Programming is good, and this place is clearly an asset to the community however the seating is a bit cramped unless you’re seated in the front row. Needs more leg room!

Évaluation du lieu : 1 Manhattan, NY
My friend and I previously went to TSL for the live opera broadcasts from the Met a couple of times each fall and winter. First, the tickets are held at a front desk by either the co-founder or some other volunteer who seem to have difficulty finding them. Second, unfortunately, the seating arrangements are strange. There are ‘assigned’ seats with names in the sparse ‘good’ sections of the little makeshift theater and if you don’t arrive at least an hour early, the chances of getting something halfway decent are nil. Time after time(pardon the pun) one of the co-founders would shrug and comment, «I’ll see what I can do to get your friend an aisle seat», since my friend is disabled. There seems to be a pecking order of who gets these ‘assigned seats’, regardless of how far ahead you purchase tickets. I suspect this is based on how much you contribute to their organization, over and above the basic membership fee. Surprising for a presumably progressive group that touts itself as an all inclusive organization: «TSL brings to this community and the entire region, programs of creative energy…» hmmm… except when it comes to the opera broadcasts. Take the 20 mile drive to Great Barrington to the live broadcasts at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center — an organized, cultural gem of varied programming.

Évaluation du lieu : 5 Albany, NY
Me and my partner discovered this funky little art & event space in downtown Hudson by chance. Looking for an «Arthouse» movie place other than the Spectrum in Albany? This place is it. In addition it has numerous other events that go on throughout the year, with out the pretensions that normally come with art spaces. Inexpensive, and entertaining, bottom line, this is place is cool. Dig it!
