Where else can you get local organic food at a restaurant? Absolutely fantastic food! Creative, great-tasting and not expensive. It is a popular place, so be aware that it is generally packed and loud. I prefer to sit in their outdoor section.

Was really disappointed and found this to be over priced for what was received. Ordered the spicy shrimp tacos which should have just been called spicy peach tacos. Actually the spicy peach sauce is delicious. My problem is that the shrimp were so small and so few that there was no shrimp flavor at all. Probably won’t be coming back for below average fare.

This is a consistent go-to spot for me. The food is high quality, it tastes great, and it’s very reasonably priced for the value. They use local ingredients and incorporate a lot of organic low-gluten food. There are many great items on the menu. The blackened shrimp salad is probably the best salad there but the other ones are pretty tasty also, including the kale caesar and goat cheese salad. You have to try the hempenadas!!! They are amazing!!! Also, they make a mean buffalo burger. I usually don’t even like sweet potato fries, but this place made me change my mind.

I love Ruggles Green. I’d eat here every single day if it were closer… Oh wait, it WAS closer to me when the Kirby/W. Alabama location was open. Sigh… But I digress. This is a solid place to get a meal after a workout or pick up take-out after work. I’ve had almost everything here, and even though I wouldn’t give every single food item a full 5 stars, it all averages out to around 4.5 for me. And since I like to look at the glass half full, I’ll round up to 5! I personally love the kale caesar, goat cheese salad, and blackened shrimp salad. The tacos are tasty, especially the shrimp and fish(they don’t use tilapia — yay!). The corn chowder and French onion are bad-ass! The hempenadas, turkey and veggie wraps are regular items I cycle into my diet as well. All the burgers are good — turkey, veggie nut, buffalo… Yum! Oh and those sweet potato fries… Ermahgerd! They have several teas to choose from, including caffeine-free. The domino cake is the best dessert IMO, and I usually gravitate toward chocolate desserts last, so that’s saying something! The honey-fried goat cheese arugula salad(arugula overload) and Oh Kale Yeah!(So much kale, so little time… to chew) are remarkably disappointing to me. The quinoa mac & cheese is extremely forgettable. The cashiers are friendly and the bathrooms are super clean, with Dyson hand dryers. All in all, definitely a staple that’s here to stay!

I really like their food. It is tasty and made from good quality ingredients. Service is fast too. Its original parking was very, very small but they added an additional parking spot on 11th which is very convenient. However, it has the same problem as all Ruggles Greens I have checked: it is too loud. I do not know if it is the design of their places or what but, unless you go to an hour where there is not much people, it is way too loud and uncomfortable.

The parking lot is pretty small and bigger cars seemed to have a lot of difficulty getting in and out of the spots so beware. We ordered and appetizer and three meals. The appetizer came first, the the child plate at almost the same time. My food came about five minutes later and my sister’s was about 10 min. after that. I would have like for it to have come together. I got shrimp tacos which were soggy and the corn tortilla just crumbled. My sister got fish tacos which were the same. The presentation was nice but honestly the tacos look better than they taste. It’s just a wet mess. I will just stick with what I usually get next time, the veggie burger or veggie tacos.

This was my first trip to Ruggles Green but definitely not my last. I really wasn’t a fan of having to look over the menu as I walked in before we came to the register but no big deal. I asked the cashier for a recommendation and he said«you will definitely like the bread pudding» but I was wanted to start an entrée and he suggested a few things. I started with the shrimp tacos and the bread pudding for dessert. The Shrimp tacos come with for corn tortillas and the sauce that it comes with is a perfect addition. If there were two more corn tortillas it would easily make a six taco meal. When I was done with tacos the bread pudding came in the presentation was extra nice but the flavor was life-changing. If it had not come with more than one spoon I wouldn’t have shared with my lunch companion, I would have been a glutton and scarfed it down by myself. The meal came to just over $ 21 and was well worth it.

Came here at 11:00 on a Friday afternoon and was able to find a table. Got the turkey meatball panini which was well seasoned and toasted to perfection! Only downside were the slightly soggy fries. Parking can be tricky — small parking lot in rear along Studemont but I asked the cashier and he said patrons are able to park at church lot next door except Sunday mornings.

Consistent with other ruggles restaurants. Good food, fast service, and a nice interior. Parking lot In the back happened to have a couple of spots for us. We were both happy with the chicken pasta and shrimp tacos. If you haven’t been to a Ruggles, give it a try. This location is as good as any. Good café food.

Finally got to try this place! This place is well laid out with an outdoor seating option and decent sized parking lot. What an ambience! Simply loved it! I went with a couple of friends for brunch on a Saturday noon. The place was crowded, however, we did not have to wait long to place an order and get a table. I ordered the veggie nut burger and iced mocha. I usually don’t like iced coffee, but the weather was too hot for me to get otherwise. Service and staff were super friendly. I liked my burger, specially the sauce that came with it. The sweet potato fries were good as well. Tres Leches was topped with a generous dollop of fresh cream and decorated with berry & mango sauces. The dessert came with vanilla ice cream on the side. Isn’t that a double treat? This is why Ruggles is famous for desserts! I’m definitely coming back. The prices are very reasonable. Would recommend!

A friend recommended we come here for dinner. She wanted something light and said that this place had great salads while I of course was starving so I planned to order some pasta after reading there menu online. Luckily we got there right in time to snag the last parking spot behind the restaurant. I ordered the grilled salmon pasta and a glass of red wine. I have to say my food wasn’t anything spectacular. Salmon was a little bland and the pasta dish itself was a little underwhelming. I’m not huge on sweets but we decided to share the white chocolate bread pudding and again I didn’t think it was anything I’d come back for. I’m willing to give this place another try though because of all the other great reviews I’ve read on different dishes and the fact that they do have such a large menu.

