3 — Quick(you do have to clean up after yourself though)

I’ve been here on three occasions and the service is always a hit or a miss. And when it’s a miss, it’s pretty terrible. But today it was definitely better than the other times. I got a dozen oysters and crawfish. Both of which were ridiculously small but perhaps it was because of the season so the crawfish size doesn’t bug me. Crawfish is still flavorful and I do enjoy the amount of side sauces I can get. I was more so disappointed with the oysters. Usually some places will compensate for the smaller ones by giving an extra one or two so you don’t feel ripped off but this wasn’t one of them. But the taste is still good!

I really love the one in 99 Ranch Market. So I decided to give a try to this restaurant because it’s close to my house and the space looks much bigger. Food quality is average, I come here for Thai chili oysters which are very good, crawfish phở is also delicious. The crawfish is just ok, a little salty to me and too much sauce only coat outside the crawfish shells. They do sell beers. I would return to this place soon.

I have been here once and the customer service was horrible. I ordered the boiled spicy shrimp but when I picked my order up and looked at it when i got home I noticed they gave me crawfish instead. I called right back to inform them but all she had to say was, «When I repeated your order I said crawfish and you agreed«, which she didn’t. She then said«You can get the shrimp but you are going to have to pay the difference and you also have to bring the crawfish back uneaten.» That statement right there is what made me come to the conclusion that I will not be frequenting this establishment. Had I been a size 0 that statement never would have been said.

Met up with my family for a small celebration and I had the garlic butter hot crawfish with potatoes and corn. It was very tasty and not to hot. I love that you are able to bring your own drinks including soda, water, and beer. That’s a plus since you don’t have to buy their beverages. They have complimentary water which I also like. My daughter doesn’t like crawfish but they do offer wings and she had the Lemmon pepper wings which were huge and tasty as well. I’ll be returning to this location soon.

Have one star because the food is really good but the service is terrible. Both on the phone and in person. Ordered on the phone and was told we would be given a military discount and to bring the military ID when we came in to pay. Did that and then said they don’t give a military discount once we got there. Even talked to the manager and she declined to give us the discount. We asked for extra sauce on the side in return and the manager still said no. Our order was $ 158 of crawfish, shrimp and a poboy. Not too mention the order wasn’t ready when we got there in the time they told us. I recommend to any military personnel to not go to this LA Crawfish.

My friend and I ended up here after we discovered the restaurant we had planned on going to was closed. We weren’t sure what to order, but when we finally decided, we were thrilled with our decision. We started off with a dozen raw oysters. Then we had a pound of crawfish and a pound of shrimp. The crawfish comes from CA and was fresh. Shrimp looked/tasted like it came from The Gulf. We got a different seasoning for each. For the shrimp we got a garlic butter(loaded with garlic!). For the crawfish we got a Cajun seasoning. As we were leaving, people were coming in with their own beer. They sell beer, but they obviously don’t care if you bring your own. If you are looking for the Louisiana-style boiled crawfish or shrimp, this is not the place. Maybe that’s why some reviews aren’t the best. This is different with the sauces, but is excellent!!! We loved our dinner and can’t wait to go back!

I came here because I was in the area and couldn’t think of anywhere else to go at the time. I ordered 2 lbs of blue crabs(2 crabs), a bowl of meatball phở and 12 chicken wings. They only let you choose 1 flavor per 6 wings, so I chose«Thai tamarind» and«sweet and spicy». The Thai tamarind was terrible, but luckily the sweet and spicy was much better. The boiled crabs were fairly good-sized, but their staff wasn’t really helpful the day I came. I had to wait around for 10 minutes to finally get a pair of crackers for the crabs(which came out first). There is a sign by the register that says they have a $ 1 deposit on the crackers. I guess they have had problems with them walking away, but they didn’t ask me for a deposit. There was no one in the restaurant on a Sunday evening when I arrived, but by the time my food started coming out of the kitchen, a ton of people had came in and formed a long line at the register. The bowl of phở was barely passable(broth not that great) but someone that doesn’t eat this soup regularly at the better places(known for phở) may not be able to distinguish the difference. I guess service was my biggest complaint here. I still prefer the 99 Ranch location much better, as they have excellent service and their food is spot on.

