Very fresh and right on with flavors. I really like the new remodeling, small yet very comfortable. I ho often.

Anytime I want sushi by my home, I come here. I have yet to be disappointed in their service and their food. They expanded their restaurant to include some booths which makes the dining experience better. I love this place and recommend it to anyone who lives out in the Humble/Atascocita/Kingwood area.

Been going here for years and this place(food AND service) just keeps getting better and better! We always start out with the Miso Soup. It’s soooo good and always served at the perfect temperature! My daughter tasted mine when she was three years old, and has always ordered it since! She’s now six! Tokyo Maki, Firework, and Shaggy Dog are the best specialty rolls. We order these consistently! Our daughter, who is now six, actually can eat three orders of sashimi(smoked salmon). I’m personally not a fan of JUST fish, but she absolutely loves it. It melts in your mouth! Everything is ALWAYS extremely fresh and plated beautifully. We’ve tried other sushi bars, but unfortunately for them, none of them are even close to Ginger Café! Even the fancy ones in Houston! They have recently expanded within the past year or so, and so has their menu. They even offer chef specials now, which are ALWAYS a hit. I’m actually quite bummed that one of their specials is not a regular item on the menu. This place is perfection!

Outstanding in every way! Honestly, it is one of my favorite restaurants in Atascocita, and we are very lucky to have such a wonderful eatery in our community.

Regular customer for several years now; always my top recommendation for the best fresh sushi and Japanese cuisine in the Humble/Kingwood/Atascocita area. Recent expansion has increased their seating capacity tremendously. Favorite dish: Katsu Don, fried pork cutlet and sauteed vegetables served over steamed rice, topped with a fried egg. Also, tempura shrimp and vegetables are excellent here. Located in the shopping center on the southeast corner of FM1960 E and West Lake Houston Parkway.

Really great food. Loved the sushi! Awesome shaggy dog and spicy tuna rolls. Highly recommend both. Can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu. Definitely give this place a try for a casual sushi spot. You won’t regret it.

The reason I am giving 1 star for customer service. I have overlooked the service because I really liked the food. But one day my cousin and I ate our bento box & sushi rolls. But couldn’t get any refills for our drinks. The only reason we got our food was the guy who made the sushi rolls had to yell at waitress. When she replied in front of others, «yeah, yeah» and flung her hand in the air. He repeated something again and she finally brought my food. The manager on duty and waitress were more concerned with their cell phones. Then a guy waiter walked in and immediately started refilling drinks. I asked him, if I tip does he solely get it. He said no. Aha, thats why the customer service is so poor. They all share tips so whether they do a good job or do nothing. They all get paid the same. I don’t go there anymore. I just can’t waste my time or money on a place where I have to be asking for a refill for my drink or my food to be served. In the first time in many years I didn’t tip. I couldn’t give away my money to someone who didn’t even care. The lady who was in charge should be reprimanded for allowing staff to treat customers poorly.

Better get a new front of house manager. Sat for 15 Minutes no service. Saw waiter tell customers. «You’ll just have to wait». By by.

What a great place My wife and I get the box meal. Kind of neat. It comes with entrée and all the sides in a wooden box. Flavors are fresh and the potion is just right. They have expanded, but still and little small. They have a bar for sushi, but I am not into the raw fish thing. I see a lot of folks who seem to enjoy it however. We will be back.

Great service and great food! The shaggy dig was very good! They also brought out a free appetizer of sushi that was the chef choice which was a very good treat! Husband got the Bento box which came with a little of everything. Highly recommend!

We have been going to Ginger Café since we moved to Atascocita in 2006. We also been to 838 and Wazabi, which are also good, but Ginger is our favorite out of the 3. First, there is a great selection of sushi, sashimi and rolls that are freshly made. Second, for those that aren’t into sushi, there is a good selection of bento boxes, tempura dishes, etc. Back to the sushi… the three things I look for when I eat sushi are: must be odorless, the color of the fish must be vibrant and the taste must be «fishy» but not sour. In all the years I’ve been going to Ginger, sushi meets that criteria. Hand crafted by a Japanese Itame. With the renovation/expansion, Ginger is now a bit fancier than what is was… perfect for casual dining or to celebrate a special occasion. The service is very good… prompt and polite. Highly recommended if you love sushi.

