Super disappointed with Humble Inn. I placed a delivery order for a breakfast combo. They said it would be 45 minutes, which is a little long, but I was okay with that. 1 hour and 15 minutes later I finally received a call stating that the delivery was running behind due to an error by the driver. It was 1 hour and 30 minutes before I got my now cold breakfast from a very kind, apologetic, and harried driver who stated that he found out about the delivery only fifteen minutes ago. I paid and tipped him, then got prepped to warm my food up. Then I realized the order wasn’t even correct.(Grits are not the same thing as hash browns.) Disappointed mainly by the service, but the food is pretty decent.

Stopped in this place and walked back in time. The locals feel right and home and they should because the elderly lady running the place goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable. If every business was run with her efficiency and enjoyment the world would be a better place. I had the fried chicken special and it was really good. The green beans on the side were perfect. My partner had a pork steak and it was really tasty. This is home cooking and done well. I finished off my meal with a pice of lemon cake and I left with a smile. I’ll be back for sure.

Well my visit last night reminded me why we have only been here once before in 13 years. Hopefully it will be another 13 years before I forget how horrible the food is. It actually hurts to write a negative review for this place because I always try to support local, family owned businesses. But starting with 20 minutes to get a menu when we walked in with only three tables plus a party in the place, I should’ve known it was going to be a bad night. Catfish was not good; it had that gray cat fish line that’s left when you don’t cook it good. It also gives then heavy cat fish smell and taste. Not the good taste either. The shrimp were obviously frozen. Unfortunately I’m looking for fresh when I go to a restaurant. Denny’s I can expect frozen and wouldn’t order it there. And I certainly think servers should pay attention to what they’re actually serving. When my kids ordered two shrimp Po boys, plain and dry; and when she delivers it she says«two shrimp Po Po boys plain and dry» and one of them is obviously fully dressed she’s just not even paying attention to what’s going on.

Food is amazing and prices are not outrageous, it really makes not feeling like cooking the best decision I can make at the end of a long work week!

My husband has got pies there in the past when he worked in humble and they were homemade. This year he wanted them again. So drove 50 miles for pies that they bought and resold to us for 3x the price. I could have drove 2 miles and got the same thing for 5 dollars. I even said what part of town I was coming from. I feel like it was misleading and terrible thing to do. I paid 48 dollars for 3 store pies. How could someone pull such a thing. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

its much better now without the smoking sections. but it is not the cleanest looking place, but the food is traditional greasy spoon fare. I enjoy the breakfast here, and the bacon is thick cooked to snap when broken

Love this place. Don’t go looking for ambiance, unless you are looking for the kind of place that the locals from way back go to for good home cooking. Most everything here is made from scratch and D-licious. I very much enjoy their breakfasts. Hub likes their lunch items. I have been very happy with everything I’ve tried here. I highly recommend this hidden little gem.(I especially like the biscuits and gravy.)

Very decent country fare. The catfish is very good. They obviously COOK here, not just open packages and cans.

Parking in the cracked pothole laden parking area I traversed across the war torn asphalt into the Inn. Upon entering a slightly moldy aroma attacks the senses, and the gazes of locals piercing your soul, searching for yet another member of the local chapter of the Klan(or so it felt like), or maybe as an outsider the muffled sneers are a warning to not come back? This is good olé boy country. One wrong step here could find you on a one way boat ride veiled in a burlap sack, handcuffed, and bound in a logging chain. The Pabst Blue Ribbon clock riddled with dusty cobwebs tells time and reminds us of times way past, thinking to myself just get the chicken fried steak — get it to go. But no need to be hasty and rile up the natives, this their place, their rules. The fervor created at my arrival has died down, back to planning a cross burning or inter family marriage — you know they have got to keep things in the family. The waitress came from mediocre stock, but seemed capable. I ordered directly off the menu, nothing fancy, no special requests today. Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy, iced tea. The waitress by the name of Lucia, unknowingly or by some sick need, scratched herself right under the left nipple repeatedly. What kind of place was this, where was I? Is this America? I had to relieve my bladder after a long trip. I hesitated. But then I went. It can’t be that bad. Everyone in there is eating some sort of food. The door to the men’s room swung open with merely one breath. Entering the restroom a pungent smell of bleach and feces raped my sense of smell. I hurried to finish as I was being violated by two diametrically opposed enemies, feces and bleach. My shoes were assaulted by a sticky mixture of urine and floor wax at the urinal. Gasping I didn’t wash my hands for fear of contamination, and out the door and back into the Inn. I waited for 43 more minutes. My food arrived. Upon inspection of my prized meal I noticed that the chicken fried steak looked like something from Sam’s, the green beans were canned green beans, and the gravy was more like warm milk. The iced tea was spot on. I ate, or more like choked down half of the presentation. I was given with the bill, which included a slice of pie, but there was never any pie. I disputed the charge as respectfully as I could muster, blaming it on maybe a mistake or something. The proprietor of this establishment wouldn’t hear of it. According to this man whose name I did not catch, I was to pay $ 4.95 for the absent pie, and if’n I weren’t to pay(between spitting in his cup — a skoal aficionado this man is) that he would«git the Poelice» down here. Not wanting to further anger these savages, nor deal with whom likely is this mans Brother/Cousin/Uncle from the local klan-constabulary, I paid for the pie. Hours later I began wretching and heaving with a rolling stomach. My innards were now in a full scale 6 alarm fire. Then it happened, while on the toilet trying to dispose of the demons inside me, the demons exited simultaneously out of both ends. They said salmonella or some such. And that folks concludes my adventure to the Triggs Humble Inn.

