I went in and had the signature beet and it was very odd bc the staff seemed a bit antisocial and they weren’t welcoming. It seemed as though they didn’t really want to be there… Or at least the lady in the counter did. The smoothie itself was odd… I was expecting it to be refreshing and cold… It was a bit better than lukewarm which was weird and even though you can add dates and a few spices for free, the experience itself is not worth it. I prefer the smoothies at BIG Power Yoga instead!

Updating my previous review… the staff has changed; I no longer see the owner in here or the old staff, which actually knew the drinks very well and helped you out. The newbie staff in here is kind of anti-social and less than helpful when you have a question about any of the drinks. In fact, I think they are kind of confused about everything themselves. The drinks and bowls are still great, so it gets high marks from me, but loses a star because the staff frankly couldn’t be less helpful or friendly.

Found this gem on Unilocal, stumbling across a few juice bars and smoothie places, I’ve decided to give it a shot. My first encounter here was a few days ago with Eddie and another female friend, service was great, and they had samples laying out, I had heard a lot about the thin Elvis already but I was still open to options. One of their samples just happened to be a thin Elvis, had a sip of it and I was already hooked! It was crazy refreshing and crisp! My second encounter was with Brandon and his male friend, another great service! And my third encounter which was today with Eddie and Brandon, another great service, I figured they’ve seen quite a bit of me they offered to sign me up for a loyalty program I said sure why not! This is my third time here and I’m on my 5th drink! I’d highly recommend this place, first mainly cause they have really great service here, second I’ve had at least 4 different kinds of samples and they all tastes great! Third they have organic soup freshly made and small snacks being sold, and next time I come in definitely buying a tee shirt! I usually go to Juice in the Sky, and almost all of their employees over there know me, since I’m no longer working in the heights I’ve found my everyday go to place here! Their green-ya colada is very refreshing. But if you’re in for a minty blast, they have one with greens mint and cucumber, I forgot the name of it, but it was also good! Give it a try!

The smoothie recipe to end all smoothie recipes: Kale, bananas, dates, sea salt, almond butter and almond milk. Also known as «the kale shake». The Beet Box has a saltier price tag than most juice/smoothie bars I’ve visited, but their creative flavor combos and clean and crisp vibe will help distract you from the hole in your wallet. Plus, I love beets. So, there’s that. They offer three sizes – baby(great for kids), 16 oz and 20 oz. In addition to $ 7-$ 8 smoothies, The Beet Box sells granola, vegan sweet treats, soup and hot tea.

I tried the Kale Shake and while I enjoyed it, it could have been left to blend just a few seconds longer. In not a fan of chunky smoothies. Overall I enjoyed the taste and the service was good. I’ll definitely be back to try other flavors.

I’ve been meaning to write about this place for a long time(since it opened), but sadly, I was all the way on the East Coast and couldn’t get here fast enough. Finally, I had a moment of time in Houston to actually stop by Beet Box and try one of their juice drinks. 67 reviews with an average of 4.5 stars don’t lie, folks. This place is legit. I can’t recite from memory everything I tried in the Green with Envy, but let’s just say that they know how to blend a little bit of extra almond into it if you ask(mine had a nice, slightly thick texture from the avocado and almond, and has a great refreshing finish from the coconut milk). I believe they had grapes, kale, spinach and a couple of other healthy ingredients in there, but I say customize and have fun. Everyone who works here is really nice, and they allowed me to sample three different drinks before I made a choice. When it turned out that I had already paid for my drink and they couldn’t make the one I originally ordered, the transition from that drink to another one was seamless. In other words, what could have been an otherwise frustrating customer experience was fully neutralized by the staff. The names of the drinks are pretty creative, the music is well curated without being too dopey or overpowering, and the purple and green décor is tastefully understated. All of that is great, but really, the only thing that should matter is that the juice drinks are fantastic and far better than what I’ve had at other juice bars throughout the country(check my Unilocal travel log — that’s saying something). Thanks city of Houston for having this awesome juice bar and thanks people of Beet Box Blend Bar for your store being so awesome!

