I ordered their chicken tenders and french fries for $ 10.83. What I received was chicken nuggets. When I inquired if that was what they considered«chicken tenders» I was told yes, I got 6 peices of chicken. I now know next time to not order from them.

The only thing I can be reviewing is the Hickory Burger since that’s all I have ever gotten. It’s quite filling, and some very delicious fries. Loss of a star because I think it’s slightly pricey, and I have had a better burger before.

We came to Ottos on the first day of arriving at Houston for a conference. We weren’t looking for anything authentic, but liked the idea of going to a bbq place in Texas even if it was bad or not. I ordered a brisket combo with dirty rice and broccoli rice casserole. Brisket was not too dry and tasted decent with the barbecue sauce. Dirty rice resembled Spanish rice a little bit. Broccoli rice casserole was actually decent when it was still hot. Their meats are all wrapped in saran wrap which was kind of sketchy. It was a little expensive for food court food, but the portions were decent. If you’re hungry, it’ll do the trick.

This is definitely not the best barbecue restaurant in Houston, but their breakfast is pretty decent but mostly because of their giant biscuits. The breakfast menu is typically eggs, bacon, omelets, biscuits and gravy, etc. The biscuits are big and fluffy which is great, and I really enjoy their potato hash that comes with most breakfast dishes. They’re not hash browns so I’m not sure how to describe them. Omelets are good and for a little extra they will make it with all egg-whites. BBQ is decent. The sauce is probably the best part. Other than that there isn’t too much to say about the barbecue. It taste like any fast food-esque barbecue place. Good BBQ for the downtown lunch rush, but not for those seeking excellent BBQ.

Crappy! DRY ¼ White meat. I mean I get it. Chicken breast is gonna be dry. But not like choke me dry. Broccoli Rice Casserole. Undercooked. Like severely. If it was chicken, I’d get salmonella. Order. I asked the lady if I get a bottle of water instead of soda(which my meal comes with), is it the same. «Yes.». Wrong. She charged me for water separately. And didn’t even hand it to me. Geez. Thanks. I’d rather you say — «No hablo Ingles». CYA Ottos. There’s TONS of competition for such bad service and bad food. Guess you’ll be the next Au Bön Pain in the parkshops. Who? Yeah… that’s right…

I’ve eaten here twice. Won’t be going back for the que. Not so much as a wisp of smoke to their meat. It’s no wonder they are so generous with sauce.

This place was highly recommended by one person but another person told me not to go there. I should have listened to the second person. I had BBQ sandwich, chips, and a pop. The sandwich was large and looked great. It did not have a good taste. The meat was fatty and gristly. I could not taste the sauce but it was there. There were hard chunks of meat in there that were not pleasant. They had a grill area where you can order other food but I did not try that. They had a good selection of food so maybe something else would have been better.

This place is pretty much my fall back when all the lines around the shops are super long around lunch time. One section of this joint is where you can the meat and sides, which runs about $ 8+, and then the other section is where they used the grill. I’ve eaten from both lines and they deliver satisfying dishes. On the meats side I usually get the brisket platter, and every time I bring it back up to the office, people always flock to my office because it just smells yummy. Most of the time though I result to the mushroom swiss burger meal. The service is fast which I appreciate with the long lines around the madness in the shops area during lunch time. Like what the others mentioned, there’s nothing that stands out, but the food does its job and service is good.

Acceptable but nothing special. Burger beef seemed like from frozen low-grade patty. Meh.

Lately Houston Center has been the spot the Son and I visit on late Friday afternoons. If anyone has been, you know the place gets scarce around 3pm. Just the way I like it. On this day I decided to try Otto’s for myself. Can’t tear son away from his Chick-Fil-A kids meal. They were closing it down when I walked in. Dude behind the counter asked me what I wanted. Said he would hook me up. Man, did he ever. I ordered the Turkey baked potato. Loaded down with everything. Surprisingly the turkey wasn’t dry for that late in the day. You can see the butter oozing out of the side. Sour cream still had that coolness to it. Damn near a perfect turkey baked potato. I have tried many a turkey baked potato in my life. This ranks up there at the top of my list. You know what, not ashamed to say I ate the whole damn thing. One drawback though is the employees on cellphones while guest are in the store. Lost a star for that reason. I’ll definitely come back after I try a few other places in Houston Center.

Beware diners! Otto’s gave my husband severe food poisoning! He had the«special» chili cheeseburger. Reported the incident to the health department.

BBQ sandwich REAL good, but not much food for the price. So you won’t get a lengthy review.

I’ve really only eaten at Otto’s for breakfast, but what I can tell you is that their breakfast platters are good — its more like chuckwagon style breakfasts. The biscuits and gravy are good here, and so are their«hashbrowns», which are really more like potato chunks mixed with some onion — very tasty! The salsa they have is wonderful. So, itchin’ for some breakfast? swing by(its in Houston Center, 3rd floor) for a change of direction from that morning muffin or doughnut.
