World Lace

Apparently the African Community has been knowing about this place via word of mouth. A couple of my coworkers have told me I could find some African Fabric here to add to my fabric stash which only adds to my «to sew» pile. This Place has an awesome selection of African Lace Fabric (George lace, cord lace, Swiss voile). The Ankara Fabric selection was very slim but OK. All the Lace fabric is sold per piece which is 5 yards. All the lace fabric I Asked about was anywhere between 60 (on sale) — 100 dollars for 5 yards. Most of the lace looked to be in the 100 dollar range. I enjoyed feeding my eyes on the beautiful design and selection of lace fabric. My wallet wasn’t ready to invest in the lace fabric just yet, so I settled for 2 pieces (6 yards each) of Ankara fabric. The Ankara fabric was priced between 35 – 85 dollars if I remember correctly. Whatever you do, don’t make the mistake I made of stepping on the carpet in front of the glass counter. Apparently that is a big no no. This shop also sells head wraps and a couple of other clothing items. Do not expect to buy sewing notions like you would find at Joann’s or Hancock Fabrics.
