This was my first visit — 01÷30÷16. Tuck’s has an inviting contemporary décor w/a splash of eclectic. Our waitress was charming and efficient. And, more than one waitress asked if we needed anything. Therefore, if service was a problem in the past, it has been corrected. Our party of four relaxed on comfortable couches and chairs. While served well-mixed cocktails. My friends chose this place for conversation and drinks, so the only minus was the loud pop music. However, the staff quickly accommodated our request and turned it down, and we weren’t the only people in the bar/restaurant. I really enjoyed this place and will go again. FYI — The bar shuts downs at 12:30a; doors close at 1:00a. Suggest to management — in my humble opinion, electronic lounge tunes would be most fitting with your relaxing ambience of «laid back lounge».

This establishment is «AWSOME». It is a place for the fabulous and chic, or even the ones that wants to make an impression. Their service is impeccable, their staff consistently aims to please their consumers. Buy paying attention to detail when it comes to your drink needing to be refilled or a plate needs to be removed. Their managers always are willing to address consumers questions and concerns while greeting them and welcoming them to the iPic/Tuck Room. I am a member of their reward program, so I usually attend on Tuesday for their members only menu prices. I also meet up with a few other individuals other days of the week for their«Social Hour». The food is excellent and the drink creations are delicious while you relax sipping within a contemporary atmosphere. The bar staff when sitting their, makes sure that you order a drink to your liking and if just so happen that you miss order, then they are happy to assist in providing you something else of your choice. I have even celebrated my birthday this pass«Dec 31» their and it was a great experience for all my attendees. It shows me that although they are a new establishment to the city, they are able to achieve greatness and handle events as such. I expect this venue to last a long time, for it is much needed within the RiverOaks District.

I absolutely love The Tuck Room. It is a quaint, upscale best kept secret that is bound to go mainstream. Houston has needed a venue of this caliber for a long time. The drink menu is innovative and the atmosphere makes me feel like I’m in LA. The service in «on point» for social hour and high maintenance patrons.

Some girlfriends and I went there for a girls night. One of them had heard it was a beautiful lounge atmosphere. We showed up and ordered a round of drinks, the cheese board, and truffle fries. The food came before our first round of drinks. Everyone except myself and one other girl sent their drinks back bc they tasted horrible. The worst part was that we were swarmed by gnats the entire time we sat there. They were in our food and drinks. We moved but it wasn’t any better. Needless to say we got our check and relocated to another venue. I will NEVER go back to this place. The service was slow, drinks weren’t good(when we finally received them), food was okay, but the gnats were so annoying! Gross! Would not recommend going here!

Awful service. Awful food. The restaurant was mostly empty and the service was still slow. The food was nothing special. Would not recommend for anything.

Terrible service. The kitchen brought out food at such a slow pace, besides the fries I saw very little walk out while sitting at a booth with a direct view of the kitchen. Our table ordered truffle fries which were good fries but they had no truffle on them. They were disappointing because we expected the truffle flavor. The table also ordered a margherita pizza which came out before the other entrée and it was quite simple and small, not impressed. The table also ordered the fish lettuce cups which came out last and 45 minutes after ordering. It was good but waiting that long made it not worth it. Another thing to mention is that the waitresses had skimpy dresses on which seemed very inappropriate and distasteful for a uniform at the river oaks district shopping center which is suppose to be luxury shopping.

This review is for lunch before a movie on a weekday, at a time when there were few customers(maybe five tables tops). Short version: Pretty and comfortable. Music too loud and annoying. Excellent server, slow bartender. Food very tasty, but some of it overpriced enough for even me to notice. Long version: Very pretty space. Booth was comfortable. Music was too loud — to, I believe, any ears as background music in a restaurant — and quite annoying — at least to these old ears. I have no idea what style you would call it beyond annoying, and I don’t want to know. Restroom was nice, although having communal sinks and mirrors for males and females kinda misses the point — it’s not the sinks and mirrors that cause the long lines for women’s restrooms! Server was very nice and very attentive — she even heard me snark about my Manhattan to hubby and offered to replace/comp it. I told her I appreciated the offer, but watery Manhattans are a chance I know I’m taking around here, so I went into it with my eyes open. What I really didn’t like, though, was how long it took to get it — nearly 15 minutes, with few customers in the restaurant and virtually nothing going on in the bar. Hubby got his drink almost immediately(and then I watched the bartender standing around doing nothing), so perhaps the holdup was something with the ingredients, although that certainly shouldn’t happen with a featured drink! Plus it was served in a coupe, which I found weird. Another thing I found weird was some parts of the drink menu, although I realize I’m probably in the minority. I’ve been railing against«Martini» menus for years — you know, the kind that call anything served in a Martini glass a Martini, even if it has, oh, say, chocolate in it… Well, this place has a Manhattan menu, which lists, to give one example, SCOTCH as a choice for the main ingredient. Uh, that would be a Rob Roy, people. There were other drink listings with similar weirdities, although the details escape me and I can’t find the detailed drink menu online. Food was delicious(with one exception). We had the croquettes and the filet sliders in the restaurant and then later split a lobster roll in the movie. The price on the lobster roll wasn’t too bad, especially since it included chips, but the chips weren’t very good — not much taste and you could break your teeth on them. We ate one each and left the rest. The roll itself was delicious, especially the bread. The croquettes were what really got my attention on the price. When the little bowl was put down the price popped back into my head with a caption of, «$ 12 for *that*??» I wish I’d counted them, but it wasn’t mass quantities and it doesn’t seem to me the ingredients would be exorbitantly costly. They were very tasty, but I wouldn’t order them again just due to the price, and I’m not generally terribly price-sensitive. The filet sliders weren’t that much of a shock, value-wise, but a few fries(or something — just not those chips that came with the lobster roll) wouldn’t have added that much to the restaurant’s cost, it seems to me, and would have made it seem more like a meal, which it definitely cost like. Not a big deal, just a thought. The meat was good quality and properly cooked, and the buns and garnish were tasty. We had their«Smoking in Bed» bottled cocktail in the movie, and it was quite tasty, if not very strong(much like my Manhattan). It is a good value.

