Waited all morning to get a fresh juice. Walked over to the bar said hello how are you to a man who looked at me like i spoke on tongues. So I walked over to the bar tender and said hi as well. Red haired pudgy white guy with glasses. He also ignored me.(Mind you they are not busy he is cleaning the counters 10:20am dec 30) I looked at the menu anyway to see what I wanted and finally I asked«are you all open?» He replied… «yes we are» and proceeds to clean. So i start to grab my bags and he asks«can I get you something?» I told him no i will not beg anyone to take my money. He is a horrible employee. I have worked for Continental for 9 years. I am in this airport daily. I will tell everyone I come in contact with not to visit this establishment. I suggest someone speak with him. I wish I had asked his name so I can put it in this review. Im sure ill see him next week. Ill update this.

This quality of food in an airport is difficult to find. I highly recommend the Tuna Tostada. Slightly spicy but with all the fresh citrus juices it’s a fresh bright dish. I also recommend their La Sangrona Cocktail. It’s a twist on a Bloody Mary that is top notch!

Let me start by saying I only had a drink here, so I can’t comment on the food. The Fruteria has many drink options at prices that are similar to a bar outside of the airport, which I can appreciate. I had their margarita with their house pineapple infused tequila… it was very good and decently large. You can’t ask for much more for under 10 $ in an airport. If you’re looking for a preflight drink, check this place out!

Their lemonade tasted homemade and delicious. It seemed a bit pricey, but reasonable considering that all airport food tends to be. I’d say it’s worth it, & I’d buy it again.

An oasis in the desert!!! Fresh, healthy food in an airport is hard to come by. The food was delicious(try the Tuna Torta) and the service was super friendly!

Selling outdated food. The fruit and yogurt I bought was disgusting. Unfortunate place.

What a cute place! Above average for an airport restaurant. It’s really a bar(both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) with some light snacks like tortas and tostadas. I had a seared tuna sandwich and shared a chicken tinga tostada. Awesome cocktails made with real fruit juices like the Piña Mezcal. I enjoyed having a little San Antonio getaway in IAH. Will be back!

My second star is for the fact that other patrons had some good-looking food at their seats, and the general look of the place was quite nice. I ordered a fruit cup with chili and lime, not realizing that those 8 dollars only entitle you to pick out an old, tired, pre-made cup of fruit from the counter and a plastic bottle of artificial crap and dress it yourself, with no room to mix it up. Plenty of places in Tucson will make a chili lime fruit cup for a dollar or two and it’s delectable when done right. This, however, was a huge waste of money.

Great spot for picking up something quick and relatively healthy before a flight out of terminal B. Also nice seating area at the restaurant counter and nearby. The smoothies/juices are pretty good if you’re up for something fresh. Docked one star for being fairly overpriced. Docked another star for the sandwiches being pretty mediocre.

Very very pricey. But the quality and uniqueness of this place is amazing. I totally did not expect to find something like this at the airport. Took a trek to Terminal D to find it, but at least we did. Dropped quite a bit on a specialty cocktail, a jicama salad, and a smoothie for the kids. However, the quality and tastiness of the food cannot be denied. The salad and cocktail were both amazing. The kids loved the smoothie. They do some quite creative and foody things here. Many of the drinks are made with alcohol freshly infused with different fruits/vegetables. Consequently, I do recommend trying one of their cocktails especially the ones made with the spicy infusion. So good!

Fresh light and refreshing salad… hubby loved the tuna and pickled onions with lime and cilantro… suprising find in an airport terminal!

What a ripoff. The portions are minuscule and the eggs are reheated. I ordered a breakfast off the menu and ended up paying more than $ 8 for what amounted to a $ 3 taco. This place is simply fleecing bleary-eyed connecting passengers unconscionably. Now I will go and spend another seven bucks to get a second breakfast somewhere else so that I don’t starve on my next flight. I actually went and registered for Unilocal just so I could warn folks about this joint.

The décor is very pretty but I didn’t enjoy the food. I ordered the vegetarian tostada at lunch time. The tomatoes were old and the plate was tiny for the price.

The Fruteria is tucked away at the far end of Terminal B, but worth the walk. I arrived around 7pm, and found a large square bar with plenty of stools, and a separate table area. I opted for a stool and the bartender gave me a warm greeting. He said their tostadas are very good and suggested the sashimi grade tuna version. Sounds good to me. I also ordered a fresh fruit smoothie(you can select the combo you want — I went with strawberries, mango and pineapple). I said no to honey, but it could have used some sweetener. Still quite good and a welcome dose of vitamins after eating crappy airport food earlier in the day. My tostada arrived and was covered in shredded veggies, with a large pieces of tuna. The guac was kind of grey looking, but for an airport restaurant I was satisfied. The bartender offered me cholula sauce, and it help kick up the flavor. I’ll stop by again on a future Houston stopover.

Phenomenal — one of the best meals I’ve eaten at any airport, worldwide. I suppose folks haven’t had a chance to review yet since restaurant is new in the new terminal, but to my fellow IAH-layover foodies, this is the real deal. Had a stellar mango licuado, ceviche tostada with crema and guacamole, and the tinga tostada with jicama and a rich tinga sauce. Prices are in line with what I’d expect at a much lower quality airport restaurant. A shame I was one of the only people eating here; the word needs to get out.

During our hideously long layover(which ended up being a cancelled flight), my husband and I found respite here for a couple of hours. They have a great tequila menu if you are so inclined. I ended up with their classic frozen margarita. It was very tasty. I could not drink it all because it was a pretty hefty portion. Great value for your money on that front. The only food thing we got was the guacamole and chips. And it was very delicious. I’ve had 3 guacamoles during my San Antonio/Houston stay and all of them were winners, so I’m thinking it’s safe to say Texas knows how to make mean guacamole! Very fresh, very bright and creamy. It was definitely the highlight of the evening, that’s for sure. Kind of wish I would have tried one of their small plates because someone near me had something that looked(and smelled) absolutely delicious. Maybe next time(if there is one). Definitely stop here and enjoy if you find yourself in Houston Airport, Terminal B. The bar sits right in the gate area so you aren’t sequestered off somewhere risking missing your flight. It’s the perfect layover on your layover.

This little oasis in the middle of the Houston Airport is really well done. I only tried the coconut milk/water thing that was sitting in their cold case, ready to go, but it was fantastic! Super refreshing. A little bit on the sweet side, but full of coconutty flavor.

Even better than the original San Antonio fruteria(different menu). Margaritas + Tostadas = happiness!!! I don’t give 5 stars easily !! Service is great and the food is fresh and fantastic. You must try the Tinga Tostada! Messy and great taste of Mexico(I know I’m Mexican!). I would post a picture of the tostada but I just couldn’t stop eating it! Make the time between flights to visit this place located in terminal B by gate 20. This is NOT your airport food in any way.
