David’s Salon

David is a perfectionist. My hair cuts are always on point. I get so many compliments definitely wouldn’t take my hair anywhere else.

I went to Davids Salon for a color and highlights, I was a little be nervous but he did a wonderful job on my hair. I have a curly hair difficult to treat. Also the use good products! Finally I have the color I was looking for years.

I came here very early one Saturday for a blow out. It was scheduled with David but he wasn’t in yet and I didn’t have time to wait as my engagement party started early. His assistant was the only one in the place and she seemed to be doing her cousin or some relatives hair. I kindly said I have an appointment and need someone to do my hair. So, she stopped working on her cousin and gave me the blowout. I appreciated that and she was very sweet, but I didn’t come to have my appointment ignored. The blow out was also pretty bad — no volume and my part was in every direction. Wouldn’t go back.

The first time I got my hair done here I loved it. They did an awesome blow out and simple cut, my hair looked beautiful. However, the second time I came in not so much. I went in for curls and eyelashes. My curls were beautiful but my eyelashes? Crooked. When I told David his response was «the glue is set, walk fast and no one will notice» what? I figured it was closing time and he didn’t want to stay later which I understood and decided not to make a big deal over it. Being that he did a good job with my hair I came back a third time for a haircut. What a mistake. I showed him a picture and he started cutting. Guess what? Completely uneven. I was annoyed but i felt it wasn’t terrible. Again I decided to give him another shot, I went in for a color. I came in and he told me he would do a consultation right after the haircut he was doing. He took four more customers and then spoke to me for 5 seconds. I waited 50mins for a 5 second conversation. Very annoying.
All four times I’ve been here there’s been drama with his workers. Stylists in their phones, yelling, and throwing fits, storming out. Super unprofessional. David seems nice and his blow outs are good but don’t go in for anything else. You’ll regret it.

I can’t comment on their hair cutting… There was only one girl on staff cutting hair on a Saturday. She booked me at 6 when they close at 7, but insisted on taking regulars before me. She told the other walk in customers that she would take them first and the other girl would have to wait, even though I had an appointment and it was already 615. I walked out… The owner, David seemed like a talented barber and a generally nice guy.

This was my first time here. I needed my hair done for my sisters baby shower, so I Unilocaled my way here. I am so happy with the results. My hair looks amazing and everyone including myself loves the way it looks. Thank you for making sure I looked stunning !

It took several times. but David did get it right, My hair is very delicate, and needs a professional touch. He uses good products, and takes his time.
I trusted him wiTh the color. And as you can see in the picture, he did a great job.
Uses organic hair dye. THANK GOD. Less chemicals.
I would recommend his salon… I would also recommend Rebecca and Angie. They both are extremely talented.

I come to Davids salon for my haircut and shave, for great exprince, service and friendly Staff. Best manicure, in Howard Beach. Pay a visit, you won’t regret it. David and his staff are wonderful. David is very knowledgeable and will make sure you leave the salon happy and looking your best. He does it all and is very personable. I got hair extensions put in by David. Most places do not have hair on premises but he did, which was great!!! I got my hair cut and dyed there as well as got eyelash extensions. I was more than pleased with all of the results. Go to David’s Salon… You won’t be sorry!!!

Tooo damn expensive. Never again. I asked him 10 times how much would it be to do the highlights, color and toner never answered my question at end he told me its $ 200.00. If he had told me from the start its going to be $ 200.00 I would have never gotten it done.
Seriously this man is crook.

Got my hair highlighted and blown out today by David, I’m INLOVE with it he did such a great job with my color I can’t stop looking at it I would definitely recommend this hair salon to anyone :)

I decided to give this place a try after waiting in a different hair salon for over an hour (with an appointment). I was slightly aggravated when I called David & asked if I’d be in there just as long since I had no appointment. He said he could take me right away. Which he did!
He did a great job fixing my side bangs & perfecting my long layers.
Staff is pleasant & prices are reasonable!

I was in town just for a short amount of time but my thick curly hair needed taming. David’s was close by so I decided to make an appointment. He was very professional and knows his stuff. He was able to recognize my terrible cut I previously got (from another salon) and even it back up. I also received the fastest blow out, that was also of great quality. I was able to get in and out with a great haircut and blow out in under an hour at a great price! I will be coming back when I’m in town!

There is few times that I have found a salon too do my hair and a person who cares about my hair as much as I do please try David’s salon out you want home feeling friendly and great aspire David’s is your place to go they will give the touch you need and want

I came in on whim for a trim. I specifically told the hairdresser «no bangs,», and no layering (it’s a personal preference and I hate both). To which I was told they could do a trim or a «good haircut.» WTF dude, I’m a low maintenance person. I like my hair healthy, as natural as possible, and one even length.
For reference, I have long, untreated natural wavy hair… and I like to keep it that way.
They also kept trying to sell me chemical treatments at later dates… Did I not just say I keep my hair as natural and unprocessed as possible… Add it to the list of things they ignored…
After it was over I told him to dry it because of the cold air outside. I also told him I rarely heat style and I don’t like big hair and to just leave it flat.
My biggest gripe was that during the blow drying process, he put the hair dryer on full blast, especially on my roots. It burned and hurt pretty frequently. He apologized here and there, but continued to burn my scalp.
At the end of the day I was left with layers that looked more like a Beatles hairstyle than a natural trim, I wound up with bangs and a giant poofy 80s big hair blow out (which I ran home to wash out). They also didn’t put anything on my hair to protect it from heat styling… I spent years growing out my bangs, and now I have to do it again…
Overall, my patience with hairdressers like these is thin and unbearable. You go in and ask for one thing, but they do whatever the fuck they want. This place has such high reviews due to the fact that every patron in the place are old women who love being incessantly complimented and sold things they don’t need by male hairstylists… I guess getting a plain trim is too hard or difficult to comprehend. Either way, you couldn’t pay me to go back.
Going to try Explosion next time, they have better reviews and are always booked solid… there must be a reason for that.
MORAL OF THE STORY –YOU SHOULDN’T CALL YOURSELF A PROFESSIONAL HAIRDRESSER IF YOU CAN’T EVEN DO A SIMPLE TRIM.
Guess my search for a decent hair dresser in the area continues…

My first experience at David’s hair salon was superb. David and Yana provided services that exudes good aura and a clean environment. David and Yana are professional and welcoming. David is a well seasoned hairstylist guru and I am in love with my hair… I 100% recommend any one to come to David’s hair salon.

I made an appointment at David’s Salon after trying many salons around the area and not being pleased with any of them. David is a magician! He took my to dark hair and brought it back to life again! He knows his stuff! He corrected my color and even added subtle highlights which brightened me up. His staff is very good as well, attentive to your needs. The head washer gave me some massage and worked on my hair for very long. David is a very personable young man. I would definitely recommended David’s Salon if you are looking for someone who knows what they are doing in both cut, style and color. He even offered to call a taxi for me if I needed one. David, please keep up the good work and continue to be successful in your hair artistry.