I go to this location because it’s close to my boyfriend’s house, but I prefer the one in 99 Ranch more. The crawfish here are always smaller, the wings aren’t as flavorful, and the phở isn’t as fresh. The reason why I use to come here so often was because of the thai chili oysters, before they changed it to the green thai chili. Before it was so flavorful, sour, sweet, and with a hint of heat, but now it’s just spicy. CRAWFISH They usually overcook the crawfish and when you peel it, the crawfish meat is battered. It’s such a shame because the crawfish are already so small! CHICKENWINGS The wings here are alright, but they’re a bit too dry for my liking. PHO The meat doesn’t taste fresh at all and the broth isn’t as flavorful as the one in 99. THAICHILIOYSTERS These use to taste amazing! I always came here just for the oysters. They tasted so fresh and amazing, but lately they changed to the thai green chili and the flavor was gone and lacking and now replaced with just heat. If I still had my oysters than I would’ve given 3 stars, but now that has been taken away and I don’t think they deserve the stars nor do I come here anymore. The food here just isn’t up to par. The service isn’t memorable. Before, there were some people who were very kind, but now they hired some new people who are just plain rude and don’t smile at all. If I’m being kind to you. at least have the courtesy to smile! I’m gonna find me a new location in this area to get my crawfish fix now.

Ordered the crawfish phở based on the cashier’s recommendation. Was definitely worth it! No need for anything extra — Sriracha, soy sauce. nothing but a squeeze of lime. My mom just had some raw oysters and they were very nice as well. Not sure how I feel about having to buy bottled water and a condiment bar concept… but it was still great food. Just enough spice to keep me on my toes.

First of all, the cashier who took my to-go order was rude. You can tell she wasn’t a people person at all, like she didn’t want to be bothered. When I picked up my 4 pounds of crawfish and brought them home, they weren’t «fresh» it’s like they used frozen crawfish and overcooked them. It was about noon, I mean, you f*ck up crawfish that early in the day? You just opened the door… I’ll never go back. I’ll order pick up from my good ol faithful«LA, crawfish» down on 249 instead. Good try. Last try.

Well the 3 of us decided to give this place a shot even though it had 3 stars. I’m glad we did… The line was mediocre but do-able… Order the med Garlic butter crab legs, Cajun crawfish and a shrimp basket. Everything was very good, with no complaints from any of us. I did look for the things others reported negatively, went to the bathroom, even though they had some paper towels on the floor, the rest was cleaned and the men’s bathroom was typical and the sink wasn’t dirty or black. The entire place even with it being busy wasn’t as dirty a 1 gut made it seem. Also, there is a sign with directions on how things work around the place 1) order @ the counter 2) take a number and wait until it’s called or your name called. 3) Find a table place your white plastic table cloth on the table and enjoy your food. 4) Clean up after yourself and dispose of it in the garbage. This is all self serve. Lastly, this establishment has a BYO-Beer(soda) w/your own small personal size coolers. Which is a great plus! While we sat and ate our food for about an hour and half, Yes, the lines got long and sometimes stayed short but now think about it, would you really want to eat at a place that never had a line or never seen any people waiting. That tells me not to patronize that business, food may not be goods, which it’s just the opposite here. The food is on point, friendly cashiers and a BYOB, you can’t get any better than that! In my opinion I believe the people were just being over zealous and having a bad day and it didn’t matter how small or big the issue the people made, it would not be right in the writers eyes. I think the food is good, fresh, hot and on point. The only negative is they charge you a $ 2.50/$ 3.00 fee to mix sauces and .25 cents for a cup of ice, it should b given free if you are drinking water or buying a drink from them. Oh there is no soda machine to purchase sodas, they seem them and sports drinks. I will be returning sooner than later!!!

