Just had breakfast at The Toasted Yolk Café in Houston Texas. The Alaskan Arnold was absolutely delicious. Salmon was perfectly seasoned and the light lemon taste of the Hollandaise Sauce was on point.

Love the tasty biscuits with my favorite butter and grape jam, their specialty hash browns, ham and eggs cooked exactly how I like them! Excellent service, the wait staff know the menu, describes each item perfectly and they are all so friendly! I would eat here again!

Loved it! Excellent service, food and relaxed environment. Had the Big Ben! I honestly been driving past this place for years… Found it on Unilocal and all the reviews were excellent so I tried it out. Thank you all for your reviews. You’ve helped me find some places I would have never known about!

This place was very nice, the building had plenty of room and wasn’t too loud and didn’t feel crowded during the weekend breakfast rush. I had the eggs benedict and it was very delicious, I wasn’t a fan of the potato hash side, it was too creamy from whatever they added and not enough actual potato. But aside from that the place is good for weekend breakfast! I would stop by again.

Saw the great reviews and thought we’d try a different spot today. Glad we did! Our waitress was Ramona. She was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Only negative is that the food took a little longer to come out. Once it did, it was worth the wait. Delicious, large portions and very filling. Will be a repeat customer!

I’m partial to soup and salad combos and this is perfect. I think the Broccoli Cheese soup is excellent, one of the better Broccoli Cheese soups I’ve had. I like the Chicken Tortilla also! The salad is fresh, crisp, full of yummy! I always get the chicken salad salad with my soup but co-workers have had several others that were very good. The first time I came I was happily surprised at the generous serving for the soup and salad combo. Most places give you a cup of soup with the salad, but here you get a nice size bowl and a perfect sized salad. My husband got the French Dip sandwich and it was great!

Somewhat similar and quick alternative to Cracker Barrel down the street. Why wait for over 30 minutes when you can immediately get seated at Toasted Yolk? And Toasted Yolk has alcohol! Double win! The only downside is this place is a little more pricey. So if you’re tryna take your entire family out on a budget then just continue waiting on the rocking chairs at Cracker Barrel. I prefer the Southern Fried Arnold over the Southwest Arnold because biscuits, fried chicken, egg, and creamy gravy always wins in my book. Plus, it just sounds more appetizing and mouthwatering. Hash brown casserole is cheesy and exactly what you expect from a casserole. No ketchup needed. I like it, but I can’t have too much because the texture and taste is the same all throughout. Just all mush. Although their presentation is not the best, it’s a quick first meal of the day. I can get real fancy here or real simple or even real tipsy… Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it’s good to have different options.

Randomly came across this place when i took the wrong exit and had to make a u-turn! Bookmarked it and actually gave it a try this past weekend! I must say, it is nice to have a decent brunch spot on that side of town(excluding the vintage park area or heading towards the Woodlands, ofcourse). I tried the vegetable scramble with a side of guacamole and mmmmmm was it delicious. I guess i missed the part on the menu where it said that it had queso drizzled over it — oops their went my healthy brunch! But it was well worth it! Definitely a creative idea to use queso instead of regular cheese! Plan to go back next weekend to try more dishes. :)

We were in Houston for a quick 24 hour trip, but knew that we had to try a Southern Style breakfast. After some searching Unilocaling it came down to this choice, and it was a good one! It’s in a large shopping, strip-mall type plaza. There is ample parking, and ample seating. There was a lot of people but we were able to get the seats right away and there were 6 of us. The waiters were super nice and friendly and really made us feel at home. A couple of them were even from California. The menu has everything you want in breakfast/brunch. Eggs, meat, pancakes, waffles, french toast. If you’re not in the mood for breakfast food there is also a menu with salad, sandwiches and such. The first thing we knew we had to order was the churro doughnuts. They are a MUST. They taste as good as they look and they come out warm with the yummy caramel sauce that you can dip or drizzle over. They were so good I took an order to go to bring back to Cali. When I got home I popped it in the oven quick and the sauce in the microwave and they were just as fresh. The Toasted yolk was good also with the egg cooked right into the bread. The grits were soft and lightly buttered and complemented the toasted egg well. If you are in the Houston area a definitely must and great for groups of people.

