Charcoal chicken is amazing. The chicken here is incredible. During lunch time there will be a line going outside the door and for good reason. Best rotisserie chicken in town!

Maybe the worst dining value in Houston. Don’t be fooled by the seemingly low prices. The problems abound. First, the good news is that their chicken tastes pretty good. It’s probably 4 stars on taste. Unfortunately, on several visits, the chicken legs and thighs were so small it could have been a large quail. My half chicken(four pieces) had less meat than two pieces from KFC or any place else. They also jack up the prices through add ons. I asked if I can get my half chicken all dark. Sure, the cashier tells me, but doesn’t tell me it’s 69 cents extra until after I pay. Not extra for all white like many places, but 69 cents for either. It’s on the menu but not obvious. The choclo was cold and so overcooked it was crisp on one side. The arepa were dry and among the worst in Houston. My bill? $ 16.64 for a half chicken(only) with two little arepa, a chaclo, a plantain with cheese, and a can of Dr. Pepper. I’m glad I ordered extra since the chaclo went to the trash after one bite. They take a while to serve you even though there were few there, but the biggest drawback is that they either don’t have air conditioning or they don’t run it. On my last visit, it was 83 degrees outside. It was even warmer inside. They have fans running, but that’s it. When I walked out, it was so much cooler even directly in the sun. I prefer La Reyna Tortilleria or Dodo’s Chicken to Pollo Rip-Off, I mean Pollo Riko.

The chicken was crispy it tasted good but no flavor you need to add the green sauce for it to taste good plantean n yucca were good my kids love the planteans… rice was blend n beans I had more bones than beans… don’t get me wrong they were good but i expected more beans… mashed potatoes tasted out of a box… n corn is to extremely butterly n over cooked dried out… restroom are decent I like that… price rage was good… family platter n drinks was around 30… bucks with tax and all…

The 2 stars are for the spicy green sauce and the crispy chicken skin. I had the ½ chicken with salted potatoes and corn on the cob. The food was fresh, but the corn had too much butter, the salted potatoes were like boiled potatoes with salt and the chicken didn’t have any flavor at all. The only good thing about the chicken was the crispy skin. The green sauce is served at most other places that sell chicken like this so I knew it would be good. Wouldn’t come back.

I had a bad experience there. The potions were small and taste was not that good and they asked for only cash. Also, Unilocal said that we could get juice for free if we mention Unilocal.I did not get my juicy instead they gave me soft drink.

I tried to buy some chicken but wasn’t able to because they take cash only. That’s a bit odd never been to a restaurant where the only payment method is cash. Another thing is that their bathrooms smell like sewage really disgusting which kinda affects the tables near the bathroom. I doubt coming to give them a try by paying cash only.

Place is delicious and super cheap. Definitely beats fried chicken. A good healthy option

Wow… Really not all that good. It’s cash only? Portion for price is terrible. Soup lacked a lot of flavor. Won’t be back. Save your money for Dodo’s! It’s down the street!

A full rotisserie chicken meal for 6 bucks? Yeah, I am a fan. I try to keep it relatively healthy so I got the ¼ white meat chicken with salad and beans. Not too shabby…

The best rotisserie chicken in town!(Cash-only) Been coming here for over 6 years. Polite, quick counter service. I mostly get my meal as take out.

A decent chicken roast place. Get whole/half/quarter and a bunch of different sides. I had a half chicken, beans, and salted potatoes. The chicken was pretty decent but nothing special. Salted potatoes were… just that. Good though. Beans were good too. Nothing was really great, but it was super cheap.

Visited for the first time and even thou it looks like a hole in the wall, the food makes up for its appearance. I have to say the rotisserie chicken compares to none here. Definitely will be revisiting… one note, bring cash because they don’t accept credit cards.

Chicken was soooo good nice and juicy and flavorful. I ate so quick I didn’t get a chance to snap a picture haha. We got a ½ chicken with rice and beans(counted as two sides, but I think rice and beans should always go together!) and 2 mini empanadas(fried and crispy). I wish the sides were a tad big bigger, but overall the food was great and good prices!

The rotisserie chicken here is always perfectly seasoned and cooked. I usually go with the dark meat, rice, and salted potatoes, cant go wrong. Price is definitely worth it, cheap. Comes with corn tortillas. Staff is friendly, speaks english.

Chicken and fried yuca were really good! I got the dark meat and it was really juicy and tasty. Wish they gave you more food. One thing I noticed is that they don’t pay that much attention to sanitation. I had to send my first chicken plate back because it had something from the oven mitt on it. Overall, pretty good I’d probably give them a 3.5 if I could. If you’re in the area check it out.

I’m an avid lover of holes in the wall — especially affordable ones. With that said, I LOOOVE Pollo Riko! The chicken is perfectly charred and has a tasty dip to go along with it. Make sure you ask for extra. :) As for the sides, I love the fried plantains, yucca and boiled potatoes. The rice and beans are pretty standard, but aren’t bad. The one side I don’t care for at all is the mashed potatoes… they taste pretty gummy. The corn tortillas are the perfect vehicle for the tasty chicken. You can get a whole meal for under 20 bucks. It’s seriously so cheap and delicious, as well! Though the atmosphere isn’t super nice and service is hit or miss, this place is well worth it and cheap! Did I mention it’s cheap?

This is the best rotisserie chicken I have ever had. It is not spicy or even particularly seasoned. It is just charcoal roasted with incredible natural flavor and very juicy. The prices are reasonable, but they only take cash. The sides are hit or miss. If the yucca has been sitting under the heat lamps for too long it is pretty much inedible, but if it is fresh it is good.
