Sunrise Super Stop No 5

This is ‘store around the corner’ (literally). I stop here every now and then when I am just too lazy to drive to a larger store. They have the standard stuff that a mom-​and-​pop convenience store would have — but not much more. The store needs some TLC, but they have what I typically need and it is close, so I really can’t complain. The clerks have always been nice.

Decent wine and all the snacks you need. Also the fact they stay open later is always bonus!

I’ve seen this place go from your everyday corner store to the epitome of a beer lovers pit stop in the last 4 years.
There is no need to go to Specs if you’re already on Richmond. Need a Duvel, a St. Arnold’s Divine, Delirium, 120-​min IPA, or any of 3 – 4 dozen craft beers? You can get it here.
Korger, HEB, Randall’s, and the whole lot cannot even come close to what they pack in their frigs.
I’m a huge beer fan and I can actually come in here and find something I’ve never had before. That is not something you can say about any other corner store in Houston.
The guys behind the counter are just as great. Nice guys that love their customers and go so far as to «set a 6-​pack behind the counter because I knew you would want it». If you would like to see a certain beer they don’t carry, you can ask them, and don’t be surprised if it shows up next month.
As long as I live in Greenway, I will continue to give my money to this place because its exactly what an American neighborhood, family store is all about.

Just down the road from Hollywood and better hours. No, this place doesn’t make keys or have as large of a «humidor» but it still has that eclectic «charm» of 25 years of business without an update, even though they have given the front a face lift. I have never dared to eat anything from this place, but I suspect the mysterious aroma is from years of deep frying with little oil changes.
They do have many good features — a nice beer selection, good hours and slightly better pricing than the nearby competition. Their parking lot is also easily accessed even with Oishii next door. It is convenient for me, so I generally like the establishment.