This was my first time trying out the Beet Box Bar. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the staff and asked«if I knew what I was going to be ordering.» Of course, this being my first time here, I had no clue about what I wanted. The staff encouraged me to try the green samples they had available for the day. I tried both and the first one was really bland and the second one didn’t have enough ginger for my liking so I passed on both of those. The lady and the guys there asked me different questions to help gear me in the right direction. A few answers later, I ended up with the«Berry Delicious«. I was EXTREMELY hesitant to try this because I have NEVER had veggies before(except for when I was a baby, obviously) so I was scared of what this drink would taste like since it contained spinach. OHMYLORDIE! Was I blown away! This drink was sooooo delicious! I could not taste ANY veggies in it! LOVE, LOVE, LOVEDIT! This place is really good. If it was closer to Cypress, I would go more frequently but since it’s in the heart of River Oaks, I’d probably come twice a month. The only reason I didn’t give this place 5⁄5 stars, is because they didn’t mention to me about a point card. I saw a lady as I was leaving getting«points» for coming there and I kinda felt left out of the club. =| but overall, I enjoyed my drink and the staff. That minor«not-telling-me-about-the-point-card» won’t stop me from visiting again. :)

I’ve been on a juice/smoothie craving thing and have driven by this place a few times. The space is very bright and cheerful with plenty of seating. The two people working were super friendly and helpful. They have a pretty large menu. They helped me decide on what to get and offered me a few free samples. I had the orange is the new green and got my friend a berry delicious. This isn’t like a traditional juicer. Their items are thicker in consistency, which I prefer!

Was driving around looking for an in between breakfast-lunch filler, stumbled upon Beet Box in this little strip center Really cute inside, very nice staff. They helped us choose between our indecisiveness. I got the rise n shine, which was the perfect amount of sweetness with the ginger that I really needed to clear my immune system My roomie got the pineapple ginger greeny and she said it was delish. I’m so excited to have found this quaint little juice bar near my house. Definitely trying an acai bowl when I come next time!

Overall very happy I found this place! The only downside is it’s a little pricey. From $ 7-$ 10 a cup work tax. However, it is made with real fruit and veggies so no complaints. Personal favorites are orange is the new green, signature green, sweet beets, and the crispier. I tried greenya colada and personally didn’t like the taste of protein. But it did taste good for a smoothie. I did not like carrot cake though. But that’s because I was drinking«carrot cake» which I personally did not like. Service is very friendly here! The staff is very knowledgeable with the drinks. If you aren’t sure what you want to get, they explain what each drink will taste like and help you pick. They also have samples to try(smoothies and sometimes food). Definitely come here when in the area.

I’m a huge fan of juices and smoothies even though I know they’ll put a dent in my wallet… Typically I’ll hit up a Whole Foods to get them since they’re «decently»(using that term broadly) priced, but the Montrose Whole Foods doesn’t have a juice bar, so I found this place to fill the void. The interior is adorable, but that is pretty much expected of juice bars these days since they’re trending. Pricing is upwards of $ 9(yikes), but I typically go for something on the Veggies or Fruitful menu($ 7). I’ve tried The Crisper, Signature Green, Berry Delicious, and an Acai Bowl, and have enjoyed them all(esp the Berry Delicious and Acai Bowl). Everything tasted fresh and was blended nicely. Can’t wait to try more!

This place is cool, it has juices and smoothies which can satisfy both the health nut and the sweet tooth. A bit pricey, but what«juice» place isn’t right? Still, this definitely isn’t a place to hit up all the time, just as a treat. They do have«mini» cups to satisfy the taste. Had the cacao-wie wowie and thought it was dope. The cacao nibs and almond milk made a perfect match to offset bitter and create light sweet.

I started a new health conscious diet about 2 years ago and found this place when I was out for lunch one day. It was excellent! My favorite so far is a seasonal blend they do in the fall that is pumpkin spice/pie. The owner Denise is there a lot and keeps great quality control. Only bad thing is that this is the only location(that I am aware of). I recommend this place to anyone wanting to avoid Smoothy King(the McDonald’s of blends) and searching for something new and healthy!

Being a huge fan of juice/smoothies, I can appreciate a good smoothie place when I see one. Love all the different concoctions they have come up with with varying juice and smoothie options. They also have mini mini sizes of some smoothies that you can buy for $ 4 as opposed to $ 9. In terms of price, I would see this as a treat yourself sort of situation. #kaleshake, green ya colada, and signature beet are all great ones i’ve had in the past. Green with envy might be my favorite though because it covers all the range of sweetness, healthiness, and deliciousness that I want. green ya colada is the most tropical and sweetest of all The smoothie-tenders? are very friendly — they love to talk to you about their menu and help you find what you like if you want something sweeter, tangier, healthier, etc etc. They almost always also have samples sitting out by their counter for you to try as you’re deciding what to order. They have adorable decorations that bring a lot of life and energy to the space with turf on the walls and flowers here and there on the tables. The variety of bar tables vs square tables vs round tables make its a nice place to meet a friend or even come to study. Most customers just come in and out so it’s not too busy and can be a great place for studying — they have free wifi too! I would say that the price is a bit steep, but the lack of smoothie trends in Houston makes it understandable as well.