Healthy yet delicious food at a reasonable cost with a solid venue — you can’t ask for much more than that! Ruggles is the best, and now that I’ve finally been I’m so disappointed the one in the Village was closed down. The inside of this location is cute and comfortable but not anything special, so we sat outside. The patio seating was really lovely; pretty basic setup but once it got a little dark outside they turned some lights and candles on and it was really nice. I ordered the veggie nut burger and honestly I think it was the best veggie burger I’ve ever had. I asked the hostess for her recommendation on which cheese and bun to get and she was really friendly. She told me to try the mozzarella cheese, which I don’t think I would have ordered on my own, and it was the best decision ever. I got the quinoa salad as my side, and it was equally as incredible. I was stuffed after my meal, but we split the chocolate crème brulee cheesecake and even though I was super full, I couldn’t resist eating several bites because it was so so good. It was the perfect blend of chocolate, cheesecake and caramel flavor, it just melts in your mouth. They drizzled some sort of sauce around the plate that just made it even better. I can’t wait to go back to Ruggles — I want to try the quinoa mac and cheese(saw someone at another table eating it and it looked delicious) but I don’t know if I’ll be able to resist ordering that veggie burger again!

Many have told me to visit Ruggles Green and after a year of saying, «it’s on my list» I actually made it. Best of luck to you if you want to park in the R.G. parking lot, I squeezed in next to a dumpster and an SUV. There may be 8 – 10 spots in total in the lot and one is for an electric car that needs to be plugged in. I ordered the Blackened Shrimp and my friend got the Honey Fried, Goat Cheese Arugula Salad. Both delicious and refreshing and just what we needed after a weekend of eating poorly due to an extended Birthday celebration. Thank you Ruggles Green for picking us back up and onto our feet to get our nutrition squared away. We were both skeptical about the cost of the salads thinking that we were paying more than what would arrive on our plate and we were WRONG. That plate was loaded sky-high with delicious veggies. Totally worth the money!

Oh how I love you, Ruggles. My first visit to one of their locations was the one on West Alabama, but since it’s temporarily closed and I was only in Houston for a few days, I was in desperate need to get my fix. My friend and I came to this location and it was just as excellent, and not busy at all! I got my usual Ruggles Green salad with blackened tofu and my oh my is it ever good. Though pricey, that will never stop me from coming here. The honey-fried goat cheese is to die for and the quality makes it worth every penny. I also suggest trying their iced teas. Yum!

Your average Ruggles Green. I had the salmon salad for lunch, they subbed the boiled egg out and gave me some avocado upon request. The location itself is fairly new, and looks great inside. They have lots of outdoor seating as well. Parking can be tricky, but they have 3 separate parking areas, so if all those fail, street parking is nearby as well. +1 star for having clean bright bathrooms!

Casual trendy neighborhood café with plentiful GF and alternative eating choices. I tried the spicy chicken tacos complete with bell peppers, que so fresco, and sriracha peach sauce. A piquant twist on a classic chicken taco. Delish! The corn tortillas got soggy and mealy after eating the first one, so I suggest eating the contents with a spoon after 5 minutes or so. I also tried the GF carrot cake to satisfy my often neglected sweet tooth. AMAZING! The cake didn’t have any odd textures or aftertaste, which is rare for GF confections unfortunately. The frosting was rich but not overly so. Dense, moist cake with just the right crunch from the nuts. GF or not, you’re gotta try it! The décor is comfortable and somewhat modern, and is pretty unique. Dark wood with green color pops.

I finally arrived in Houston and I was just craving some vegetables. I had only a butter croissant, an apple, and almonds for the day and it was already 7pm in Houston. So my gal pal takes me to Ruggles as it’s also close by to Trader Joe’s for some much needed groceries for the week stay. The parking situation is like how folks drive here… a mess.(Sorry to you Houston folks but I’m afraid for my life on the roads.) There’s probably a good 7 tight diagonal spots and you need to back out of the spots to get out. The interior is a bit rustic chic. You order at the counter and take a numer with you to your table. There were way too many things on the menu that pulled at me, but I decided on the Kale Yeah! Lots of chopped kale with pumpkin seads, dried mango, fresh strawberries, red onions, and carrots. I unfortunately forgot to put the dressing on the side and well it was over dressed for my taste but the salad was delicious and felt really fresh. The salad dressing was way too salty and thus kind of killed the rest of the freshness of the salad. I also topped the salad with some grilled tofu which hit the spot. Overall a great place for some healthy and gluten free items. They had friendly service. I’d definitely be back but next time dressing on the side!

Five stars for ample parking, friendly and attentive service, Maine root, indoor and outdoor seating, deliciously crafted menu items, and *drumroll* White Chocolate Bread Pudding which I cannot and WILLNOT live without. I come here alone, on dates with my hubby, business lunches, mom hangouts etc. The perfect venue for a variety of meal gatherings! I love you Ruggles Green.

Really great food in a cool place! I love the vibe of this Ruggles Green. I’ve been to another one, which was also cool, but this just felt great. The cashiers were all super nice as were the people who run your food to you. My friends had a chicken sandwich that looked amazing and they loved it. I had a pizza which was delicious. Prices were reasonable and everyone there seemed to be having a good time.
