This place may be a bakery but this is my not-so-secret place to get Taiwanese style beef jerky. They make these in small batches so it is best to call ahead to make sure they have them in stock. They have this beef jerky in Spicy or Fruit flavored. The spicy isn’t super spicy but its very delicious. If you have not had Taiwanese beef jerky, go give this place a try. The meat is tender and juicy. What makes this place different is that their materials seem to be more authentic. The beef jerky requires refrigeration because there are no preservatives added. This brings me to the bread and cakes. They are very delicious as well. You will not get the overwhelming sense of artificial butter or milk when you walk into the bakery or bite into their bread. I asked and they confirmed that they do not use artificial flavorings to enhance the smell/taste. It smells and tastes as it should: bread. Lastly, I am not sure what it is called but it is a pudding like thing that looks like a reverse crème brûlée. It has the sugar at the bottom. It is super thick and heavy and creamy and heavenly. You will see it in the cake section. Give that a try. It’s good.

I will return again this place was small and unique. Was my first time and the things we bought were delicious. The concept is you walk in and grab a tray then walk along the pastry filled shells and pick what you want. The prices are very reasonable. I thought for the amount we got it was. I had the walnut stuff crust thing. Crap I can’t remember the name exactly but it had walnuts raisins and was crunchy and dry. I love it. The crust was on point if you like a simple state of something that’s just good to munch on. Will return again to further explore this little bakery.

This place and six ping are my favorite bakeries! So they get just as good as a review. Both are pretty similar in flavor, pricing, bakery goods. When I went they didn’t have as much but I’m assuming because it was a Wednesday. Maybe they serve more during the weekends.

I’m from Taiwan. This is the best Chinese bakery in Houston l have tasted ever. 30 years history and tradition flavors always remind me of home. I highly recommend their Chinese moon cake. It’s delicious! You definitely can’t miss this bakery in Houston!

I am deeply very upset about my previous experience at this bakery. Despite all the mediocre/bad reviews about this bakery, I still gave them a chance and ordered a cake for my grandmas 94th birthday!(Come on, that’s SUPER old and is a big deal!!!) I ordered here because my favorite bakery shop, Le Duc is closed for 9 days. Anyways I decided to give them a try because how bad could a customize cake order go wrong at a bakery place?! Well surprise, it sure did. First of all, I SPECIFICALLY wanted roses and strawberries together on a heart shaped cake that coordinates with the flavor and cake(my grandma has very high standards) and I did customers pay for what they really want/need. I told them I wanted two flowers made from fruits and then three flowers(red, pink, or purple) in the center of the cake. I spent 45 minutes with the owner(a woman) to go over all the details. I was very sure my cake and this place would be a 5 stars, despite all the bad negative reviews. I was very disappointed that they only take cash, so I told the owner I will be back to pay her in cash but to make it anyways because this is pretty much a very big event! She also told me to pick my cake up at 6:30. I MADESURE I WASGOINGTOPICKUPTHECAKEANDTOPLEASEMAKETHECAKE. The bakery never made the cake because I did not pay first, which I think is ridiculous because come on, who orders and customizes a cake, but not come back and pay and pick up for the cake ?!! Future more, when I went to pay and pick up the cake that WASNOTMADE, I was very upset and the guy owner said they would make the cake in one hour. So I came back in an hour, and the cake was horrible!(No flower, like what I ordered and wanted), instead they gave me two white cream flowers. It is a bad luck color to Chinese people, basically if you aren’t getting married, white is a very bad color. All in all, my experience was very horrible based on lack of communication, the cash only, and the lack of satisfaction of making their customers happy, especially in a big highlight like this: a 94th birthday

Not as good as it used to be. The cakes weren’t fresh and dry. I specifically asked what was inside the cake and was told it was just fruits. The cake had fruits and nuts. My son is allergic to nuts. Not coming back here again.

Whenever we’re at DiHo(now Jusgo), Lai Lai, Don’s, Mala Sichuan, or May’s(now Xin Jiang), we always stop by Olympic for snacks. Whether it’s the egg yolk custard or mochi balls, it’s always a treat for some good dessert.

Guys be careful of this place. This bakery was one of my favs years ago but in the recent couple of years it has gone bad. Been there multiple times I figured I give them another chance but it’s again big disappointment. I ordered a cake and was not as what I wanted once about 3 months ago. Until today I bought some baked goods and multiple of my colleagues had stomach ache. I will be returning with my medical bills. The baked goods are definitely not fresh. Couple of months ago I bought bread that tasted sour and later found mold in them. Horrible. If you want to try make sure you look carefully. I suggest paying 15 cents more and go somewhere else. Also the owner looked like she didn’t want our business. Honestly we don’t need her bread.

Nice place to stop by after eating in the shopping center. The bakery has many different treats for a dollar or two. We picked up some delicious cake that tastes like cheesecake, banana bread/cake that tastes like fresh bananas, and buttery-tasting and custard breads. Very fresh and delicious. Cash only, the staff is friendly and helpful.

