The Grove at White Oak Apartments

I agree with all the comments about Carol. She is the most amazing apartment manager I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She does truly care and is always very helpful. This complex was one of my favorites by far because of the following:
— I loved the pool area and little park
— I liked that they had washer and dryers included
— The neighbors were all very respectful, quiet and clean, I never had to complain about noise
— There was a feeling of home rather than a regular apartment community
— As has been mention, management was great as well as maintenance
— My electricity stayed on after a big storm which was nice
— Internet and TV always worked nice and fast
— There was trash pick up at the front door
— They replaced my carpet for me because the previous owners had ruined it
— the closets were walk-​in
I lived in a one bedroom with study that was a very nice size. Perfect for a single person or even a family. The study had vaulted ceilings, a fan and a closet that could be another room, but the bathroom is in the main room. The air condition always worked great. I never had an issue with plumbing. This was one of my most favorite places to live and I give it 5 stars. I have lived in many places old and brand new.

First off, I have lived here, with a roommate, and now my wife, for almost 3 years. Overall, this is a great place to live. The only downside, hence the 4 stars, is the space, even with a ²⁄₂ apt, its pretty small, about 800 sq feet, however; everything else simply can’t be beat unless you are paying for a really nice high rise or $ 2200 a month somewhere else. The grounds are immaculate and there are 2 really cool dog parks located inside this small property. The manager, Carol, really does care and goes above and beyond to make sure her residents are taken care of. The two maintenance guys, Julio and Mario, are very friendly and work extremely hard at their jobs. We see them all the time fixing stuff and responding to complaints. One of the best parts is that we have two police officers who live on property and walk the grounds each day and night. We have a bad complex to the south of us, but really haven’t had anything to complain about, there is the occasional car break in once every 6 months or so, but living in inner city Houston, there’s always that chance and these guys can’t be everywhere at once. There’s also a really nice pool and a gas grill which is always hopping. Most important, the gate always works and there is a nice 4 story covered parking garage. Its close to an HEB and located along the bayou, with great walking trails and a park. Whats not to like?

Nice place to live in and personable staff. The only let down is that they pretended to waive fees but after some months they wanted the money… And after 5 months they raised the price of the rent. What a shame: the place is really neat.

do not move here!!!
there is mold in the bathtub bc there is a dip where water collects and they refuse to fix the matter.
there is a hole in the wall that they need to fill because it isnt the 1940s anymore. this hole makes it impossible to find a decent place for your tv.
the oven door doesnt go all the way down because the kitchen is so small that it hits the refrigerator. and unless you open the frig door, it is ridiculous! not to mention, there is only 1 drawer in the kitchen that is crazy small! so if you cook, this place is not the place for you.
once you move out, they will take your entire deposit and say it was for cleaning or replacing carpet! but they never gave you a form to fill out to begin with, so you cant even argue the case.
do not move here!!!

There are wayyy more things I love about this apartment complex than hate.
The office manager, Carol is great. She’s sweet and fun and always treats everyone with respect. She also really, really wants to make sure that her tenants are well taken care of. Every time I’ve had a question or problem it was has always been resolved quickly and thoroughly. Maintenance usually responds to every request within 24 hours if not sooner. Everything is always clean and the valet trash and washer/​dryers inside the units are AWESOME. They also offer great rates when renewing your lease and there are never any stupid hidden fees or anything like that.
There have been a couple problems. We’ve dealt with roaches and there have been a few break ins with cars. I realize the roaches are a risk you take when living in Texas and apartments. Also, we are choosing to live in a developing part of town inside the loop. Having your car broken into is a risk you run.

My car was broken into, after ONLY A MONTH of living here. These apartments are overpriced. I though I was safe and it cost me $ 800 dollar just to move in. NOT WORTHY I could be in a two bedroom apartment for less than what I’m paying for a 500 ft.

Great apartment community! I love being a resident here.
