Vietnamese iced coffee that will have you going back for more and more. Most creative ice cream flavors to be had in a cheerfully hipsteresque ice cream parlor.

The ice cream here is terrific. I stopped in to try a small cone after lunch at rail trail across the street. It was so good I came back later that evening and bought quarts of 2 seasonal flavors. If you’re in the mood to try something other than farm-stand ice cream, go here!

if the ice cream shop of my dreams became reality, i’m pretty sure it would be new city. i love this place. my first introduction here was over the summer, with some corn ice cream and the sesame tuile. absolutely delicious. yesterday, i was able to sample the chestnut, and fennel pistachio flavored ice creams. both were yummy, and i sure hope the fennel pistachio flavor sticks around because if i had realized my boyfriend was getting the traditional pistachio(non-fennel), i would have gotten it. i ended up with the molasses gingerbread topped with the maple bacon crumble and a touch of whipped cream, and was very happy. they smartly toasted(or let dry out) the gingerbread so that it absorbed some of the moisture from the ice cream, but was still somewhat crisp and provided a nice textural contrast. we sat so that we could observe a fresh batch of ice cream being made, and were offered a little sample on our way out– raspberry sorbet that was knock-your-socks-off full of freshness and flavor. i know– it’s expensive. but i truly believe it is so worth it. the people who create the ice cream, toppings, etc. here are true artisans. these are real, human-made products that come with thoughtfullness and care, and just happen to cost a little more than my other boyfriends, ben & jerry. if you’re reading this, and you haven’t been yet– go. now. please. enjoy!

Even though there is unmelted snow and ice outdoors, there is no such thing as too cold for ice cream! Being thousands of miles from my go to ice cream spot, I need to find a new place for my mouth to smile. I was not disappointed in walking into New City Microcreamery. Even though the weather outside was cold winter, the environment you get inside is warm and inviting. The grass in the windows and the hanging lights make you think of an cute outdoor picnic place you’d sit with your family in spring time. Glad that I had my sister and 4 yr old niece in tow to fill the family spot. Being a new place, I often have to be wary because my tummy can still be picky but it was awesome to see the real ingredients that go into their creations. Now it was just the tough choice of what to try! My niece wasn’t sure if she wanted chocolate or strawberry and being a picky little eater a majority of the time, my sister was concerned she would take one bite and hate her choice. Cue the AWESOME staff! The super nice guy behind the counter let us know that she could sample each if that would help. Gold star #1 for the staff! After tasting each, she enthusiastically stated it was chocolate she would have with a cherry. Upon looking at the board, we see there is no cherry topping but yet again, awesome staff to the rescue! He let her know that they normally have cherries for the sundaes but for her they could get her a cherry if she wanted one. Gold star #2 for the staff! Now with my niece quite satisfied with her choices back to me. I was torn between the chocolate with peanut butter gravy and pistachio with the caramel gravy. So knowing most of the time the employees try what they serve, I sought this fabulous guy’s opinion. He pointed out the chocolate is always available but that pistachio was a rotation flavor. I countered that I am very far from home. I return in a few days and would hate to be on my flight thinking, «I should have tried the chocolate.». Understanding my predicament, he offered the perfect solution of 2 smaller kid scoops of each flavor in that style! Gold star #3 for this staff!!! Because of the service, we ended up with the ice cream we travelled here for AND a ham and cheese scone, a wild blueberry cake, a gingerbread cookie, a chestnut latte and a bottle of apple juice. The bill was not the cheapest I have paid at an ice cream shop but I have ZERO regrets because it was worth every penny! 1) The ice cream was amazing! 2) The service was beyond exceptional. 3) The shop was a lovely place to sit and spend time with the family on an early Saturday afternoon. I hope this place retains their quality standards and will be around for many years. Kudos New City Microcreamery, stay just the way you are!