It was our first time there. The inside is cute. There were so many choices to choose but we ended up with beet box way with banana, coconut flakes and honey on top. It’s pretty expensive for the size but it was so delicious! Will come again.

I was searching for a Jamba Juice in this area so I could get some liquid lunch before my hair appointment when I noticed that it no longer existed in this area and that I would have to drive to 59 to get a smoothie. I decided I would give this place a try. The servers are very friendly and they have little cups of a few different concoctions out for potential customers to try. I decided one which seemed to be inspired by all things Hawaiian — so like a piña colada, but with some greens in it. Unfortunately I found the drink to be heavy on the green and light on other flavors. I could kind of taste some pineapple, but not as much as I would like. They do say you can add or substitute anything you want. So will I do that next time? I really am not sure of there being a next time. It is not just the flavor, but their small size(not to be confused with the kids size) after tax is almost $ 10. That’s kind of expensive for a drink that just tasted like spinach and didn’t keep me full as long as their competitor’s drinks do. It is nice that it is healthy, but I’ll just get some rotisserie chicken from their neighbor next time.

I came here for a quick snack when I wasn’t feeling too hot one afternoon. The Beet Box crew whipped me up something tasty and fabulous in a jiffy. My favorite thing about this place is that you are getting fresh whole fruits and veggies with no added sugar. The staff is really friendly and the establishment itself is clean and adorable. I don’t live in this area, but when I return I will make a point to stop here for a drink!

I adore Beet Box Blend Bar, I am a frequent but not quite regular visitor. They segregate their menu into the Veggie, Fruity, what they call«out of the box» and«all in» blends. It’s worth your time to enjoy a sample to the left of the register, they use the remaining smoothie from previous orders and put them in little pill-sized cups to allow visitors to experiment from. The staff is patient and helpful and will help you talk through your likes/dislikes to select the best smoothie for your order. You can also pick up healthy snacks to supplement your smoothie experience, but as a media sized woman a smoothie is all I need to be full. I could go on and on about which drinks I like the most, but we could be here for awhile. A visit for a healthy breakfast or a mid-day pick me up on the weekends are my preferred times to stop in. They open M-F at 7:30am and that’s a little too late for me, I’m already off to work by that hour. If they opened around 6am I’d be here wayyyyy more often!

Perfect place to reward yourself with a healthy smoothie after a good jog at Memorial Park(which is only about 10 minute drive away!). I ordered the Signature Green drink which consists of Kale, Spinach, Carrot, Pineapple, Banana, Parsley, Lemon Juice, and Water — all basic ingredients for a typical green drink which yields a daily suggested serving of 3 vegetables and 1.5 fruit per cup! Nice! What’s even better is that the drinks aren’t juiced but blended so you keep all the precious fiber your body needs.(Insoluble fibers helps you poo! Among many other benefits…) Keep in mind though, this drink is not for everyone because of the prominent earthy veggie flavors(from the kale and parsley), however I really enjoyed it! It’s a whole lot tastier than what I make at home with my cheap Oster blender. Veggie and Fruit smoothies will run $ 7 a drink. Add a shot of wheat grass for $ 3.5 and they will cut a fresh hand full of it and add it to your drink. The cashier was very nice and took her time to explain the menu to me. She gave me some suggestions of the popular drinks and helped direct me to the right one. Next time I’ll have to give the Signature Beet drink a try. Maybe it’ll beet my first choice! Har Har!

Let me preface this review by saying I am highly based bc I love juice bars. This place is no exception. Btw smoothie king is in NO way a juice bar. Fresh ingredients. Made fresh to order. They have blended suggestions however they are completely customizable. I love their add ins which include flax seed, nuts and avocado among others. Each juice comes with a veggie to fruit ratio listed for you. Which is very helpful for picking«healthier» juices, since there is no caloric count. Really good price for the amount of juice you are getting. Comparable to whole foods juice bar. They also have healthy snacks ready to go like tabbouleh salad. May only gripe is about the management. I guess they have not figured out their business hours? It says 800 pm online. However they have decided to change closing to 730? I showed at 740 and they offered to make my friend and I a juice«even though they are closed» but 3 other people showed up while we were waiting and were turned away. This seemed rather odd to me. I would NEVER come back if I was them. I really want this place to succeed it’s right across from the gym and I see myself visiting frequently… we’ll see.
