Wow I went here with a friend on 02/01/2016 and they have this wicked deal on their lunch menu. $ 5.99 for ANY lunch item(curry is on the list too) that you order with either chicken or shrimp. VALID only on MONDAYS!!! I’m not sure how long this promotion will continue so you might want to call first and ask. Pad Thai(10⁄10) — I think this might be my new favorite Thai restaurant!!! The noodles were not soggy and flavored just right! Not overly drenched in sweetness either. To my surprise, the dish came with a decent amount of shrimp(probably 6 – 8 of them). It comes in three level of spiciness: mild, medium, and spicy. I went for mild and it was not hot at all! Love it!!! Side note: This dish does contain peanut so if you’re allergic to it then please skip it! Pad see ew(8⁄10): My friend was impressed that they use actual Chinese broccoli and not the American ones. The noodles were not oily and the seasoning was perfect! Get mild level of spiciness and sprinkle some pepper flakes so you can control the hotness. You can’t go wrong with those two dishes. Plus they give complimentary vegetable egg roll, a side salad with peanut dressing, and a small bowl of house soup(it tastes great too). Get there around 11:00 — 11:30 to avoid the crazy lunch crowd.

We came super early on today(sunday) and was their first customer so they greeted and seated us quickly. The interior of the restaurant is very nice spacious and clean. We ordered the papaya salad as starters and asked for the highest level of spiciness. Turned out to be pretty mild. We ordered their chicken jungle curry and drunken noodles. Both spicy. And both turned out very mild. The curry did not seem like a curry dish at all. Very little curry and a lot of veggies and chicken. I can not say that I was able to pay $ 12 for ¼ of cup of curry. The drunken noodles was at least decent. The portion size for each plate were median. Overall nothing too special I’ve noticed over other Thai restaurant I’ve been to. We thought with the high rating and above average reviews it would somewhat delicious. We were unfortunately proven wrong. But I do give thumbs up to our waiter. He made sure we never went thirsty. Filled out glasses 4x!

Been here twice this week already. I’ve been getting the food to go, it’s delicious and I actually crave it. It’s quick, friendly on the phone, and good food.

The ratings for this restaurant are much too high so I’m writing this review to even things out a bit. Thai Gourmet around the corner is much better. We ordered a green curry, a tilapia dish, and a mixed vegetable stir fry. None of the vegetables in any of the dishes were fresh and the colors/tastes didn’t have that pop you expect in fresh Thai food. The prices at this restaurant are too high for the quality of the food. The waitstaff is nice but not enough to make up for the food.

Monday chicken and shrimp deals — $ 5.99 lunch specials! I get the green curry! So delicious and legitimately spicy! Just a note — it’s for dine-in only. Take out is regular price at $ 9.99 for chicken dishes and $ 10.99 for shrimp. I’m not sure why since they’d have less dishes to wash, but it is what it is. I guess it’s to limit the number of dishes served at that price.

Service was super friendly. Atmosphere was good, and a good spot for a first date. Restaurant was clean. Food was okay, nothing to write home about. Maybe I have to keep trying diffrent things on the menu. I would give between 3.5 to 4 stars for this one. ^__^ *** I tried everything in my pictures.***

Plenty of parking… and plenty of tables. I was excited to try this place due to the high ratings, but was the total opposite of what I had expected. We came here on a Thursday night and there were barely any customers the entire night. Literally, one of those restaurants where you see one or two tables of customers the whole night and wonder how they survive to keep up a big restaurant. Passing through the front entrance, we got greeted by a smell of gas and at that point was already a bit turned off. We went ahead and tried it, us being the only table at almost 7 pm. I started off with a thai tea and it was immediately apparent that it was not fresh, leaving a bad rough residue on the tongue(luckily, it was free thanks to the Unilocal check-in). As we were waiting on our friend, I shared the cheese rolls. There was barely any cheese in it and was like fake cheese, wouldn’t order again(it’s $ 5.25 for 4 small rolls). I ordered the pad see eaw since it had looked pretty good from other Unilocalers. However, I noticed mine didn’t even look the same as their pictures! Unfortunately, it was so bad I couldn’t even eat ¼ of it. It was just«edible.» My other friends dish was also so bland they had to ask for chili. I’m not sure what had happened on this first visit, but if I ever decide to give them another try I’d try something else. At this point, I wouldn’t recommend nor go back anytime soon. There’s way better thai places close to that proximity and offer way fresher food and drinks. This may be due to the fact that others have a higher turnaround to provide fresher food and this place is so empty it can’t.

