This place has great service and fast, fresh food. You order at the counter and they bring you food out to you. The salads and soups are delicious.

Just ate at this Newk’s location. I have never been to this particular Newk’s before as I was in Houston visiting. The restaurant appears to be a newer one. I ordered my usual Newks«Q» and asked for no bacon with the BBQ sauce on the side. We went to find a booth(had our newborn baby with us in his carrier so needed to be able to set him on the seat) to sit in and wait for our food. The only booth that was available in the restaurant happened to be dirty and we couldn’t find anyone to clean it. I grabbed paper towels from the bathroom and wiped up the leftover food remnants myself. Upon receiving my food, they completed my request accurately. The sandwich was fine but the BBQ sauce had a funny taste to it. After eating a few bites of my sandwich I noticed there was a hair on it, which was extremely off putting. My husband noticed that the manager was walking around the restaurant checking on all the tables to see how their food was and he literally went to every table except ours. I could not see this as my back was to him. I don’t know if he didn’t want to come over because we had a sleeping baby but we were sitting there talking. My husband took our baby out to the car because he was starting to fuss and I figured that the manager would now come over. Well I was wrong. At that point I was done with my experience there. I should have gone to the manager myself but with an upset baby and having several hours to drive home I left. Needless to say I am disappointed in my experience especially since I’ve been eating at Newk’s for years and this is the first bad experience I’ve had.

Nothing special but great for lunches and quick dinners. It is definitely very similar to Café Express. There’s a huge menu with salads, sandwiches, soups, pizzas and mac & cheese. They also have a To-Go/Express section where you can grabbed prepared sandwiches, salads and sides. All the food I’ve tried so far has been only okay. Their dishes look and taste very simple.

Newk’s is a nice soup and sandwich spot, but food can be hit or miss! Yesterday, I went there to burn some time because of the heavy traffic on I-10! I ordered the Grill chicken sandwich with fruit, and a side order of lobster bisque with half bread! I was initially disappointed, because when you think grill chicken, you think either whole or sliced. It was deli sliced grill chicken, it was cool, but missing that juicy bite regular slice grill chicken gives. Nevertheless, the sandwich was actually pretty good!(3.5/5) It came with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard! I wanted tomato basil soup with the sandwich but they actually rotate different soups from day to day, so tomato basil wasn’t on the menu. Instead, I went with the lobster bisque(first time trying it) and it was actually pretty good as well! I think I would have to try lobster bisque from a few different places to gauge how good Newk’s version is, but I was satisfied with it! Today, with all this rain, I was in the mood for soup and a sandwich again! Found out that Newk’s offer online ordering, commence to ordering something before I went on lunch break. I went with the steak sandwich and tomato basil soup! Now the online system told me my order would be ready at 1:30pm, I got there at 1:35pm my order wasn’t ready. Some people throw fits about that but I was like cool, whatever I’ll wait.(received order at 1:43pm) Got back to work, and pulled my sandwich out, I was immediately disappointed! The steak looked dry as f**k! Again, it was deli sliced type but seem like it was semi-cooked. The sides and ends where dry looking and the supposedly grilled onions that come on there cooked a few weeks ago, weeks ago! Lol I ate as much as I could be that sandwich was easily 1⁄5 stars. The tomato basil soup was good, but La Madeleine version has a richer taste. Maybe since I came after the lunch crowd, I got their leftovers?! This place has potential though.

Just came in to Newks Eatery and they were very informative on the menu, couldn’t resist my favorite soup pulled pork! And my roast beef combo. Plus I was able to add caramelized onion to it! I love this place. And the staff was smiling my whole visit, a manager came to visit me to see how everything was, we’ll I told Dana that I would be back again to eat on my way out of town on Saturday! Thanks Newks Bunker Hill! You made another Newks visit A-mazing!!!

Nice, new lunch dining experience. Very new establishment and very clean with a quaint décor. Food I tried was good. Check online, there are only a few locations. Mostly about sandwiches, pizzas, salads, etc. which are not bad at all. The Italian sandwhich was a little spicy with the peppers included. Too much onion. No prob. Overall pretty good. Mac and cheese as an upgraded was worth it.

Huge portions on salads and soups. Sandwiches appear to be normal size. Been here a couple of times with the kids. They use really good mustards, so be careful if you don’t like flavorful mustard(my son will only eat yellow). We have loved just about everything we have had.

I had the steak sandwich with coleslaw. Delicious! The service was friendly and the food super fresh. I think the coleslaw could be my fave of anywhere else! The restaurant was clean, well lit and in a convenient location, but the temperature inside the restaurant was almost unbearable. Outside was 70 degrees but inside was way hotter. I finished the meal quickly to get outside for fresh air! Delicious food, but get it to go!

This spot isn’t for me but would I trash them… no This is a fast casual spot and great for families. The quality of the food was good and the staff are fast and polite. Is the food wonderful… And hit me as a foodie spot? No. But is it the worst place I have ever been… no I would definetly add this to an office worker type lunch or somewhere to go with kids. They have healthy choices that taste good. So worth a try! And probably good to do a «to go meal»…

I wish I would have tried their sandwiches before I had the pizza, now I can’t imagine not ordering the pizza, it is simply that amazing, best I have ever had in all of my 53 years. The veggie is my new favorite pizza. Maybe some day I will try a sandwich, I’m sure they are just as amazing. The Tea is great too!

