Nice location, lots of space to study. Staff okay neither good nor bad. The short Filipino guy is really accommodating maybe not the sharpest but definitely has a good heart. Barista at the bar that made my drink did leave sticky WM on the cup. Didn’t cue the shots on top of the syrup. Instead let the syrup drop to the bottom after the shots had been poured. Not the best drink but as a former Bux barista I admit I am picky.

I stopped by after work for the Frappuccino Happy Hour. I got a little nervous when I ordered the new Birthday Cake Frapp and the barista did not know how to make it. However, the manager did based on the recipe, and I was quite pleased with how it turned out! I guess I was the first customer to order it on their shift. No wait and friendly attitude. I give them 4 stars because the SBUX employee told me he just started his shift and wasn’t sure what was going on today. He also did not warm up my pastry. Overall it was a good experience. Quiet place to relax or get some work done.

I prefer this Starbucks over the Starbucks across the street and the other Starbucks in the bookstore across the parking lot. It just seems more of a Starbucks to me because parking is a little better(although I’m not sure if you can park on the other side and walk here or not) and there is more seating. It does get a bit cold inside however but I guess it’s better than being hot while drinking a hot beverage. They also stay open later than many other Starbuckses in the area.

I’m usually not very picky with my service in general– I’m easy to please. However, there have been MULTIPLE times that I have ordered a drink with soy milk and regular milk was used instead. Having a dairy allergy makes this beyond frustrating– especially since I only use the drive through at this location! It’s on my way to work– so I do not have time to turn around and get a new coffee– and we all know Starbucks isn’t cheap! So there goes $ 7 down the drain– not happy… Your staff needs to pay more attention to their orders– I understand that you need to move the drive through line quickly– but you can be dealing with food allergies here people! come on!

This was my first visit to this location and I found it to be a pretty unique store in regards to the layout. The staff was very friendly and the place looked well maintained they were wet mopping while I was there and the place looked pretty good. The exterior was decorated with Christmas lights as were a lot of the neighboring businesses. The drive through looks a little challenging and the parking is limited fortunately as I pulled in there was a car leaving a few cars behind me weren’t so lucky. Like most parts of Houston the traffic can present issues getting in or out of a lot of the area businesses it’s not so bad if you already have your drink in hand…

Great Starbucks, lots of seating — one of the best ones in Houston to work at solo or with a group of colleagues. The service is always cheery, and the store itself is always neat and tidy — one of the cleanest dining rooms in Houston as far as Starbucks goes. The drive thru and parking can be a bit tricky to maneuver, but worth the visit. Cheers!

If I could give zero stars to this location I would. As a regular at Starbucks I can say my experience here is not a good representation of how the company works. I walked in on a Saturday, and only three people were working. Of the three, only one was competent. It took me FIFTEEN minutes to get my drink… And when I received it, it was not the drink I ordered. She rudely told me that that was my drink and I had ordered it. I did not argue because I was not going to wait an additional 15 minutes. I will add that there was a woman in front of me who said she had been waiting for 18 minutes. I understand that you are evaluated based on how long people wait in the drive thru, but customers who take the initiative to come in to place their orders don’t deserve to wait for nearly 20 minutes. I hope the manager reads this and hires some people who aren’t afraid to move a little faster. Some of the employees need not only an attitude adjustment, but need to be re-educated on the values of Starbucks/customer service.

The drive-thru went really fast and the cashier was very friendly. I ordered an acai berry and I like that it wasn’t too sweet or too syrup-y and it didn’t have that nasty after taste. It was pretty good. I definitely would stop by here if I’m craving for a starbucks and I was in the area. The big downfall is the location. The area is under construction and it’s really hard to turn in and to get out. The traffic in that area is crazy! I would definitely avoid this area until construction is done or go during slow hours. I don’t want to wait in traffic too long.

What in God’s name is happening at this place? This used to be something of a flagship Starbuck’s in Houston — a prominent location at the very front door to River Oaks. But my last 4 visits have been absolute disasters. My most recent visit started with being informed that they were out of virtually everything. Another time the barista had not heard of their smoothies and had no idea they were on the menu. When they figured out that they served smoothies, they informed me that they were out of bananas — a pretty key ingredient in their smoothies. Another time the drive thru was inexplicably closed. Another time service was so slow and disjointed that the customer beside me just turned and laughed as neither of us could believe the ridiculous hijinks behind the counter. I am not sure what’s going on at this place but it’s clearly having some issues right about now.