I came in for dinner on Thursday evening, and there were not a lot of customers. There was only one waiter, and he provided ok service. My only complaint is that I didn’t get a straw for a while after getting my thai tea. I got the Tom Yum Goong with shrimp in spicy and sour soup — medium spicy, and I find that it was very spicy. I did enjoy it. There was a good amount of shrimp and mushrooms, and I quite like how it was flavourful and of course, spicy. I would say it’s one of the better tom yum goong I had tasted in a while. For the entrée, I had the Pad Kee Mao which is the stir-fried flat noodles with eggs, green beans, basil, chilies, and white onions with chicken — medium spice, and it was delicious! I really enjoy this dish. The flat noodles were stir-fried nicely(some places serve hard flat noodles) and the chicken and eggs were perfectly seasoned and cooked properly. I enjoyed every bite! It was a good presentation, and I hope to eat this again! For beverage, I had the thai tea, and I find that it was ok. I couldn’t really taste the thai tea flavor. I did a check in on Unilocal, and the waiter was nice enough to accept the free beverage deal with the thai tea which is pretty awesome! Overall, it was a good meal for me, and I will come back!

Stopped by on the way home after a busy night and shared the crispy spring rolls, Thai wings, and pad Thai with my wife. Food was great as usual, wings crispy, sweet, and spicy, and noodles packed with flavor as well :)

After eating virtually every dish on the menu, it’s time for an upgrade from 4 stars to a solid 5-star rating for Sukhothai Bistro. The only miss(and I’m no expert on this dish) was the Pad See Eaw, which had an overwhelming garlic/salt flavor, and we really did not enjoy it, but maybe that’s the way this dish is supposed to taste. The Pad Thai, on the other hand, is by far the best we’ve ever eaten. We’ve eaten lunch and dinner in the restaurant, and we’ve brought it home to eat – always incredibly tasty. If you’re looking for very hot food, you won’t find it here unless you specify you want it that way. Most of their dishes are mild to moderately hot(for those that are labeled«hot»), but every dish we’ve eaten has been very well-prepared, flavorful, and very fresh. Some of our favorites include Spring Rolls, Yum Woon Sen(with squid instead of shrimp & chicken), Tiger Cried, Spicy Chicken with Basil, Taste of Ginger(we’ve tried it with shrimp & with chicken), Hot Eggplant with Tofu, and literally every one of their curry dishes(mostly with chicken). Other dishes we’ve eaten have been very good, as well, but these are our favorites. Portions are generous, parking is easy(especially at dinner), and prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is quiet enough at dinner to be able carry on a conversation, as tables are spaced well apart.

Grabbed lunch here with a coworker a few days and was satisfied(but not blown away) by my meal. First of, it’s a great value. We split our bill(for two lunch specials and one hot tea), and it came to $ 11 each. And the lunch special comes with salad, soup, and a dumpling. I tried the pad see ew with tofu and veggie and was satisfied with it. Nothing special, but a solid meal. It’s a good value, but an insane portion. Probably three meals when you add in the soup, salad, and dumpling. The restaurant is nice, very classy and clean(and NOT crowded at lunch time, although parking was not great). Overall, it was a great place for a lunch with coworkers.

Since thai gourmet had a line and we were super hungry, we Unilocaled the next thai spot close by. We were hesitant at first because there was nobody here. The restaurant is extra quiet. Way too quiet for my kids. We ordered Tom yum shrimp, shrimp pad Thai, chicken fried rice with thai tea and lychee tea. Everything was two thumbs up good. I would definitely eat here again!