This place is designed to be an ancillary food service for the theater it is located in. Posh, plush, classy, whatever word that it can be used does a good job of that. The ownership put their best foot forward in this respect. I want to say on a convenience position this really is a good way to go if you want to make an evening of dinner/movie/drinks. The menu is clearly«gastropub-y» but nothing original for the most part. Perhaps this trend is on the downward slope of such cycles. — Fillet Sliders are a favorite — Any Pizza though I am a fan of the Mushroom one. — Tots and bacon ketchup(yes seriously bacon) Like most new high end places they might put too much emphasis on the plating and less on the actual food. I get it, you fancy, but maybe I am one of the few who would rather have it taste good than look good… Yes, I am still talking about food. Throw in too many ingredients and the direction is lost. Case in point. Beef Kebab… Sweet, Savory, Spicy, salty at the same time? Reminds me of that Willy Wonka Thanksgiving bubblegum in the original movie. BTW: You can basically have a party in the bathroom lounge. Holy Crap. Let me say how fantasticly loungy it is. Serious talk, go use the bathroom there. best experience in Houston. haha. Tuck Room will do well as a date night occasion. They still got some stuff to work out but in due time it will be near perfect.

Came for drinks and apps. Sat at the bar and it was chaos behind the bar, way too many workers falling over each other but nor actually serving. Ordered a fizz vodka cucumber drink. Bartender took a while looking for a vodka, climbed above the bar and came down with Fuzzy’s vodka, would have preferred Tito’s but wasn’t asked, didn’t have cucumber so served without! Had fish tacos and tots, bacon missing from the tots. Way to many choices for bars and good food to come back.

Main reason for the 2 stars is the SLOW service. The concept of being a movie theater restaurant should be enough to come up with ways to get people to their movies… Anyhow I made a reservation at 645 and catching a movie at 8pm. We had not even received our drinks by 730. Our appetizers were served at 740. My husbands entrée at 745 and I never got to mine because … I really don’t know why… The point is I had to take it with me to the movie which is ok but I could have planned things differently if I knew how slow the service was. The food is good/average. Prices are reasonable. Ambiance is nice, décor is nice. Take home point: won’t plan on dinner here prior to movie… Possibly drinks after movie.

We came to the Tuck Room for a some cocktails and light bites before going out for my friend’s birthday. The place is absolutely gorgeous with lots of fun velvet lounge sitting areas. Pluses– We loved the Ginger Beer Cocktails and Décor(we took a selfie in the BATHROOM!)Also, the shrimp skewers were yummy! Minuses– Calamari was overbreaded and the sauce that came with it had a strange sourness. When we asked for marinara, our waitress said she never hears of Calamari served with marinara(say what?)Then brought us ice cold marinara sauce that we had to asked her to reheat. Our drinks took a long time to come– the food was there first. Overall a decent experience.

The three star review is more related to taste than quality. The drinks and service were great! The bartender(Malachi, I think) was really helpful and even poured me a taste of a drink that he overheard me saying looked really good. The drink was the Norma Jean, and they have it ready on tap to just add ice and strawberry pieces — and it was delicious. This is a compliment, not a criticism — my boyfriend and I both swear it taste like the Nesquick strawberry powder poured into alcohol rather than milk. Yum. I’m getting that next time for sure. It’s really convenient, because they have bottled cocktails and cocktails in different sizes — including pitchers. We didn’t try any food, because we’d just eaten, but the food others were eating around us looked pretty good! It was crowded, but it was Saturday night. My only realy complaint about the Tuck Room is the atmosphere — it was just a little too clubby for me. Not my scene, but the drinks and service were great, and it’s obviously convenient, if you’re stopping by iPic to see a movie!

I could not believe the space when I walked in it was beautiful. Everything from my bespoke cocktail to the food was very well put together and the service was surprisingly very attentive for only being open a few days. I am looking forward to coming here more often and very glad to find a place to frequent here in Houston while I am visiting.

We stopped in for a quick bite before our movie. I was a little taken aback when the host asked if we had a reservation. Fortunately we were able to grab a few seats at the bar. The cocktail program is designed by Adam Seger, a well known mixologist in Chicago(where I used to live) and we enjoyed our drinks. The food is also good. Service was attentive and professional. My only complaint was that the music was like club music and someone kept jacking the volume up at random times.