The customer service is fantastic and the key reason for the 5 star rating. The Philly scramble is very flavorful and enjoyable. Definitely no fake eggs or soggy veggies in there. The biscuits are soft and taste like they’re fixed them from scratch. The hashbrown casserole was phenomenal. It had to have been born from a grandma’s kitchen. The 2 egg plate with turkey sausage was good. Surprisingly, the multigrain pancake packed this entrée with power literally and figuratively because this eating experience knocked out the park. The healthy pancake tastes like a cinnamon cake and is big and round like one too. So go ahead and celebrate your weekend or the beginning of your day here.

I was blown away by the food and speed of service while eating at the toasted yolk this morning! My fiancé and I were in town from Austin and wanted something quick without being fast food, so of course we went to Unilocal. We walked in and were immediately greeted by two lovely hostesses who saw us to our seat. We were seen very shortly after that by our waitress who got our drink orders quickly and we placed our order. I decided on the breakfast with cakes(2 eggs, grits, and ham) and was given the option to get french toast, score! It was delicious and everything was cooked to order. My fiancé just got the regular breakfast plate with 2 eggs, hash brown casserole and sausage. He also loved everything about his meal and we both left so full! We walked in right at 9am and left at 9:27, I was amazed. I have never had such a quick breakfast and it actually be real food! I really wish we lived closer, but we will definitely be back next time we’re in town. I’m curious to try their lunch menu!

This was a REAL breakfast. It’s in a large shopping center and has plenty of seating inside. Very bright and colorful inside with an industrial feel –high ceilings. Very cool vibe to start your day with. All the employees were helpful and smiley– from the hostess to the bus boy to the cook himself who came out to deliver our breakfast. The place was full when we got there and we thought we would have to wait 45 minutes to an hour for breakfast, but it only took about 15 – 20 minutes. Very quick and delicious. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. My egg sandwich was delicious, except the avacado were a little to ripe with a bitterness to them, but I just took them off and everything was perfect. My fiancé ordered ham and eggs and it came with two eggs, lots of ham, fruit and hashbrowns. Definitely worth the out of the way drive we made from our hotel before jumping on the highway!

Definitely coming back to try other plates! Found this spot on Unilocal.Ordered the Yolkwich, but the server messed up and gave me the Toasted Yolk sandwich. So, be specific when you order because these 2 options are very similar. Anyway, toasted yolk sandwich had an egg in the middle of a sourdough bread. Side of meat. I got bacon. Hash brown casserole, and a side of fruit. The bread was so good!!! Loved this. Got a cup of coffee. Total was $ 14. Came on a Monday morning, and it was empty. Which is great.

We found this place through Unilocal after landing in from Orlando. When you first walk in, you’ll notice the board with their specials. The first thing that caught my eye was their Hibiscus Berry Tea. I knew I had to have that! Unfortunately, or waitress told me that they don’t have that kind of tea. I told her it was on the board, she said«no, we’ve never had that tea». Water it is!(Maybe she didn’t know it was a special?) I ordered the West Coast Arnold, which is Cajun turkey slices, bacon, avocado, and a poached egg with a spicy hollandaise sauce all on top of their biscuit. I also ordered the hash brown casserole and fruit cup as a side. This dish blew me away! It was full of flavor, the turkey was very moist, the bacon was done perfectly(not too soft, not too burnt, just perfect). The egg yolk was bursting out the moment I ran my knife through it. The hollandaise sauce was just the right amount of spice. I would definitely recommend this dish to anyone! The hash brown casserole was definitely different. It reminds me of rice and cheese casserole. And I loved it! It’s not too salty, and it’s not soggy at all. Our table also ordered the Churros Donut with Caramel Sauce. I didn’t get a chance to take a picture because it was that darn good! It was gone before we knew it! I would say you MUSTORDERTHIS! DONUT(do not) LEAVEWITHOUTORDERINGTHIS! YOUWILLREGRETIT! Overall, the service was good. Our waitress came by to refill our drinks and she was very friendly. I would definitely come back again if I’m ever in this area.