Why is this place always filthy?! I’ve been coming here for awhile thinking things would improve, but it’s pretty much all bad all the time. I’ve seen bugs in the food display, crawling and flying around the food that’s sitting out. When I pointed it out to one of the baristas he just laughed and said, «Oh yeah, I guess the bugs are attracted to the sugar.» WTF?! There’s always sticky dried coffee stains all over the floor, and there’s crumbs and dirt built up in the corners. GROSS. One of the armchairs stinks, presumably because(I’ve witnessed this) a horribly malodorous homeless man comes in every now and then and plops down on the chair and settles in. I’m a pretty compassionate person but this guy smells so awful that I’ve had to grab my stuff and run out of the coffee shop because I couldn’t stand being inside. Almost every time I order, something goes wrong. They mess up the order; the baristas argue over who should take the order(«I just clocked out, can you take this?» «Me? But I’m on my lunch break!»); they take my order but forget to actually start making the order. They really need to get their sh*t together at this particular location.

This Starbucks is nice because it’s got plenty of seating and although there are literally 3 Starbucks’s within 500 yards of each other I really like this one the most because it has a drive thru which makes it easy for me to get my peach green tea lemonade in the mornings on my way to work!

Thoroughly impressed with how fast and customer-friendly this Starbucks location is. Although there was a long line for the drive-thru, the wait was relatively short and my order came out perfectly.

I went to this Starbucks thinking it would be a nice little adventure and to see the River Oaks area… The gentleman that took my order was not courteous. He acted as though he did not want to answer my questions and then had the nerve to pick up his cellphone while I’m asking him a question. When he did answer my question it was very short like he did not feel like being of service or pleasant.

I went to this Starbucks last Friday night because the one across the street was closed(apparently it closes an hour earlier than this one). The one across the street is usually more convenient and I just think it looks prettier from the outside. It was very crowded for 11 pm on a Friday night; it took a while to find a seat for my party of 3. It also took a while to get a barista to actually take our order. I think they were busy with the drive thru. Ever since Starbucks started serving that particular brand of baked goods(I forget what it’s called), their display case sometimes looks tacky. Everything is in a plastic wrapper… I’m sorry, but that doesn’t look appetizing. Let’s at least pretend this isn’t a pre-packaged, mass produced, food object. Unwrapped items at least let us tricj ourselves into thinking they’re fresh-baked. Guh, Starbucks. Nonetheless, my brownie was delicious. Would I go to this Starbucks again? Sure. Do I care if I never go to this Starbucks again? Nah.

I frequent this Starbucks drive-thru all the time, and I love it because they get my order right every time and if I order a hot drink with cream, it is scalding hot when they give it to me, instead of luke warm like at some other places. Love that!

I go to Starbucks for environment. The coffee is just a plus. I’m always amazed at how big and open this place is, but I never feel comfortable in this space. The layout is odd and I feel like they could fit more people in the space if it was laid out differently. I do appreciate that this location is open much later than the one across the street.

This Starbucks was a welcome relief. It satisfied my must-have caffeine craving and provided my tummy with a little sustenance to keep it from growling at me. After being told by the wannabe hipster employee in the be all-end all of hipster Barnes and Nobles located next door that their B&N doesn’t take Starbucks cards, I trekked across the parking lot to this Starbucks location. What I found inside were friendly and efficient employees who were happy to serve me up a delicious slice of pumpkin loaf and make a perfect Caffe Latte. This place is one of the busier Starbucks and you’ll need to know what you want when it comes your time to order. There are tables located indoors and out and on nice days these seats fill up quickly. Several people were studying and/or busy on their laptops both inside and out. Despite the busy flow of customers through this Starbucks, the noise level inside was low. This location seems to offer some different coffee in bags and K-Cups that I’ve not seen at other Houston area Starbucks. I’ll definitely come back here to check them all out. This Starbucks does have a drive-thru which isn’t a bad idea for the area since parking for any place around here is little to nonexistent. I made the right choice in coming over to this place to get my coffee fix. I’ll now make this a regular stop when I’m in the area.

Like Farrah, I, too, was confused as to which Starbucks on Gray Street this was! So I had to Googlemap it, and learned it was the one in River Oaks Shopping Center on the corner of Gray and Shepard(next to B&N). I like this Starbucks because it has plenty of seating and friendly baristas. The only downside is the parking lot. It’s awfully small and it’s very easy to «accidentally» go the wrong way on any of the surrounding parking lots or streets! Let’s just say, this Starbucks rewarded me with not only a lovely beverage but also with a lesson about Houston roads(entry ways to parking lots). So, thank you for the edification, Starbucks. Thank you.