Trying this place out with my mother. She’s vegetarian and very picky. You walk into a cute place, very new looking, lovely décor on the walls. We were seated next to the window and handed menus. Con — the menu was printed, front and back, on regular printer paper and completely wrinkled. I get that they’re a new place, however, they should have had professionally printed/bound menus before opening. Or at least laminated ones if they’re still trying to tweak it. We ordered loads of things, because we can :) Apps: soft spring rolls, friend spring rolls, Tom Kha soup, Papaya salad, Chicken satay(I’m a carnivore!) Mains: taste of ginger(with tofu and veggies,) red curry(with tofu and veggies,) pad see wee(with tofu and veggies,) and panang chicken and shrimp MAJOR Con — everything is listed with meat options only, you’ve got to specify if you want it vegetarian… They have a simple small vegetarian section listed, but again it’s simple and small, however, after confirming with the chef, they can make anything with tofu and veggies as long as you ask for it. Also, you have to specify that it be made without fish/oyster sauce to make sure it’s pure vegetarian. Taste: everything tasted lovely and flavourful. However, being Indian and in love with spice, we asked for everything to be extra hot/spicy. It was not. If you’re not into spice at all, you’ll be fine ordering«hot» and still be able to impress your date ;) otherwise, ask them to bring out those Thai chillies! Yum! Ask for them in soy sauce as the ones in the fish/oyster sauce leave a bit of an odd aftertaste. They should list veggies/tofu as an option on the menu where everyone can see it. The service was decent for only having one guy taking orders for the whole place. He was actually very sound of memory as he didn’t write anything down yet got everything right! Okay I’m done.

I’m so baller that I booked the entire restaurant for lunch on Sunday. Just kidding, it just seemed that way because there wasn’t a single other customer there. That maybe should’ve been a red flag, but a bad meal isn’t a lost cause. It produces a Unilocal review. Our party of three ordered the following: 2 chicken Panang curries, $ 2 up charge for brown rice 1 beef green curry 1 strand of hair Wait, what? Yea, I found a short black hair in my Panang curry wrapped around a piece of chicken. Are you grossed out? Good, let this be a warning to you. Thankfully, I hadn’t yet taken a bite, or else I might’ve hurled right then and there. I am a germaphobe, so this is basically my worst nightmare, except for that time a cockroach scampered across my lap at another restaurant. I waved for the server to come over. «I’m sorry, but I found a hair in my food.» I don’t know why I apologized for their offense. Women are conditioned to apologize for everything(see Inside Amy Schumer for a spot on parody), even when it’s entirely not our fault. As if any time we speak up, we’re an inconvenience to others. Sorry, I digress. Anyway, not even for a moment did I consider continuing to eat this. And I knew that they’d just bring back the same contaminated dish if I’d asked for a new one. So the only thing I could do, besides starve, was to ask for something totally new– chicken Pad Thai. They very quickly brought out my noodles(I mean… it’s not like the kitchen staff had anything else going on). The Pad Thai was flavorful, and the large portion size easily feeds 2. My friends still enjoyed their curries, and I’d say the Pad Thai is one of the best I’ve had, but I just can’t get over the hair in my food. SORRY.

Parking is not bad, it’s in a shopping plaza so we got front row parking! We started off with appetizers, crispy spring rolls, soft spring rolls, fried dumplings, but the cheese rolls were the best of them all. The sauces were really good. Then I had the traditional Pad Thai with beef and noodles and that was so flavorful! I could have added some spice but it was near perfect! The dessert of my choice was mango with sticky rice. Wow and Yum is all I have to say!!! Everyone was happy with their meals and the service was great. We left with smiles and leftovers for later! Nice portions! If u like Thai, this is THE place!!! Go today!

Ok ok. I read to go try this place and it was possibly better than Thai gourmet so here goes… Spring rolls — awesome! I never had them at Thai gourmet so I can’t compare Pad Thai with chicken — on par with Thai gourmet. Delicious and nice size portion Green curry with chicken– it was good here but I definitely think it’s better at Thai gourmet. I saw a picture of red curry so maybe I’ll have to try that instead. Or maybe they are known for their noodle dishes? Thai tea– on par with Thai gourmet Service– most likely better service at this place as opposed to Thai gourmet because Thai gourmet is always packed! We came here for dinner around 630 on a Friday and there were probably 5 tables taken. Overall, we will be back here if I’m not craving curry! I want to try the garlic chicken for sure and probably a noodle dish.

