A beautiful and unique park because of the proximity to the ocean. Huge Park that is surrounded by a walking trail. There are swings and an area of the kids to climb on the kiddie slides. Handball courts and basket ball courts too. There is also enough field space for at least 3 or 4 softball games at the same time. I’ve seen soccer games here as well. There are also tennis courts too. One side of the park is right off the water so there are small«patches» of beach. There are also picnic tables in that area as well. You can also watch the planes take off as JFK is that close.

The area is still quite damaged from hurricane Sandy. The view is still serene and the conditions of the park couldn’t diminish it if they tried. Super windy, I was almost blown away. It’s a great place to fly a kite. In fact I saw a few in the air in the surrounding area during my brief visit. There’s so many birds looking for a little nibble but there are signs saying that you shouldn’t feed the wildlife.

To be fair I am giving this 4 stars simply for nostalgic value. The park isn’t dirty r dangerous but isn’t kept nice either. And since the storm nothing is being done to improve it. But I did grow up going here all the time, and I’m sure many people share happy memories of this place similar to mine
