About the bakery. is great! Delicious!.. But some days I get the bread from a day before. Later in my house I need to put it in the trash. But when the bread is fresh is so great!

I tried the Pupusas today. I got the ones filled with meat and cheese. They were good. I also ordered a tamale, and it was not something I would ever order again. The tamale was good, but it was not what I expected. However, I will only order take out from now on. It just seems like picking up the food would be much easier, even though the service was good.

The food was pretty good. But the service was bad. I really wanted to like this place. It took, at least, 15 minutes to get the horchata. Then it was like they were only making one dish at a time. My gf’s dish came out 7 minutes before mine. 7 minutes seemed like an hour.

If you don’t know the food from El Salvador, this is a great place to enjoy some of the delicious dishes found there! The décor is fun and bright, and the restaurant has plenty of tables, to sit and enjoy your meal. We had pupusas(which are like an empanada of two fresh tortillas filled pressed together and heated on a comal; this makes the filling melt and gives the tortillas some crispy edges). The platanos fitos are bananas that are fried in a pan, and that results in a carmelized edge you’ll love. They serve it with Crema Salvadorena, which is like a sour cream, but with a richer flavor and texture; this plate came with some great refried beans, too. The soups are amazing; a large bowl filled with beef or chicken, vegetables and a savory broth. There’s a variety of drinks available, from soft drinks, to juices and coconut water. La Lencha is also a panaderia, or bakery; lots to choose from, including empanadas and pig shaped cookies that are made of a light gingerbread batter. The prices here are so reasonable, and the staff speaks Spanish, but can also explain things in English, too. They serve breakfast, too, which we are really looking forward to trying, soon. Nice people, good home made food, and great prices, go try something new!

Sometimes I imagine if I had a loving Salvadorean grandma. Every time I would visit my abuelita, we would give each other big hugs and she would comment on how big I’ve grown and I would chortle and retort, «That’s because you always have such good food here!» Then as I snap back to reality, I come to see that I have no loving Hispanic relatives but I do have a place that could substitute it their place. And that place is La Lencha. I could eat pupusas on pupusas from here since they are oh so tasty and they always make it on the spot. The filling is always gooey and flavorful and the contrast with the crispy corn flour breading makes it the perfect pocket of happiness. Also, the beef soup is very delicious and traditional and is the perfect pick-me-up for those(dreadfully) cold Houston days. However, sometimes they don’t have a menu and you have to ask your waiter to name off the types of pupusas they serve but it is well worth it. Disfruta!

I’m catching up on reviews for several months, but wanted to share this one since they had so few reviews and you should give them a try. On our quest to find new restaurants and different food, we took a chance even though there weren’t many reviews on Unilocal.Look for this place at the end of a strip center next to a meat market. On Sunday the menu is simple(see photos in the file), Tacos or Pupusas. I saw a guy get soup as we were leaving, but we were full. We ordered 2 beef fajita tacos(like street tacos with onion and cilantro and 3 different Pupusas(pork, zucchini, and bean with just enough white cheese to ooze). The man working in the front got someone from the kitchen to help with our order since I don’t think he was comfortable speaking English. Don’t be afraid to just pick up a menu from the table and point to what you like. Help yourself to a drink from the cooler and choose from an assortment of fresh baked pastries while you wait for your order to be prepared fresh. I liked the fruit empanadas best as the pastry was very light. In addition to the food above, we got 2 drinks and 5 pastries and our bill was only $ 13. We will be back. Give them a try when you are in the Humble area and looking for something different than a chain.

Best Salvadorean pupusas in Humble. The restaurant is a mix between salvadorian, mexican and honduran food. The soups are awesome. The place is simple, dont expect to get blown away by the décor, the food will have you coming back. 5 stars for food

Great Pupusas and the horchatta is a good salvadorean flavor!
