Great pie shots, good beer selection, nice dog«bark park» out back. Bartender is helpful in choosing a beer.

Best neighborhood bar EVER!!! I ONLY come here for a drink because of the owners and their love for animals! Their service is always above and beyond and they remember all their customers and their dogs! The new bark park out back is better than the old boneyard! LOVETHISPLACE! I would be DEVASTATED if anything ever happened to this friendly neighborhood bar!

If you like dogs, you’ll love this place. If you like beer and whiskey, you’ll love this place. I don’t even pick beers anymore — I just trust Dustin to pick a good one for me.

Went here for the first time. The owner was really cool and he had tons of beer options. Game day atmosphere was nice too. Beer was not cheap though…

This bar is dog friendly with a great atmosphere. They have a large variety of liquors and craft & barrel aged beers, a fantastic selection of whiskey & infusions like strawberry Tequila and honey Whisky. Big screen tvs above the bar, outside on both patios & throughout the bar area. No food served but conveniently, in the parking lot, Los Perros food truck is serving up food that can be brought inside to munch on. Not craving Mexican food? No worries, right across the street is Ninja Raman or a few other food selections are within walking distance. If you don’t feel like watching a sports, entertain yourself with a game of pool on one if the two tables inside, foosball, cornhole in the outside back area, or your choice of video games including Big Buck and Golden Tee. With relatively clean bathrooms, plenty of places to sit, a wide variety of drink choices and a pleasant and attentive staff, and not to mention the delicious pie inspired shots(carrot cake is amazing!), this place is my number one dog friendly/sports bar choice on Washington Ave.

I came here on Halloween. It was superbly party. Only the best music was playing there. Huge selection of alcoholic cocktails. I try some of them. It was very fun. We hang out with friends as much as we could.

Best bar in Houston! Very relaxed atmosphere. The owner is very friendly. This place feels like you are hanging out with some friends in the backyard. Underdogs is a dog lover’s heaven. Dogs can roam around and play, and there is a little play place for them to run around in the back. If you’re looking for somewhere to chill to watch a game with good people and good drinks and perhaps a furry friend or two-this is the place! I will definitely be coming back here!

Place is awesome! My friend suggested this spot and she was on it! The owner knows what he’s doing behind the bar. You must get the Bloody Mary!

My homie and I frequent this place for after work beers. Craft IPAs and other great craft brews on draft at around $ 5 a serving are pretty affordable. I love the patio as it’s nice to be out there when my friends have a smoke. I’d definitely recommend this place if you and your buddies are looking for a place to chill with good, cold draft beer. They’ve even got a pool table.

I was pleasantly surprised by Underdogs. It doesn’t look like much on the outside, just like your run-of-the-mill dive bar. Turns out it has a huge whiskey selection and lots of great beer. The bartender(who I believe was the owner) is very knowledgeable about his stock. He took the time to go over the menu with us to help us pick whiskies we would like. I really appreciate that level of service.

What a great bar. I had an Old Fashioned. And then I had three more. They were made with grapefruit. So good. SOGOOD. Thanks to Dustin, the personable bartender for sharing your expertise. At the moment, I’m enjoying the Old Fashioned. I never thought I could like whiskey or bourbon but with these different twists that creative bartenders are inventing, it’s tasty to keep exploring. The porch outside has a big Jenga tower too. These types of games are great after a few drinks.

Stopped in yesterday since we were on this side of town.(We spend all our time in Rice Village these days). The bar was dark but had out door seating. The bartender, who was also the owner was very friendly and prompt with drinks! He had several beers on tap, I did not see anything over $ 5. I tried his Sangria. Delicious. That’s all I need to say, not too sweet, light, refreshing, fruity… They also make some infusing that we’ll have to be back to try next time. It’s a nice little dive bar next to Pearl. We will be back.

Cool sports bar. Flew into Houston last night for the first time and met my friend here. Very«homey» feeling bar with pool tables, arcade games, high tops, and dogs! Tv’s are scattered throughout showing various games and they have a pretty good beer list — new beers, at least for me. There’s also a good taco truck outside and they let you bring outside food in. Nice place to get my first taste of Houston.

«Everybody likes the underdog, because everybody feels like the underdog.» –Kate Beckinsale Underdogs is the odd ball of Washington Ave right now. Washington is trying it’s hardest to add more polished establishments but some times it’s those good olé’ dive bars that really make you want venture down this stretch. Underdogs is a pub that you want meet your buddy for a post work beer or possibly sip in peace to watch the game because your family is driving you crazy. It’s casual, it’s relaxed but most of all it’s a downright chill bar. You’ll probably be interested at sitting at the bar but the outdoor seating area is pretty solid. There is a taco truck that likes to set up outside so park your rear in a booth and enjoy. Bartenders are friendly but not overly intrusive, they offer great rec’s on seasonal brews from one of their taps. Underdogs also has some artisan hooch behind the bar. Things like strawberry basil, peach cobbler and wait for it… bacon moonshine. Ask for a small sip and see what flirts with your fancy. Underdogs– until we meet again.
