Mediocre brunch menu, wait staff, quality. So many better places in town to go. A total of 6 tables in the place at 1pm and it took until 2pm to get a wrap and some sliders. Not good.

Went last night. Kitchen is open late which is very helpful, and the food is surprisingly really good. A group of tacky bridesmaid charity event showed up and all the ladies were hot. Good drinks specials. While not a huge fan of Washington. This bar is a good place for late night Thursday drinks. My only complaint would be their signage. I drove by the place the first time.

Fun bar that serves AMAZING food. Big comfortable patio, many TVs — inside and outside. Shuffleboard table, cornhole. Very fun place to spend your time with friends. Extremely attentive staff as well. Try the pizza!

Plenty of TVs and great outdoor seating. I’m not sure why this place isn’t as crowded as the rest of Washington? The crawfish were ok, but since we came later in the evening, they probably aren’t as freshly boiled as could be. Three of the TVs had Dancing with the Stars(odd!), but we requested to change it to the hockey game and we had no issues doing so. This would be a good place to go chill out and catch some games without the typical crowds found up and down the street.

Swaye Bar was the second bar on our pub crawl. First, I need to recommend that they change the location of their sign. It is on the side of the building and you can’t see it unless you look backwards. Now the review… For Unilocal Drinks they had a few specials including a Frozen Sweet Tea which I tried. I know you can get this drink in a lot of places, but it was still really good. It is the sort of drink you would have during a hot Houston summer while sitting on the patio. Speaking of the patio. Swaye has a huge outdoor seating area. There were plenty of tables to sit at and I could imagine myself sitting outside on a warm night watching everyone go by on Washington. After shooting some Blue Kamikazes, we ordered food. The burger and fries were nothing artisan or gourmet, but they were about a 5 or 6 on the bar food scale. We visited Swaye around 7:00 so there was not much of a crowd, but I could see myself socializing there. Waiting for those warm summer Houston nights to take in the Swaye patio.

Good thing about this place is the big parking lot across from it at the bank. Walked over here from Porch Swing to check it out and the place was pretty much empty, and there was no waiter or waitress so be seen. Maybe I came on here on a bad night, but this place needs to step their game up because the bar next door sure has a lot more business!

Stopped in for crawfish last weekend. Crawfish is below average here — they are fine, but not good. The place seems like a hangout for college kids who do not mind that you have to get up and order at the bar EVERY time you need a drink bc they are short-staffed. service is not very friendly. Too much cement on the patio. Tables are also dirty. Not the best scene on Washington.