Since we work in a hotel, we often order food from places for delivery since we are not all able to go out at the same time. We have ordered from Trigg’s quite often and usually have an okay experience. The delivery is quite slow at times and the driver isn’t always the friendliest. However, today will be out last time ordering from there, as when our lunches arrived, on one of the food containers there was an «extra friend» joining us for lunch. Yes, there was a roach stuck to the lid of one of the containers. We called and had them come pick up the food and the driver just brushed the roach off and said«Oh». Yes, the roach was on the outside of the container, but should have been no where near a restaurant or inside my delivery bag. We were offered to have the order remade or a refund, but of course I do not want any food from this place again. Which really sucks, because in the past the food has been quite delicious.

I’ve heard so many good things about this place… but as a first time visitor, believe me when I say it is the ONLY time my family and I will EVER be here. The place itself when you first walk in feels cozy and home like. Once we sat down we were sooo disappointed… from the service to the salad to the main course.

Enjoy Saturday morning breakfast here when I get a chance. The food is good old fashioned home cooking at its best. Plus it feels good giving back to the community by supporting a small business.

First visit. Small town feel. I like that. A little disappointed in the fried green tomatoes, as pretty as they were, they were RED ripe tomatoes so didn’t hold up well. Earlier review suggested Monday’s fried green tomatoes are the best. Well, may have to come on a Monday then. Grilled chicken sandwich was just alright. Onion sliced awfully thick. Lol, why? It was thicker than the chicken. Onion rings were good/great. Didn’t leave hungry! Great size portions, thank you! We’ll be back and try something else. Maybe breakfast! Or, dessert! Saw the dessert case on the way out. Tempting!

I had driven by Humble Inn for months noticing that it was often packed for weekend breakfast, before finally stopping myself. It doesn’t look like much from the street(or inside, for that matter), but I figured since it was often packed, it must be good. When you arrive, the waitresses will ask you to seat yourself. There are quite a few tables, but since it’s often busy for breakfast, it can be hard to avoid a table by the restrooms. Don’t worry, I’ve checked the Health Inspector Reports and Humble Inn has passed(with higher grades than several chain restaurants). I may disagree about the safety of the cinnamon rolls though. They are always sitting on the counter near the entrance without any plastic wrap. They look great, but I can’t help but wonder if anyone has sneezed in their vicinity recently. I enjoy the house breakfast tacos. They are cheap and good. The food tends to be greasy, but I don’t think I would have expected differently from a restaurant like this. Regardless, the food is decent and the staff is friendly, so I will keep coming back.

This place is great. It is a small café that has some of the best food! My husband and I go there for breakfast on a routine basis. It is like eating a home cooked meal. Absolutely love the breakfast! I hope they are around for a very long time.

I wouldn’t give this place even one star. UNPROFESSIONAL owner who decided to lay a personal verbal attack on me for thinking is gravy is bland. My friends, family, neighbors will not give this place another cent and I hope you don’t either not worth the money!

This is the epitome of the small town diner where you can rub elbows with city officials, local business leaders and others in a quiet home cooking restaurant. Their chicken fried steak is terrific. My only complaint is that it is so big and the crust sometimes peels off and I’m left with pieces on the place. But it is very flavorful and always filling at a good price. I recommend the turkey and dressing when it is available.