The food here left both me and my friend feeling not so good. She had broccoli soup and the Santa Fe salad. She said the soup had an off taste. Blech. I had the toasted yolk, which was a slice of toasted sourdough bread with an egg cooked in the middle. It was accompanied by fruit, turkey sausage(or you can get regular sausage or bacon), and hash browns topped with jalapenos, queso, and onions(or grits; the toppings cost extra). The best parts of the meal were the toast and the hash browns. The hash browns are really tasty. Not crispy, but they tasted delicious with all the toppings. The toast was nice and buttery, but the egg was meh. The turkey sausage patties were not good. The only way I can describe it is flimsy and flavorless. I’d chalk it up to it being«turkey sausage,» but I’ve had some that was delicious. Not sure what’s going on there. The fruit is your standard uninteresting cantaloupe/strawberry/grape/honeydew melon. The coffee is a bit harsh. Like I actually prefer the coffee where I work… which they’ve downgraded to reduce costs. Service was fine. I thought I’d branch away from driving into town for breakfast and find a gem, but not so much.

I absolutely adore this little café! I’ve been twice in one week and both experiences have been great. The lunch menu looks very good, but I love breakfast, especially when I can get it until 3pm. My first visit I went with the classic Eggs(Benedict) Arnold, which I feel is a true test of a restaurants breakfast menu. The eggs were perfectly cooked and topped with a creamy and delicious hollandaise. It also came with a dish of fruit and cheesy, crispy hash browns. My next visit I started out with the churro donuts and caramel dipping sauce. Next up was the biscuits and gravy. They were excellent. The portions here are huge! Come hungry and leave full and happy!

Five star review for a great place. Chelsey from St. Louis, you were awesome! Thanks for having a friendly smile and making great recommendations. I like the team work at this place. They all help out serving hot food to their customers! This should not be overlooked! Great service! The food is really great! All at the table had something different we all really enjoyed our breakfast. I loved my french toast. A colleague ordered the breakfast burrito and it was built for a king. The choices on the menu are unique and interesting. Very different and creative. We might come back(even though it is out of our way from where we have business) because it was so dang good! Great job!

OH. MY. FREAKING. GOODNESS. That’s all I can say. If you’re even debating whether you should go or not, don’t. The biggest and most delicious breakfast/brunch you’ll ever have. My husband, who’s not the foodie that I am, even said it was delicious. He never says that about any restaurant. I will most definitely be returning to try the rest of the scrumptious menu! P. S. — Their hashbrown casserole is a must have!!!

Customer service doesn’t get any better than this! My server(I believe her name was Tanisha) was absolutely amazing. She offered me water, gave me suggestions when I was indecisive about which meal to get, & was incredibly friendly as a whole. The meal portions here are insane! You can definitely count on your meal to be actually two meals worth of food. I ordered the Philly which had eggs, thin-sliced steak, queso, cheddar, mushrooms, etc. and got the hashbrown casserole on the side along with their standard biscuit & mixed fruit. For taste, my favorite items hands down were the biscuit and the hashbrown casserole! They were definitely a treat to eat and although they are far from being healthy, my soul was very happy. :) I also love that the restaurant had Cholula hot sauce on the table — it’s definitely one of the better hot sauces. The restaurant was clean & the prices were very reasonable. My large orange juice was less than $ 3 and my overall total came to about $ 15.50 before tip. I highly recommend this place. It seems very family friendly as well so I would say bring the whole family & a huge appetite!

We live in the Woodlands and there are 3 breakfast places(I don’t count IHOP and the like unless I am desperate!!!) close by, one is really bad and we would not return and the other two are good but have crazy wait times at the weekend making it unattractive to drive a few miles and then wait 30 minutes just to get breakfast! This café is a 20 minute drive but totally worth it. The service is usually very good(we had one incident where a waitress seemed to be a little intolerant), the portions are generous and tasty. My favorite — every time — is the Southwest Arnold — if you like a spicy kick in your breakfast deliciousness then this is it. The coffee is not too bad either. My wife likes the two eggs and a cake(pancake) and often adds a side like grits or bacon. Two thumbs up. Try it — you’ll like it!