The good: Crawfish are exceptional. .we got 7 lbs of the cajun flavored and they were very awesome. great flavor, not overcooked. .great flavor, juicy heads! Corn and sausage also good. BYOB is a great option too! Chicken bites are good. so are the crawfish empeñados. The Bad: Long shitty lines, 80 cent cups of ice, soda machine was out of order… Slobbish patrons did not bus(clean) their own tables and the bathroom looked like a pack of hyenas bathed in the sink… Verdict: I will be back for the great food, nice counter wait staff, but the line and the broke ass drink machines and nasty unclean tables and bathroom leave alot to be desired.. I give them a «weak» 3. but only because the crawfish was so damn good!

I went with some friends. The drink machines were broken, 25cents for a cup of ice. I had the crawfish cheese rolls, BBQ crab, 4 lbs of crawfish. Now I ordered 4lbs thinking it would be just as good as the I-10 location, wrong ! The crawfish was ok some of them were either over cooked or frozen it didn’t taste very fresh. On another note the crawfish cheese rolls were good and the BBQ crab special was phenomenal. They need to reevaluate their procedures so they get pretty busy whenever you want a drink or something else you have to stand back in line. Sometimes a long line at that. No bueno if you have been dining for a while and trying to relax and converse with friends. I won’t be back to this location. 2 stars is for the food and service.

OK so it’s been a while since I’ve posted a review but I thought I’d give a nice, detailed one about this place since my partner and I have visited at least four or five times in the past couple months. I must admit I was surprised to see that LA Crawfish has about 2 stars on Unilocal, but then we started discussing the cons and I couldn’t give the restaurant more three. Let’s get to the key reasons why I gave this place three stars: Lacks structure — The last three times we visited, the line was off the Richter scale. One time we even left because there were too many people and no tables in sight. Patrons must stand in line as soon as they walk in and it’s not regulated at all. For example, a woman who had already ordered and sat down, hopped in front of everyone else(it seemed like she was going to ask for napkins or something quick) and placed a completely new order. Cashiers are slow– It could be that people take too long to order, but hey. During our most recent visit, the young lady wasn’t that friendly. I purchased a drink and asked for an ice cup after paying and she told me I’d have to pay for it and 80 cents for cup of ice is bananas. Going alone is a bad idea during a busy time — Your dining buddy is necessary because someone needs to secure a table while the other is standing in line. Otherwise you can end up without a table after you’ve ordered. Cleaning up is a must — I don’t mind cleaning up after myself, but some of the patrons are either lazy, rude, or dumb because they have no problem leaving crawfish/crab/chicken carcass on their tables and heading home. Yesterday we had to clean the table before we were able to sit at it. Soda machines were down, they charge for ice and water, and drink prices are outrageous — Tap water wasn’t really an option for anyone yesterday as the machines were«out of order» along with everything else in the drink section. They also profit wayyyy too much for the sale of beers, juice, soda, etc. My parter bought an apple juice and a beer and ended up paying nearly $ 7. The food — I LOVE the taste of the crawfish and have no complaints about it. I haven’t purchased the shrimp or the crab simply because the price is too high and I’d rather go to the grocery store. Their fried crawfish tails are amazing and so are the crawfish empanadas! The french fries are not the best, but they’ll do. I don’t appreciate paying $ 5 for them though. BYOB — Last but not least, I’ll address this blessing/curse. Since drinks cost too much here, it’s good that patrons are able to bring their own. However, people abuse this and bring in entire coolers, 12 packs, and more. It’s kinda sad actually because what started as a cool concept is now a hassle because people aren’t just eating here, they’re staying and drinking which further ties up tables that can be used for other customers. There should be a 2 drink per person rule or something of the sort because people walk in with boxes of beer as if they’re headed to a tailgate party. I believe this restaurant will end up needing security as a result of its current BYOB policy. I hope this review helps folks decide whether or not to dine here, but more importantly I hope the owner of LA Crawfish reads this and aims to make some improvements, starting with the 80 cent water/ice cups. I can see paying a quarter or maybe even 50 cents, but 80? Let’s be serious. Will we visit this location again? More than likely because the food is yummy, but we’ll specifically avoid the busy weekend evenings.
