ANDTHETAILBEGINS… I went in to LOOK at an apartment and was sold on the large living spaces and amazing prices well come to find out those prices were a lie. I had put in my deposit to hold it and was told with in 30 days if I decided to back out I would get my entire deposit back. Well I got my deposit back… only after blocking payment on my CC but then got a call from a debit collector saying I owed another $ 150. They said it was for trash pick up and water. I told them I had never lived at Parkland at Westoaks and they gave me the main office number which I called and got no response. I also got an email address which said 7 – 10 business days and that was 4 months ago. I tried to go up there to the office and there were about 20 residents waiting outside the closed office. Something went wrong with there rent and the office just decided not to show up to work that day. Long story short I had to pay the $ 150 because no one bothered to get back to me and it would be put on my CC history. This is the most RIDICULOUS complex and if I had this much trouble and i’ve never lived there I can’t imagine the trouble the current residents have. GOODLUCK, PLEASEGOSEARCHSOMEWHEREELSEBECAUSE I WOULDNOTTOUCHTHATPLACEWITH A 39AND A HALFFOOTPOLE!!! HAPPYHOLIDAYSYA’LL!

These apartments are now called Parkland at West Oaks. They have been taken over by new management. The apartments themselves(inside the units) are wonderful. Huge, nice looking, good floorplan, washer and dryer in the unit, etc. The new management has put in stations to pick up after your dog now, so that is supposed to help out with the feces(not that most people use them, and I haven’t seen any with actual bags in them yet). They are trying to keep the grounds kept up better, or so we are told. That’s about it for good things. PARKINGISHORRENDOUS. If you come home anytime after like 8 during the weekdays and 10 on the weekends you will not find a place to park. I park in the shopping center NEXTDOORTOTHECOMPLEX about 3 times a week. So much for a gated community. There are only the legal amount of spots required for the complex, no more. So visitors? Direct them to the shopping center next door and meet them at the gate I guess. They are putting in a parking permit system(2 permits per apartment, but only if you own both cars — so let’s say your significant other who visits every weekend? Yeah, he or she won’t be able to park anywhere). It’s ridiculous. Oh, and they said they’ll have you towed if you park on the street outside. The dumpsters are frequently over-flowing, inviting in pests. There are often giant racoons(be careful if you have a dog! They are NOT afraid of dogs, or humans!) and possums running about. You can typically find pieces of trash all throughout the grounds. It floods in the hallways of the buildings sometimes, which leaks into individual apartments(soaks through the walls I guess, or maybe there’s holes?). Also, now that Parkland has taken over my bill has drastically increased. When Wynhaven was in charge, I paid $ 850 for rent and about $ 30 for water, trash, sewage, and pest control — coming out to around $ 880. Now? Rent is $ 850 still(although I’ve been told it will increase if I renew my lease — which I’m not), and the remaining expenses come out to almost $ 100! I’m paying between $ 920 and $ 950 per month now! INSANE. Lastly, have fun trying to sleep. ALL through the night you will hear people blaring their stereos(with crazy heavy bass of course), yelling, fighting, who knows. It drives me nuts, especially since I only get about 3 – 4 hours of sleep because of it. For what you get, this place is definitely not worth the price. If the rent were cheaper(say in the $ 700s) I would be fine with it, but $ 900/month(that’s what I hear they are going to start charging)? No way. I can’t wait to move out.