This is my second time coming here. The first time I came here I ordered a roll of the shaggy dog. It was pretty good; I’ve never been a sushi lover but for some reason craving that day. And my second time coming here I ordered a chicken Katsu. It was by far the best Katsu I’ve ever had! On Sunday afternoons my friends and I usually like to go out to easy after church and for the longest time we stopped going to 838 sushi because the service was so bad and the rolls were as big as a quarter. I’m definitely coming here again

I really do hate to leave negative reviews, but one thing that I truly value is customer service. The food can be perfection, but if customer service is not there, food quality does not matter. Let me preface this review with a background story. When we moved to the area a little over 4 years ago we went to Ginger Café with our two year old daughter. My husband and I ordered our entrees and we asked for a side of plain noodles(no sauce, no meat, no veggies, simply noodles) for our daughter(one of the only things she would eat). We did not think this was an odd request. Pei Wei willingly sells a HUGE bowl of plain noodles for $ 0.99, Nara Thai also gladly sells a generous portion of noodles for $ 2. Other places have done this for our daughter as well, it has never ever been a problem. Ginger Café acted like we were crazy. The waitress said, «So, chicken lo mein?» We said, «No,» and explained just noodles. Well, they finally brought out just noodles. It was a very teeny tiny portion of noodles that our toddler gobbled up in minutes and complained of hunger. When we received the bill, they charged us $ 6 for the kids chicken lo mein. We asked the waiter why we were charged for the chicken lo mein as she just had plain noodles. We were told they had no other way to ring it up. We asked to speak to the manager who told us the exact same thing. We just felt as though the $ 6 for a tiny portion of plain noodles was ridiculous and the excuse of «we have no other way to ring it up» shows a lack of care for the customer. My husband and I both had multiple sushi rolls and spent a great deal of money on our food. Anyway, after this experience we vowed to not go back. So fast forward to today… my parents have been going to Ginger Café and rave about it. My husband and I decided to try it on a date night(just the two of us) one night and enjoyed it. Well, tonight my husband, father-in-law, myself and our now two children decided to go. It was like a weird déjà vu. We all ordered our drinks and entrees and then I tried to order two sides of plain noodles for our two daughters(all they will eat). I was told by the waitress, «We can’t do that. We have no way to ring that up.» I said, «No one ever asks for a side of noodles with their entrée?» Her reply was, «No.» We asked to speak to the manager he came over and told us the same thing. «We have no way to ring it up. We have to sell you chicken lo mein.» We begrudgingly agreed. We ordered ONE kids lo mein, but just noodles, no sauce, no meat, no veggies, etc. They brought out a very tiny portion on noodles for each child and just like four years ago, our daughter gobbled it up in a moment and then complained of hunger and just like four years ago we were charged $ 6 for chicken lo mein even though it was just plain noodles. Once again, we spent a great deal of money on adult entrees. I just hate the excuse of «we have no way to ring it up.» You can’t charge a miscellaneous $ 2 or $ 3 charge?! Or charge us for something else on the menu?! Once again we vowed to never go back to Ginger Café. We’ll stick to it this time. The food is good, but not worth the hassle when we can go to Nara or Pei Wei and be accommodated.

They have updated the place and enlarged it. The interior is now easily 4 times bigger. The food has changed ever so slightly in that they have pulled a few combinations apart, like veg tempura and shrimp tempura. Other than that, the food is the same wonderful food. I missed it while they were closed for remodeling. The only drawback to the remodel is that now they are churning a lot more food out of what may be the same sized kitchen and the help is not as fast on the draw as they were when there were 6 tables. BUT, they are improving. I hope the trend continues. This is still the«default» place for my hub and I to go to eat. We know it will be good, the people will be nice, and we will leave happy. I highly recommend Ginger.

The best sushi experience I have had in a while. The fried calamari was tender. The spicy tuna was just the right amount of spice! My husband ordered the Firework roll. It was delicious. The wait staff was very attentive. And the prices were agreeable. I will a very regular customer. :)
