Bob Evans

Ran very poorly by management. They even have a server that steals tips from other workers and nothing gets done about it. Food on the so so side.

Where do I start?
I guess I could start by saying this location is hit or miss with service. The service is ALWAYS prompt and friendly during the weekday mornings. When I come in for breakfast whether I’m alone or with a small group, the service is excellent. The same bubbly staff is there in the morning and I’ve seen many of the faces multiple times I have come in.
Once you get to lunch or dinner time the service usually declines. The servers aren’t as familiar to me, it seems as if there is always someone new or training when I come in for dinner. Even the managers change from month to month. Yes, I realize there are multiple managers at stores.
Moving on, this last visit started off less than desirable. My family and I, a party of 7 walked in late afternoon/​early evening. As I am walking into the building I had not only one, but two sets of patrons tell my family and I to just turn around and leave because they had already waited a long time to be taken care of. Against my better judgement, we entered anyway. We were greeted by a hostess that was less than friendly and acted as if seating a party of 7 was a hassle. It took her about five minutes to «clean» off a table. When she went to seat us, the table was still covered in crumbs and sticky with syrup. GROSS. I asked her if she would mind wiping the table down, when she rolled her eyes at me and said, «I already did.» I then asked her to wipe the table again, and was met with more attitude. Finally after exchanging words with the hostess, she wiped down the table, STILL leaving crumbs. I then took it upon myself to wipe the table down with my kids baby wipes. Thanks for nothing, it’s not hard to wipe down tables. Ugh.
I noticed as we entered the dining area, there were countless tables covered in dirty dishes that no one seemed interested in cleaning off. The weren’t busy, so I was shocked to see the dining room in such disarray.
Anyways, we were greeted by an extremely friendly waitress, Brettnie. She went above and beyond to serve us. All of our food came out quickly and correctly. She gave us refills in a timely manner and checked on us appropriately. She was upbeat and perky. I loved it! She was such a pleasant and welcomed change from the hostess.
Back to the dirty tables as we were concluding on our meal, I noticed one of the managers barking orders about the tables needing to be clean and if it wasn’t then no one would be able to go home. She then walked back to the front area and got on her cell phone. My theory has always been, if you have time to bark orders and talk on your cell phone you also have time to help clean up YOUR dining room. Quickly servers came out and started bussing the tables. Several servers, (not ours) made comments about how the dishes had been on the tables since breakfast, at this point it was nearly 6pm… and the breakfast servers had already been sent home! Talk about GROSS!
The highlight of our experience was our wonderful server. She truly was phenomenonal. The rest of this experience, was less than desirable. The managers and the front of the house staff that particular evening, were terrible. Should I encounter them again I will leave the store and take my business elsewhere.

Bob Evans is your typical comfort foods restaurant. The service is ok, the menu is ok. Nothing spectacular but not horrible at all.
The location is great and I’ve had no complaints anytime I’ve been. Nothing memorable. I’m sure we’ll go again sometime.

I enjoyed breakfast at this location and had the «Fit from the Farm» spinach omelet with fruit dish. They use a nice «Egg Lites» mixture for the eggs that is low in cholesterol. The omelet has spinach and is toped with diced tomato. The entire entrée with the fruit is only 282 calories and it filled me up! I went about my day and felt great and not weighed down. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Other than that, I only wish the entrée was a little cheaper, but overall I am satisfied and will visit other Bob Evans locations in the future.