Our dinner club attempted to resume this week and planned for Thai in Uptown Park. Not knowing how tiny that place is and how many ppl we had grown to, we had to make a last minute adjustment and Unilocaler Long T chose this spot. Turned out to be a lucky break! It wasn’t busy and the space was maintained fairly well. It used to be some other Thai place but I hadn’t been there before either. There was only one person working the floor so once there were a few more tables service slowed a bit. Our server was very pleasant however, and did what he could. They don’t have a printed drink menu so the staff will tell you verbally what they have. Fortunately the list isn’t too long. We went family style as usual and got a bit of everything. App, soup, 2 kinds of noodles, rice, fish, and dessert. See pics for deets! Food was tasty, came out pretty quickly, and was decently priced. I’d say Thai Gourmet is still my go-to spot, but if I’m trying to avoid the crazy crowds there I will definitely come back to Sukhothai instead.

I went to Sukhothai Bistro for a late lunch on a Friday with a friend. We usually like to frequent Thai Gourmet nearby(which is my #1 favorite Thai restaurant in Houston), but we wanted to try this place out. Parking was easy, as it’s a private parking lot, and when we walked inside, we were impressed by the contemporary setting. We were able to sit where we wanted, and the service was on point. For lunch, they brought out a free plate which included a salad, egg roll, and a light soup. This was okay, nothing mindblasting. We ordered the green papaya salad(which was not on the menu) to start, as well as a medium-spicy shrimp pad-see-eaw dish. The papaya salad tasted pretty good; the unripened papaya had a nice crunchy texture I liked a lot. The pad-see-eaw’s stir-fried flat noodles were cut smaller than I am used to, but it was convenient since it was easier to eat. It was a bit oily, but that’s what you get for ordering Street Noodle! I still need to try the Pad Thai and the Tom-Yum-Goong soup to give an overall review, but I can say, try this place out! I wasn’t expecting much coming here, but this place has some pretty authentic food in a nice setting that won’t hurt your wallet. What to eat: –Green Papaya Salad(it’s a hidden menu item) –Mango Sticky Rice(for dessert if it’s in season) Pros: –Value –Atmosphere is nice, contemporary setting, very spacious –Private parking lot Cons: –They put a giant piece of paper over the table for easy cleanup, but this ruined the nice setting. They can try putting a piece of glass over the table cloth to complement the look of the restaurant.

Stop reading & just give this place a try already. I promise u will not b disappointed. Hands down one of the best thai restaurant in Houston! The food brings me back to when I visited Thailand!!! So decided to finally give this a try after the amazing reviews. At first I was skeptical but WOW were we surprised!!! Stray away from URTYPICALCHINESEDISHAND B ADVENTUROUS and try an ACTUALTHAIDISH. Came here on a weekday for dinner. The restaurant was pretty empty other than a party of 8 and 2 tables of 4. We were seated immediately. So we studied the menu thoroughly. Menu was extensive and fairly priced for the area and amount of food. They had authentic Thai dishes with a few Chinese dishes added to I guess accommodate the unknowledgeable palette for Thai cuisine. I hope the can do away with the non traditional dishes soon after everyone realizes how amazing their traditional dishes are! They have THAITEA& papaya salad, but it’s off the menu. Let’s get to the more important topic: food. Ordered the garlic & pepper chicken w/basil. $ 11. AMAZING! Light, Crunchy, NOTOILY. Just perfect! Just Wow Mixed Pad-see-eaw $ 14. Executed just perfectly! Nice size shrimp, plenty beef and chicken. Veggies were NOT over cooked Mixed pad-Thai $ 14. Just like when I had it in Thailand! Totally yummy Green chicken curry $ 11 was rich and full of flavor. I could go a bit spicer on all the dishes but everything was just damn good. OMFG… Sorry Thai gourmet & Vieng Thai, but this is my new favorite Thai spot. Come give this place a try. One thing that I truly APPRECIATED about this place was that my main squeeze ordered the papaya salad and the waiter came out and told us that the papaya was not up to par to serve! So instead of serving us something that would have been gross they addressed it immediately!!! Wow! Not many places would do this so I truly respect the chef for doing so. Décor is nice. Clean. Hope this place gets more traffic !! Staff is super friendly & quick.(they only had 2 –3 other tables, so better b) def coming back! Happy eating!!!

This place is inconsistent. The first time I tried this place their garlic peppered chicken was so delicious! The second time I went, because I was craving that dish, it was bad. The chicken was tougher, the sauce was too salty, and overall it wasn’t what I remembered tasting last time I went. It was probably one of the day’s the actual owner was not there to actually cook/supervise the dish… I will have to try it again one more time to see if i just went on a bad day. I want to like this place but inconsistency is a no-go.
