The food is just OK, we tried the spicy and non-spicy deep fried snail, deep fried frog leg, Italian sausage sandwich, and fried pork with cheese sandwich. Our picks: non-spicy snail(the spicy is a big no-no since few from our group who finished the dish had a sudden urge to the restroom not long after we left), deep fried frog leg, and fried pork with cheese(the pork is just OK, but the cheese is sooo good). + for being able to use the parking, table, and chair from the wine shop where it parks.

A little disappointed at the menu. It was either a choice of escargot dishes or something on a baguette. You can’t just put anything on a baguette. My husband wanted to try the crab cakes on baguette and I order it even though I was hesitant. I should’ve went with my instincts. Crab cakes don’t belong on a baguette as a sandwich… MAYBE if it was baguette slices, but that’s a maybe. Fried escargots were delish. VERY buttery so I wouldnt recommend eating the entire dish by yourself. You may get sick from all that grease. But then again that’s just me. I wish they would carry more stuff from their restaurant Bistro Provence.

Tried the Poppers, fries, crab cake baguette, and escargot baguette. The best thing there was the crab cake humbled by the baguette. the worst was the escargot baguette which was flavorless; then again, I thought the whole idea of snails as a delicacy is to kill them with butter, garlic, salt and herbs… maybe a little Parmesan too. I expected the fries to be more like«frites»: thin and fried in duck fat but no, they were just fries… good ‘ol American fries; certainly not bad, just average and unimpressive. Finally the Poppers: deep fried escargot served with Cholula hot sauce. That’s it. Ok, just not great. What was nice was the chance to enjoy sitting outdoors on a rare perfect weather night in Houston and have a very nice and reasonably priced wine from«French Country Wines». It was really nice.

I’m not sure I’d call this«gourmet» French cuisine, but it’s French-something cuisine. I had escargots en baguette, served with sauteed onions, and my son had what they referred to as a hamburger en baguette. Both were pretty good, made better by the outstanding baguette, perhaps the best I’ve had in Houston. The truck was parked outside French Country Wines on Wednesday evening, and has a fairly limited menu – maybe eight items. They accept cash, and prefer exact change, but if you charge to a credit card, they impose a $.50 service charge. The young lady who takes the orders is very friendly and puts up with all attempts to speak French, even from someone who does it with a Texas accent! The chef, Jean-Phillipe, is certifiably French.

What chutzpah… snail poppers. Tried them… what’s the thinking here? Hot wings except with snails? First one I ate was still frozen in the middle. Ugh. Not too bad but don’t really see this as a Houston winning concept. Putting hot sauce on snails doesn’t make them that hip for $ 5.50.

No ordinary food truck… its gourmet french cuisine. Its the new kid on the block in whats seems to be a huge explosion of food vendors in Houston. I decided on the escargot poppers and I surprised myself, they were good, I was scared to try at first but they are pretty tasty. I also had a poulet with mushroom and rice. It was packed with poulet and had a very good«french» flavor to it. I definitely need to go back for dessert as they offer crème brûlée, excited to see where their menu goes from here.
