Happened to be driving down Bellaire one night when my stomach was growling like crazy. Saw a taco truck on the side of the road that had 99cent tacos painted on the side of the truck and thought I’d give it a shot as a cheap way to satisfy my hunger. The area doesn’t seem to be the safest part of town — it’s located on Hillcroft close to Bellaire, next to a Cheques Cashed store and a Payless ShoeSource… when i pulled in there were cops arresting a cursing and belligerent man in the adjacent shopping center — but that wasn’t enough to keep me from my tacos! There was a pretty good sized crowd/line, so I figured it must be halfway decent. Walked up, to the window and ordered two beef fajita tacos. The lady at the window was real nice, even though I think I looked a little out of place, being the only one there not speaking Spanish. The tacos came with a pickled carrot slice, and caramelized onions(which was a nice touch!) on the side. The tortillas seem a little small, but they do make up for it by stuffing the insides with a generous amount of meat and other goodies. Anyhow, the tacos were alright… nothing to write home about, but this is a truck I’d drop by again for some cheap eats