Vegan Ice Cream? And it’s made from Coconut Milk? And it’s in Hudson? I was truly shocked to find this all true last time I was in Massachusetts. My sister lives in a nearby town and was excited to bring me here for my first visit. I went with straight up vanilla, but added a couple toppings(strawberry and coconut) and it was oh so delightful. The employees there were also friendly knowledgeable and the space was super inviting/relaxing. Yay for plant-based options meeting the masses.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH… its happy hour… keep walking past the restrooms. Flick the light switch. An eyball takes a peek. A door opens… A greater welcomes you. A door opens. A curtain slides. And you slip into the towns very own speak easy. Limited seating. Under 45. ZERO standing. When it fills, you wait in the creamery. Thats the rule. You wait. You can give your cell phone number and walk the town. But you wait. Unless you slip in on a Wednesday, and the softly elegant, simple sensual and relaxing, low key environment is like a long warm hug. A flirty, long and passionate hug. Soft lights, soft décor. Its tasteful. The team’s heart and soul, the quiet and higher end side of Rail Trail Enterprise. VERY small menu. VERY selected wines and spirits. Tapas. Clean. The cheese is supplied by Mullahy’s down the road. Why? because this family of delectable and soulful professionals have put the«UNITY» back into COMMUNITY and support each other like close friends — more than good neighbors — they have put a new fiber into the fabric of Hudson. Now this speak easy, with its price-point on point for very craft old-fashioned spirits(I had the negroni… ahhhhh!) $ 12 for a HIGH quality cocktail. They HANDCUT the ICE! They saw the freshly delivered block every morning, into chunks. Those chunks get molded into shape for each individual drink BYHAND. The menu changes based on the freshest ingredients, and Chef Tom’s ingenuity. We had the delectably smoky octopus, and the fresh and tangy poke. Our cheese plate was chunky. $ 11 – 15 for the full size of the«small plates». Husband had the classic martini — lightly citrus, like a soft vesper. His Manhattan was DELICIOUS, as was my negroni — remeniscing of nights in Venice… I can’t wait to go back and have phở and their hand churned vanilla bourbon with 3 shots quality bourbon. SERIOUSLY. The team has done it again. And«thats the way ahaha, I like it!»

BEST. ICECREAM!!! Impressed. …and they use liquid Nitrogen. Cool! They have some traditional flavors, but I can’t pass up the more exotic ones. The ‘gravy’ is good too(chocolate, balsamic etc.). This place rocks.

Really and truly«Woohoo! As good as it gets!» I pray for the day they open in Boston so I don’t have to drive to Hudson anymore. But I will continue to drive to Hudson because New City Microcreamery is where it’s at. Inside beautiful shop that they took great care in designing, the menu is a force to behold. While you wait in line, a server brings you 1 or 2 samples from the fascinating list of ice creams. I’ve found that their use a lot of herbs in their flavors, such as orange tarragon and fennel pistachio. Both are out of this world. They also have fun flavors like brownie stout and popcorn. To every child’s(and picky boyfriend’s) delight, they have a million other kid-friendly flavors, like cookie dough and peanut butter. I was also able to try the Horchata and it was 2938439x better than I ever thought it would be, and had a hard time sticking to my original order. Crème brûlée w/sesame almond tuille(sort of a sesame almond brittle that’s crunched up, like granola without the grains). — Caramel like with a super crisp topping that will get stuck in your teeth but you’ll LOVE it. Orange tarragon with hawt fudge. — The tarragon has a little bit of a licorice flavor, and pairing the orange with the hot fudge was a nice classic flavor combo with a bit of a twist. You’ll want to try everything on their menu, and you should, because they seem to excel at everything. I ordered an espresso and it was fantastic, VERY strong and fruity. I would recommend you try it as an Affogato, served over ice cream. The prices might be high for Hudson, but they are not higher than Ben & Jerrys or anywhere else in downtown Boston. Try coming here after dinner or after apple picking… it’s sure to please.

This place looks very nice. Its kind of pricey(especially compare with the quality of ice cream). If you like me… take care of health and eating ice cream once in a while, DONOT come to this place. I ate a lot of ice cream actually. There are other better ice cream places. Even pint of ben & Jerry’s ice cream is better. I had ginger –lemongrass ice cream –pure sweet. I had caramel popcorn ice cream –again pure sweet without taste of neither caramel or popcorn. I also had crunchy caramel peanut ice cream sunday — mistake! Ice cream was nothing caramel about. the whole scoop, i think i had only 1 crunchy thing. They grounded the topping to be powder –so you could not taste any of the topping. I feel like they do not know the good quality of the ice cream. Not creamy, not tasty. just a plain sweet cream. I do not think their ice cream is worth the money.

While you’re in line, a staffer will bring you a sample or two on a real little spoon to try. You want the waffle cone. It’s the best waffle cone in all of waffle cone history. I kid you not. The ice cream, itself, if well made and some of the flavors are quite innovative(while others are maybe kind of weird). Standards are exceptionally made(you know, vanilla, chocolate, etc) so if you don’t want to try something new, you’ll be happy with the not so boring«boring stuff.» The location is lovely and chic and it’s definitely got a hipster vibe all over it. Coffees are well done as well. The espresso is not burnt or bitter and the crema is on par. Whipped cream for your ice cream or your coffee is fresh and not canned. Vegan? Lactose intolerant? No problem. They have flavors for you too. Spendy, but not ridiculously so. You get what you pay for, and then some.

Thumbs up for the crème brûlée ice cream. Creamy with delicate carmelized sugar bits inside. Not too big, not too thick. Just the right balance.
