4 stars for food, 1 star for service. We had Tom kha gai, California roll, super crunchy roll, red curry chicken and seaweed salad. For an Asian/Thai/sushi restaurant in Kingwood Texas, food is great. Service otoh, was rude. Not sure if our waitress was having a bad day or not. Reading the other reviews, it would appear not.

I got the banana tempura and found a roach cooked into it. This is literally the most disgusting thing that has ever happened to me. When I showed the staff they said sorry but didn’t seem surprised at all.

This place is horrible. They advertise themselves as a Sushi/Thai restaurant — that alone should have told me something. My wife and I both ordered from the Thai side of the menu — she the pepper steak and me the ginger chicken. The menu specifies that we should indicate how spicy we want the dish on a scale from 1 to 5. As the waitress walked away, we called her back to tell her that part of the rest of our order(1 — her, 4 — me). The food came and there was nothing Thai about it in terms of spiciness or seasonings used. It was food that tasted straight off a Chinese menu, quite bland and dry meat that must have been cooked days ago and microwaved. Not once during our meal did the waitress come check on us. How do places like this stay in business?

I live in Kingwood and this is a must go to place for anyone, the people are very friendly and the sushi is out of this world! If you have any relatives over from out of town you have to take them here! I would especially recommend the shaggy dog roll and the crazy crunch roll and any other rolls are great too! If there are any sushi fanatics reading this and are in Kingwood, it will be promising! Oh…And dont even mention the Bulldog sauce, its out of this world!

I met a friend here for lunch today. I live nearby and drive by this place frequently. There rarely is anyone inside, and now I know why. I had the Thai Basil Shrimp – medium spice – on the Thai Luncheon Menu. It came with a small green salad and ginger dressing, miso soup and an egg roll. Those extras were nothing to get excited about, so I won’t even comment on them. I also ordered brown rice($ 1 extra), and the shrimp was $ 1 extra also. When the food came I asked for Sriracha Sauce, and the waitress said: «you ordered your food medium spice… it is medium spice – you do not need any more hot spice.» EXCUSEME – just WHO is eating the food AND paying for it? She reluctantly brought it, and I did use it. So first reason for two stars – her telling me what I got was good enough(spice wise) w/o adding anything extra. The other reason was there were maybe five shrimp on the dish. Come on… give me a few more. Not impressed and not worth a trip back. She really had me at telling me I didn’t need any more spice.

Simple too basic décor like fast food place but more importantly sushi not served chilled. The food is only fair — nothing remarkable. Overall, this place is nothing special and not a dining experience worth having if you are a true sushi lover.

We used to like this place. Seems like it gets worse everytime we come in. The more I eat the more pissed off I get(pregnant. Sorry) My pad see euw is subpar and my husbands japanese noodles are too salty and beef is over cooked. It’s mediocre. Got $ 24 to burn? Go eat here.

I really LOVE! Sushi and as a lover of sushi #sushiproblems it isnt very hard to please me when it comes to eating sushi but I have to say I was utterly disappointed in the quality of the sushi, it didn’t taste good to me and the service was not all that when I went there was only ONE waitress and I had to wait a long time for everything and he was not pleasant. Save your money and try somewhere else

Great find in Kingwood. Chef will custom make rolls, even for vegetarian customers. Live music on Sunday nights. Good food. I like the curry.

I really love this place. It is close to home so we have been going more often lately. I LOVE the red curry chicken(extra spicy). Good sushi. Some very nice dishes that a are unique in this suburb. My wife liked the Pad Tai. The menu is huge and a little disorganized. They are efficient and welcoming as a staff. Nice little place right in the middle of Town Center Kingwood. The only knock inside is that there isn’t any music or ambiance. Quiet and on non peak hours it can be oddly quiet. Overall I love getting food here. It does not disappoint. Have been craving that red curry!

Was looking forward to it but just didn’t work out well. Went in on a slow week day so service was pretty nice. Polite. Drinking glasses tasted like bleach/cleaning solution. Soup also tasted off. My friend ordered scallop sushi and it smelled fishy as if it’d been sitting out for too long and at too high of a temp. We canceled our order and decided to leave because it just felt like the beginnings of a bad tummy experience. They were very polite, apologized, and only charged us for the sushi eaten.

Kingwood doesn’t have too much of an Asian scene when it comes to food so when I happened to pass by this place I was eager to try it, but when I did, I was quite disappointed. The signs should have given it off to me, like a blend of sushi and Thai, so I shouldn’t have expected much but I was willing to give it a try. I tried the tom yum chicken soup, and it tasted different, sweeter than normal that I couldn’t taste the«Thai» in it. I ordered the shaggy dog roll, and was really disappointed, the shrimp tempura was so hard it hurt when I would take a bite and the rest of the ingredients didn’t taste right, like it has been sitting out long. My boyfriend had the chicken katsu, and he said, you really can’t get that wrong, and so that was okay. The tempura ice cream would probably be the only reason why I would come back, but other than that, I pass.