Would give this 0 stars but that’s not an option so they get 1. Went to their $ 16 all you can eat crawfish which started at noon. Got there at 1215 and the place was EMPTY, already a bad sign. A waitress — Chassidy– kept looking at our table and walking away. Totally ignoring us. This happened about 3 times til we finally flagged her down. We asked if we order from her or from the bar, she said either way. So we decided to just order from her since we planned to sit n eat. We ordered the crawfish special and some beers. She opened our tab and we assumed the crawfish would be brought to us as soon as it was ready, which we mistakenly thought wasn’t going to be much longer since the sign said all you can eat starts at 12 and by now it was already close to 1. We thought about leaving after we’d been waiting for food for over an hr, but kept thinking surely it’ll come soon. The table next to us got there before us and they were still waiting too. Crawfish is not hard to make! Long story short, they didn’t bring out the crawfish til around 1:30. By then a larger crowd arrived and we had to line up outside to get our crawfish. We were the first ones in line and our waitress Chassidy was serving the crawfish. But then she told us we need to go to the bar to get wristbands for crawfish. The line behind us was long so we got upset of course. She took our order and never mentioned that we needed wristbands. We told her this and instead of acknowledging this mistake, she blew it off and told us to get our wristbands. So we left the line and went to the bar which was now crowded with other people also trying to get wristbands. The bartender was overwhelmed and wasn’t helping us. We complained to another waitress, who tried to help us get the bartender to get the wristbands. She even went outside to save containers of crawfish for us before this batch ran out. In the meantime, the rude waitress Chassidy came in and snapped at us to give our wrists to her so she could put them on. I was so annoyed, I asked her why she didn’t give them to us an hr ago when we got there. She got mad and said«I can only do so much». So I said«That’s exactly why you shouldve given them to us when we got here and the place was empty.» She ignored me and snapped at my other friend for her wrist. Her snapping at us and ignoring what was her mistake irritated me so much so I sarcastically said«And your apology is appreciated» which she responded«So is your attitude!» I was so shocked. I’ve never been spoken to so rudely by an employee anywhere. The people with me witnessed this and they even said I did not say anything to her with an attitude. The other waitress said Chassidy was stressed out and was taking it out on us. We get our crawfish and when we want our next round, we have to go outside and wait in the long line again. The crawfish batches were coming out so slow that everyone would go rush out there when they saw the batches come out. If you were at the end of the line, there was a chance you wouldn’t get any. All they were serving was crawfish. Then at 230 they finally brought out the corn and potatoes — 2 ½ hrs after their all you can eat was started! And the potatoes were still hard. Last thing, they were serving the crawfish in styrofoam to go containers and if you wanted more crawfish, you got a new container each time. When we were almost done, another waitress asked us to save our containers because they were running out. That is so unsanitary. If you’re at a buffet, you would get a new plate. You don’t reuse your stuff when you get more. This place is poorly managed. Turns out Chassidy is the owner’s girlfriend, which sucks for him because she is gonna bring his business down. She can’t talk to customers like that and expect them to come back… I’m telling everyone not to come here and hopefully Unilocalers dont try this place! After the long wait, bad service, bad food, and being told I have an attitude, I will never go here again

This place has changed since it’s Social-days. The outdoor is still the same. The indoor has been remodeled and looks very nice. However, on a day like this weekend, everyone was sitting outside. There is no waitstaff so you have to order at the bar– this wasn’t too bad, but the food is definitely overpriced. Foodies beware… We had wanted to order some crawfish, but by the time we got there, they had already run out. This was actually a good thing. We saw a table order 2 pitchers of crawfish, but they left them behind when they left. Instead, we ordered chicken and waffles that turned out to be a sad sight. The waffles looked like frozen Eggos and the chicken wings were very limp(compare this to Max’s Wine Dive!!). The breakfast pizza’s ingredients didn’t go together very well. It was a good thought, but bad execution. The artichoke dip was definitely overpriced. The dip was $ 6 for ½ a cup of dip… literally(nothing like Houston’s dip!). And the fried pickles… didn’t think you could mess those up(try them at Zelko Bistro instead). We miss the old chef of Social… This has been the worst food experience on Washington. =(

I went to Swaye Bar with some friends to watch the Shakeweight Olympics they have on Wednesdays. Though the bar was somewhat empty, this place has soooo much potential. The staff is friendly and interactive so they make you feel really welcome. Prices were very reasonable and the small crowd that was there was fun! They have a big patio with heaters and games. They have beanbags, shuffleboard, and your basic other bar games. They also have hammock chairs, but I’m a little hesitant to sit in one those in fear that I may never get up. I have yet to come to swaye bar on a night other than Wednesday, but I definitely plan to. The shakeweight olympics were hilarious and I will be there tonight to enjoy the people-watching!

Love, Love, Love!!! Gotta tell ya this hyper critical girl loves the owner Chassidie(formerly of Pearl Bar) and this cool but yet comfortable space… Heights residents please patronize this establishment so that the small town bar and it’s persona survive! Cudos to Chassidie and her staff for giving great customer service and the cursed corner of Yale and Heights a new comfortable feel!

Went to the soft opening. Place was decorated nicely without being stuffy. Great open patio area with plenty of seating! Drink prices were reasonable for being on Washington. Did not try the food so will have to try that out. Heard there were going to be games out back so can’t wait for those to be set up. Will definitely be back with some friends!