I love this place! The guys here are amazing! I bought a bunch of pastries for cheap!!! Everything is fresh and hand made to perfection! My favorite would be the thin and crispy almond cookies! The Chinese guy with the glasses is awesome!!! He’s friendly and quick! This is my new bakery place!

i’ve been hesitant to Unilocal about this place because i didn’t want to reveal my secret macaron place! lolll although their macarons aren’t top notch, they’ll satisfy the cravings for a fraction of the price. at $ 1.25 for one and buy 6 get 1 free, this place has a much better deal than most other macaron places which can be expensive like $ 2 at sweet in city center. their flavors vary from the traditional chocolate, almond, blueberry, etc to more asian-geared ones like green tea or taro. the cashier was rly nice although her english was hard to understand. she did say that the macarons are baked fresh on the weekends so that would be the best time to buy them or else they wont taste as good. there you have it Unilocalers. my secret is revealed lolll

I’ve only gone here to purchase cream cakes with fruit filling, but I may not come back. I ordered one for my mom’s birthday and they made me a fresh one in 30 minutes! Took it home, and we loved it! Not too sweet and filled with lots of fruit. The second time I ordered the same cake for my aunt’s birthday and wow… the icing was SALTY!!! Salty whipped cream icing? GROSS. No idea how that happened.

I don’t know how to describe this place other than to say it’s a neat little place to drop into to pick up some $ 1 – 2 treats.

This has been one of my favorite Chinese bakeries to go to for years. They have almost everything I like from Taro buns to Coconut cream buns and are always consistent with their baked goods. I try to stop by here each time I’m in Bellaire. Friendly cashier and consistently good baked goods!

I’ve been going to Olympic Bakery since I was 6(?) and after all these years and a new owner — I still love this place! When I walked in a couple of weeks back and realized NOONE looked familiar, I was a bit skeptical. But, I quickly calmed myself and realized the new owners seem to have brought several good improvements. The pastries were now sealed in plastic bags(they were left in the open before) and the bakery looked — clean? And thankfully, I still saw all of the«classic»(20+ years qualifies something as «classic», yes?) bread I love! There was the salad sandwich(and it was actually refrigerated! /I also haven’t seen this offered at any other bakery BTW), the pineapple bread, the pork sung w/mayo, the wife cake, etc. The bread was fresh, soft, and didn’t feel nearly as greasy as some other Asian bakeries. It also remained soft for the next couple of days.(much more than I can say for the stuff I’ve been picking up the Ranch 99 bakery out of convenience) We also tried several cake flavors(we’re in a search of a wedding cake) and were thoroughly surprised! They offered samples of apricot, green tea, raspberry, peanut, black sesame, strawberry, and the regular sponge cake. We had low expectations perhaps, but they actually had a tray of samples ready — at an Asian bakery! We left there happy that day and scarfed down a pastry right in the parking lot. Fiancé would have no doubt gone for seconds if we were not on our way to dinner!

This bakery is one of the more popular ones around Houston, it seems. I will say that this aspect only applies to Asian bakeries. I cannot speak on behalf of all other bakeries around town. There is quite a good selection, and some offerings are more unique. I liked that they had this green tea red bean bun, and that just goes to show that they have more variety than most shops around. For all those who love starchy, greasy, artificial baked goods, Olympic Chinese Bakery is your go-to spot. The grub is cheap, and well… I love an exciting name like Olympic Chinese Bakery. Do you think that they will pick up even more steam after the Olympics begin?

I haven’t tried anything else in this place — nothing really appeals to me except this one pastry that is displayed in the open. It’s on a large pan and it is shaped like a bow-tie. I call it the«bow-tie» I have no idea what the real name of this thing is. It is covered in honey and black sesame seeds. It has a crunchy texture and it TASTE delicious!!! Sometimes my girlfriend would surprise me with these treats and I would literally eat them all in front of her. I hope this place never closes down because this is one of my favorite sweets. As i’m writing this I wish I lived closer to china town so that I could just drive there and pick it up to eat as a late night snack…

The service is absolutely wonderful! Really! We ordered a cake for Mother’s Day on Friday and they had to bake it, but said it could be ready at our desired time 6p.m. from 1p.m. of our presence. Great! Blackforest cake is what we ordered… we usually get it from further down the street Jungle, but I just had to try this place, that I haven’t been to since six years. My mother in law said it tasted sour… the frosting tasted like alcohol. yeah what the heck.alcohol.to be exact tequila from wells, not like upper class tequila… and the taste it wasn;t sweet at all, a little bit of fruit. That taste was horrifyingly icky and actually gave me a tiny stomach ache later… Being a breastfeeding mother I was worried about any alcohol content now… and this sucks sitting on the toilet! Should’ve stuck with Jungle! I’m not even sure if the strawberries were thoroughly washed. Service: Great! Food: Watch out! Desserts: This cake was«to die for» be careful… you and I have been warned!