Concept and menu is good, but execution is lackluster. Newk’s is almost a carbon copy of Café Express, down to the glass jars of roasted garlic, croutons, pickles, etc… to the crunchy breadsticks. Menu is similar as such– soups, salads and sandwiches, but Newk’s has pizzas. I had the ahi tuna salad which looked delicious and sounded delicious, but they completely over drenched the salad with dressing which ruined it. It was borderline inedible. My husband’s Cesar salad was completely soaked in creamy Cesar dressing, to the point you could barely see the green on the lettuce! On the way out, I could see other empty tables with barely eaten salads that looked way over dressed too. Overall, will return to try other items, but if you get the salad, as for the dressing on the side!

Food is good and the place is clean and nice, but man is the service bad. No mustard or mayo out, so be prepared to wait 15 minutes for those to come out if you order a sandwich. Then, the guy who brought the container of mustard dropped it and spilled it on the floor. If you ask for a to-go container to take home leftovers they’ll look at you like you have 3 heads, and then take 5 minutes to bring you one. No one brought silverware to my table and it’s not available w the condiments — I had to go get it myself from the kitchen.

This place leaves a lot to be desired. The black and blue was awful. Meat was well done and probably cooked several days ago. Gross. I will not be back.

I was super excited when I heard Newk’s would be opening in Houston. The first time I had it was in College Station and it was a staple in my college diet. I have missed it since then and was glad that my company ordered from there for lunch one day! I ordered the ahi tuna salad and mac and cheese. The tuna and salad was fresh and was a good sized portion. The mac and cheese was great as well. I’ve tried their pizzas before and they’re cooked perfectly and the crust isn’t too thin or thick and has a good bite to it. They really have anything imaginable on their menu so going with a big group would never be an issue. Pizzas, sandwiches, soups, and salads — everything is always tasty and quick.

I’ve been to several Newks locations before and have become a regular but there hasn’t been one I’ve liked as much as this one. It’s very new but all of the staff are extremely knowledgeable and the fact it’s not a traditional restraint doesn’t stop them from providing assistance and checking in on their guests. I’ve never had such good, genuine service at a Newks or many other places. I’ll definitely be visiting this location again!!!

I arrived and found Peking easily. The cashier who was the manager was nice and knew what he was talking about and knew what was on the menu. I ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza and a club sandwich. The prices were very reasonable and the restaurant itself was clean. The food arrived in 10 minuets and it was hot and fresh. The sweet tea although is not so sweet and it took them 10 minuets to refill the water for my friend. We never asked about it but they checked back on the drink area twice and they didn’t notice it. Either way great. Not the best place I’ve ever been but good quality for a good price and I will definitely be coming back! On a side note the entrance is not hugely displayed so be careful so you don’t have to make that uturn at bunker hill.

This place is a hidden gem in the heart of spring branch(well it’s not that hidden, right of I-10) but if you haven’t been here you’re missing out! Whenever we got there, the first thing you see to your left is the menu in big bright colors and the font is huge so if you’re as blind as me you will have no problem reading it. Once we were ready to order there was only one cashier there and some people waiting for to place their order, the manager came immediately and started taking our order! He was fast precise and even gave me all the options for my side! I got the Newk’s Club which was delicious with the right amount of bacon and honey mustard it was to die for! My fiancé ordered a pepperoni pizza with sausage it was a personal size just the right amount to fill you up but still have room for dessert(unfortunately I didn’t get any this time) will be deff becoming back.

I have friends that have been anticipating this arrival of this Eatery. We stopped for lunch and it was fantastic. The portions are large enough for two, so be prepared to split some of the yummy items. We had the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and the Shrimp Remoulade Salad — both were wonderful. I love the fact that you can order at the counter and they bring the food to the table for you — really more efficient for getting folks fed quickly. The quality of the foods was great and the service was perfect. Very Impressed and will be back soon! Great family spot.

Pre-food review. The brunette girl at the register must be new or something. I ordered the adult grilled cheese with a fountain drink with fruits as the side and she proceeded to tell me that the kids menu comes with a small side… i told i was ordering an adult grilled cheese with a fountain drink with fruits as the side. I also ordered the five mac and cheese, side size not the entrée size. I said it twice just in case she didnt hear me. There was no one around us so i didnt understand why she didn’t get my order right. She asked me twice if i wanted the side size or the entrée size. I told her side size and i guess she didnt understand that i only wanted the side size. No, i do not want the entrée size. I only want a side size… nothing too hard to comprehend.

The manager accidentally spilled my drink on phone but this will not stop me from giving this location a whopping 5 stars, the Ahi Tuna Salad was just fantastic, fresh, light yet filling, the Newks Q pizza is a delight as well. Great food. We will be back for more. ..

This is a great addition to the neighborhood. It’s healthy food in good portions, sold at very reasonable prices in a bright, friendly environment. It will be a good lunch place and casual dinner place to keep in the rotation. It’s clear that they are taking aim at café express market share. The set-up is pretty similar and shares the same little breadstick and pickle station. Newks menu is salad, soups, pizza and something else that escapes me at the moment(update: it’s sandwiches). The menu has less diversity than what café express offers but it’s great value for healthy dishes served promptly in a nice environment.

Went here for their soft opening this week and they are truly on their game. I went to school where the original was located and have been wanting a location here. Like any restaurant, they have kinks to work out but they are willing to try and get them out during this week before which I have a lot of respect for. For the food, I had a cup of potato soup loaded. It was just as I remembered it was. Truly my favorite cup of soup anywhere. I also had the Debra pizza which I had never had before(yes even me). The chicken, bacon, pesto combo is incredible yet again. The service was incredible. From the greeters at the door to the bus boys. They truly are trying to get the service correct from the start. I encourage you if you’ve never been to newks. Please go. Get a great newks salad and soup. Roll over café express there’s a new guy in town