The atmosphere inside Sushi Hana was kind of lacking compared to most Asian restaurants in the area. However, the absolutely delicious Chicken Pad Thai made me forget that I was basically sitting at a metal folding table. The portions are very large, so I had plenty to save and take home for lunch.

Came here for the Thai side of the menu with my fiancé. Both of us were starving and hungry for Thai. Being new to the area we decided on this place tucked into the Kingwood Town Center. Hannah ordered Thai Tea and we both agreed it was too sweet. My jasmine tea was excellent. We ordered pad Thai and vegetable Panang curry. The pad Thai was– how do I put this– more like spaghetti with watery peanut sauce with a few pieces of rubbery, flavorless chicken, and a few token veggies. The veggie Panang curry was less-than-flavorful and the vegetables were not fresh, mushy, and could possibly have been something out of a frozen bag of veggies that you would find in the grocer’s freezer. The menu stated that there was tofu in the curry, but we never found it. Both of us were underwhelmed. Maybe its Japanese dishes are great, but the Thai, not so much.

Typical americanized sushi place BUT I love the service here. They are so flippin’ friendly! My family comes here once a week, they treat us like family. The best thing on the menu is an app called«spicy snapper», lightly fried bite-sized pieces of snapper drizzled with sushi mayo and garnished with green onions. Let’s face it, Kingwood isn’t exactly a culinary dream, but geographically, Sushi Hana may be my favorite place out on that part of the town.

The menu may be a little confusing as there are appetizers in a couple of locations. Look the whole thing over before you make up your mind. I will highly recommend the miso soup. The broth was flavorful, even if the tofu bits were small. The sushi I had was OK. The white tuna and regular tuna nigiri did not taste super fresh, but it was edible. The Tuna Lovers roll was a huge portion and it was loaded with tuna. The down side for it was that it was so highly punched up with sriracha or some similar sauce that I could not taste the fish. I will have to come back and try other nigiri and rolls. They also serve Thai food and I will need to give that a go, especially the pad see ew.

Pro tip — There’s a special sushi menu! You have to ask for it, and the selection is so wonderful! Last night, my family and I went back to Sushi Hana with some friends. They tipped us off about the special sushi menu, and our server smiled and brought it right to us. There are several excellent sushi choices that are not on the main menu, and are so worth trying! I ordered the lobster roll, and while it’s at the higher part of their price bracket, it was more than worth it! I love how fresh their ingredients are, and the way they really go out of their way to have different kinds of sushi for their customers. I really think this is one of my favorite places in Kingwood and I can’t recommend it enough. :)

Oh half star, where are you when I need you? The menu is Japanese, Thai and with a few fusion options there is something for all you picky eaters out there. Price is always a key factor for me when I’m choosing to eat out for lunch and Sushi Hana hit the nail on the head when they offer a Bento Box for $ 8.95. Bento Box lunch breakdown in 3.2…1… #15 Miso Soup: They really skimp on the tofu in the miso which irks me because miso should be like a game of hide and seek, not a game of seek and get thoroughly disappointed. Ginger Salad: I don’t think they dried the lettuce very well because I had a pool of translucent orange ginger dressing at the bottom of my bowl Sushi: Fatty tuna, Yellowtail and Salmon were all a really nice 2 bite size. I am doubting the freshness of their fish as it all seemed to not have that nice firm texture you get with ocean to plate sushi. California Roll: they actually give you the whole roll with the lunch special. Thanks for not cheating me. It reminded me of the rolls you get at the grocery store when you are having a sushi craving that you think would be a good idea. But it’s not. Don’t do it. Chicken Katsu: Thin sliced chicken breast with a light dust of panko. I would have liked a little more panko just for crunch but it was by far my favorite in the box. The bbq sauce reminded me of the kind you get from MickyD’s. As you can see, that’s a lot of freakin’ food for 9 bucks so insert ½ star here. It’s a nice interior and quite a bit larger than what you would expect from the outside. With all the sushi options in Kingwood, it’s a little difficult for me to justify returning.

I’ve been to this place three times now, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it each time. I especially like it because here I feel the most successful with chopsticks. The wait staff are personable and prompt and the food is great. I love the Crazy Crunch and Volcano rolls. All of their sushi is great. I tried their Chicken Katsu the other day and I don’t think I’ve had a better BBQ sauce in my life. My biggest regret is that I didn’t get very much of it because everyone else was borrowing! Their tempura is pretty good, although I found it a little lacking in flavor. The BBQ sauce goes well with it, FYI. A great place for the family. Even my kid nephews love it!
